First visit here. It smells amazing inside. We weren't instantly greeted just looked at by staff. We finally were seated in the very back of the restaurant which was empty besides 2 other couples. I was not happy with near bathroom seating but we had kids so I just assumed. The seating was so uncomfortable. We were waited on by a sweet girl, who was new to the restaurant. She recommended the crab cake which was $13 so we got it. I was shocked it was only 1 crab cake with some corn. The corn mixture was amazing but the crab cake not so much. My fish and chips was cheaper than the crab cake appetizer. The steak was smaller than expected and over cooked but good. The waitress was super slow and barely checked on us but she was super nice. I noticed the kitchen staff guy didn't wear gloves nor did he has a mask covering his beard that was hanging down. There was a cockroach in the light that was on the wall by our table which was super gross. The staffing didn't seem very friendly and the food was okay during the dead hour we were there. Good quality salads, I got the crab cake sandwich with fries, husband got a ribeye steak with garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Our salads came out then our food came out basically at the same time. My food was good, crab was a little spicy for me but good flavor, fries are not crunchy fries if you prefer that. My husbands food had zero seasoning what's so ever. The mashed potatoes had no garlic and tasted like water, was very strange. The steak also flavorless. I felt bad he didn't like his food. We ordered the green bean app and they were all out of green beans even for my husbands meal he just had to choose another side and we just didn't get another app. Mine was ok over all. The salads to add to our meal said $3 on the menu but they charged us $4 each. Neat little place, they had live music on a a Saturday night. I might would try the grits and trout if we were to come back, just not sure we will. read more

This is probably my favorite restaurant for lunch. I've been several times for lunch and the food has been great every time. The burgers and club are huge. Service is always great and quick even during busy times. The ambiance is chill, it's an old building but cool. I love this place! read more

Doolittle's is a nice place right on the strip in down town Anderson. The prices are diverse but non sandwich options run into the teens and twenties quickly. The fish and chips looks like must eat food. There is out door seating and the staff was friendly. Bottom line. Nicer place. But casual. read more

I got the bbq pulled pork there was hair in my sandwich and my french fries were burnt and too much salt on the fries. my mom got shepherd's pie there was spices in the pie didn't taste good it was bad and there was green beans in the pie. Green beans aren't supposed to be in Shepard's pie.the waitress gave us the bill and we were ready to pay but the waitress was at the bar for like 10mins bowl shitting with customers it wasn't that busy at that time. Doolittle's is OUR favorite restaurant as well in Anderson!! The menu is extensive with loads of different items to choose from---I've never had a bad meal there....from the fabulous Reuben Sandwich, sautéd corn, to Shepherd's Pie, to the pasta dishes. The only drawback for us it the LOUD MUSIC on live music days. The artists are positioned in the front window and without any soft surfaces, the sound resonants throughout the restaurant....making conversation impossible. We've left more than once when we realized it was LIVE MUSIC.....NOISY! A better idea may be to have the music outside in your courtyard and play loud enough for Belton to hear you!! **Compliments to servers, Cici & Alice! Both are wonderful & efficient at what they do! Great menu but the food is a little disappointing. Taco salad special sounded great but it was actually oily from the taco meat and had little to no tomatoes/fresh salsa. Very good service. Pretty inside with comfortable booths. Nice that it offers daily specials. Just needs a little tweaking. read more

Went for a three hour drive and I ended up in Anderson, South Carolina. Nice downtown area. I decided to try this place out. Nice small town staff and customers. I ordered the ribeye. When it came out I automatically knew that it wasn't a ribeye. It was a ny strip trying to be sold as a ribeye. I chose not to say anything because I didn't wanna wait any longer. Maybe it was a mistake, but I don't recall there being a ny strip offered on the menu. The baked potato was outstanding!!!! I would recommend this place, but buyer beware!! read more

Delicious! My family and I went here, kind of last minute and not knowing what to expect. I got the crab sandwich off of our waitresses rec and it was fantastic. Another person in my group got the fish and chips, which I tried and it was so delicious. Our waitress was soo pleasant, sweet and took great care of us. There was live music playing as well, which was a huge plus. Just a great place to go, get out and enjoy good food. Highly recommend and we will be back! read more

Stopped in with my daughter and her family for an early dinner. We shared the Crab & Pimento Cheese Dip appetizer which was very good. I had the Scallops which were tasty but the sear was only on one side. The grits were a little lumpier than I like but they were good. My son-in-law had the Harvest Salad which was a large portion and well made. He also enjoyed the Smothered Beef Medallions. One of my granddaughters had the kids meal Chicken Tenders which was good but a small portion. My other granddaughter had the Pork and Mac Stack which she really enjoyed. My daughter had the Cheddar Burger which was a burger. The atmosphere was good. Live music started at 7:00 but couldn't be heard in the dinning room. There was no background music in the restaurant prior to the live music. While we were there a wedding was taking place in the alley next door. It seemed that the wedding took priority over the restaurant patrons as all the service staff were crowded around the door trying to watch the ceremony. The management must not have thought anything about this since he started clearing tables and said nothing to the servers. The food was good enough that I would return but I doubt I would be a regular customer. read more

Went in to a late lunch, we were the only people in the restaurant. My husband and I ordered the crab pimento cheese dip, she crab soup, shrimp and grits and fish and chips. Soup was good, the dip was ok but not impressed. And the main meal was terrible, the shrimp and grits: grits over cooked a clumpy, the shrimp was burnt and the whole meal was covered in sharp cheddar cheese. The fish and chips: chips were over cooked and had no seasoning. The fish came out dark brown and when we bit into it the batter was so thick on the fish that the inside was gooey and the fish was watery. We quickly asked for the check. The waitress was nice and asked us if anything was wrong and to not be rude we just asked for the bill so we could leave. When she returned she removed the main meals from our ticket which was nice and we left. We will not be back sadly this place has a ton of potential. read more

I went downtown on Monday to grab some dinner, but I forgot that half the places in downtown Anderson are closed on Mondays so we had to come up with a Plan B. Doolittle's was open so we stopped in. The hostess was awesome asked if we preferred to wait just a minute for a booth or if we wanted a table immediately. I'm a fan of the booth, so it was nice to be given that option. After a few minutes we sat down at a nice, clean booth. The service was great the rest of the night as well. Our waitress took good care of us. The Food. There were 3 of us so I got to see/try several different things on the menu. I got the Carolina burger (added cheese) and sweet potato fries. My wife got a bowl of chowder and the buffalo thighs. My buddy got the Tomato Basil soup and Parmesan Encrusted Chicken. The burger was good and cooked perfectly medium, but the quantity of sweet potato fries was a bit disappointing. My wife's chowder was very thick and she did not care for it. The buffalo thighs app was a lot of food. I was impressed. The Tomato Basil looked good and the Parmesan Encrusted Chicken was ok but nothing special. I think I would stop in Doolittle's again for a sandwich or a burger, but I probably wouldn't really be interested in the more expensive dinner specials. read more

The food is absolutely terrible and the service is almost as equal. I went with my family which was a party of 8. We ordered a calamari appetizer and the chicken barbeque nachos. Both came out room temperature but the calamari may have been the worst I have ever had. I could actually taste the freezer when eating this. My family all ordered different things including: burgers, shrimp and grits, various sandwiches, and some pile of bbq, mashed potatoes, and whatever else they had leftover and sitting around. I can tell you that there is nothing fresh in this restaurant. Everything was frozen. Very disappointed and now I know why there was still availability at mid day (the same day) to make a reservation for 8 people on prom night, mother's day weekend, and on a Saturday at 7pm. This is the place people go to when they have no other choice for eating out. My suggestion is to order pizza and stay home. I would never recommend. I actually wish I hadn't eaten. read more

We love the atmosphere and the food is pretty good as well. Live music isn't uncommon and there is seating inside and out depending on your preference. The reason for the four star rating is due to the service which isn't terrible but it could be better. read more

As others have mentioned, the food is good but the service and presentation are REALLY bad! When we were all seated, we were asked if we were ready to order. Um, hello, your menu says "Ask for today's quiche and soup". So could you please tell us your quiche and soup??? 5 people for a Sunday brunch, 4 ordered the exact same thing - brunch sampler. One didn't get grits, one didn't get syrup, one got a condiment size of fruit while everyone else got a regular side bowl. The 5th person ordered the quiche (once learning what it was). It was cold. No refills on drinks, no one checked on us at all, for that matter. The checks came out all messed up. But instead of having the non-responsive waitress try to figure it out, we did it ourselves. We were all so frustrated by this point, we just wanted to leave. It was a Sunday after church - in Anderson, SC, this is the busy time! - but the restaurant wasn't very crowded. They can't use that as any excuse as to why all these things went wrong. For their sake I hope they can clean it up! read more

Friendly service, food always tastes fresh. My daughter is obsessed with their house made coleslaw and 4 cheese grilled cheese, and I'm in love with their crab cakes. They have some great seafood for upstate! They have good drink choices and it is a great place for a brunch, date, or family night. Friendly kid food choices that the adults will love too! read more

Ordered seared salmon and it came out fried. The server was extremely rude when I asked to have the salmon cooked the way I requested. She argued and said that this was the way they seared salmon (it had been fried in batter, who fries salmon?!). I requested to have it replaced and she said they could grill it. When the salmon came out grilled she continued to make excuses saying that on the menu it says that the salmon is battered when you order it seared... highly disappointed with the service. And disappointed that a manager did not come by our table when we sent back the order. read more
