Eggplant sub
Bruce S.

Wow! The kind of place where you have it for the first time and just what excited because there's a new go to Italian sub that meets your needs. I'm a huge grinder fan. My favorite in the LA area is Baycities.. if you know you know.. with that said, the Brooklyn Bridge grinder is the next best thing I've ran into. We visit this area often so I look forward to having this many more times. The menu and all the foods along with the pastries look great. My wife ordered the eggplant sub and she liked it more than the one at Baycities. Staff was friendly and the place is a clean little gem with delicious smells that make it very inviting.

I have to say, all the goods I've tried here have been really good. As far as food, I've had a sandwich here before and it was also good, but it wasn't anything too extraordinary. Solid food and even better sweets. I also want to shout out Jason, he is the man !

Eggplant Parm is the best sandwich easily. Don't make a mistake like me and try fried chicken here. Pretty bad flavorless chicken jerky. But the old school Italian deli stuff goes HARD Idk what I was thinking trying to be adventurous lol.

The sub was good. I love a good sub. It could have used a little extra dressing or oil but overall good sandwich. I want to go back and try their soups. They are really nice inside of there.

Been wanting to try this Italian deli for awhile and finally did it. The place was packed with Italian goodness. From the super friendly staff to the delicious food. The place is a combination of a restaurant and a market. It gives you the vibe of an Italian market in Italy, clean and inviting. Would definitely recommend and be back.

Pastrami Hot Sandwich and Meatball Hot Sandwich

One of my favorite spots to eat! Everything here is so good. The pastrami sandwich and meatball sub is always a go-to order for us but the beer battered fish fridays are also great!

.., their delicious ham & Swiss!

.., my second round with Donza's and it was better than the first. I had chosen the pastrami sandwich on my first visit and the flavors did not disappoint, but for the size and price I was. My work colleague is obsessed with their ham & Swiss and cannot stop talking about it! So I finally came back and he was right lol. Their Ham & Swiss is definitely larger than their pastrami, not significantly but for the price which was around $13 I believe, I'd def come back for it. The bread was firm but giving, ham was freshly sliced and savory, the Swiss was a nice touch, the thinly sliced pickles were definitely the cherry on top of this beautiful deli morsel of goodness. I can still taste the flavors in my mouth and it makes me debate on coming back sooner lol, thank you Donza's!

This location is off the 10 fwy exit mountain ave. Walking In the door you catch the Italian aroma of fresh pizza, hot sandwiches and Rib eye steaks !! Service is great! They also offer an array of hot soups pizza by the slices and wholes pizza for the family! There are also lots of cold pasta salads to choose from. I definitely recommend coming here as food is always fresh , hot and delicious !

I've been to this place before, but the location in West Covina. I remembered them having really good sandwiches. Never tried the soup though. This place is actually really big inside. Love the way it's decorated kind of like old Timey Italian. The service here is really good. The people are friendly and very helpful. The girl at the counter was super sweet and gave me the top two soups to choose from. I ordered the 16 ounce cup of soup and half sandwich. I decided on a turkey sandwich. It's always my go to and perfect with a cup of soup. I asked the girl what were her most popular soups, and she suggested the vegetable beef barley so I ordered it! My husband ordered the clam chowder and a hot pastrami for his meal. The turkey sandwich was delicious but it could have came with a little more meat. The soup though.... Great choice it was fire!!! Huge chunks of beef, and soft flavorful veggies! Wow so glad I took her advice! The broth was so yummy and packed with flavor. The pastrami was really good as well they did pack that one with meat. The clam chowder was not good. My husband had to change it for the chicken and rice. The chicken and rice was good as well not as good as the vegetable beef but had loads of chicken chicks and rice and veggies. I will definitely be back to try their roasted chicken as that's all I could smell while I was there and it smelled divine! Thanks for your hospitality old world deli!

Tuna Salad Sandwich todays special on wheat

Haven't been here in the recent months but my husband pointed out today that Donza's was added to the business name while we were eating our food. He guessed it was under new management. The tuna sandwich I had, I didn't finish, the pickles in there were good but the tuna salad itself was okay. The raspberry drop cookies are still there and I grabbed a few along with the chocolate drops but didn't eat them yet. My husband said his brooklyn bridge sandwich didn't taste the same as before and his chilli was more soupy. The potato salad seems to be the same but the mac salad doesn't have the same seasoning as this used to one of my favorites. I hope the broasted chicken hasn't changed, may come back to confirm.

I was really looking forward to trying this Italian Deli for some highly recommended sandwiches…read more They have just about any kind of Italian food item you can think of and the sandwich meats are fresh-sliced. Those my only positive comments from my first visit. I came on a Saturday so they might have been busier than normal. I had to wait quite a while for my number to be called and then I had to wait even longer because the server had to correct a mistake on the previous order. There was no place to sit and my knees were hurting from the wait. Once helped, the young man who wrote down my order walked toward the food prep area and almost immediately yelled that he was taking a break. The young man who prepared my three sandwiches seemed inexperienced and unsure how the sandwiches were made. I remained hopeful. I took the sandwiches to the cashier in another area of the store. She was young but cordial and asked if I wanted the sandwiches in a bag and I said, "yes please", only later to realize I was charged for the bag. As many other reviews mention, this business has amazing potential but the customer service is sorely lacking. There are obvious deficiencies in training and supervision. Now, about the sandwiches. The bread is tasty but VERY hard (almost stale). This is much different than all other sandwich places and I was not expecting it. I was very disappointed that one of the sandwiches was completely wrong and not the way I ordered it. I will say the sandwiches were a good value but the poor customer service and incorrect order will prevent me from returning. I hope your experience is better than mine!

As I was buying my sausages. soft pretzels, and potato salad, the lady said very little to me and the gentleman, nothing at all. When I tried speaking German, the lady said she didn't remember much of the language anymore. This blunt, "tell it like it is" way of interacting is pretty much how my family used to be, so I found it familiar -- even comforting. But it's easy to see how this can rub people the wrong way, especially if they're used to American (or even modern German) - style customer service. Everyone who found this rude is making reasonable statements. But to me this is more a case of people who have been doing the same thing for a long time without making updates. Decor-wise, place also seems to recreating the Germany that someone remembers from decades ago. The blue and white bunting, the beer steins, the picture of the Pope and other memorabilia make the place feel distinctly Bavarian, in a touristy way. A lot of places in Germany, even in the more traditional south have moved on. But my hope is that this place does continue until the proprietors retire with dignity or sell the business to some German-Americans with a passion for prepping and selling this type of food.

Sorry that I didn't know how you specifically want someone to order. She CAN be nicer to her people. I'm actually watching her be nice right now. The man just told someone a price for something and the lady came rang her up and charged her more. I don't know, maybe honor the first price cause that's pretty messed. The person questioned the lady about the pricing the man gave her but she just said NO. And wouldn't budge.

A most near second is the braised short rib, served with a delectable and cloud-soft heap of mashed potatoes. Of lesser note were the wagyu tacos, pigs in a blanket, and the maple pecan butter cake, which proved but ordinary in their savor. Why gave I it four? - Forsooth, the service remaineth most excellent, the choices ample, and the fare overall commendable. Know thou, many of the draughts afore-mentioned were priced for happy hour as a small note. Of those dishes deemed but middling, the wagyu tacos and pigs in a blanket lacked that wondrous spark upon the tongue. Lastly, the dry-aged ribeye, though served with seasoning apart, did taste somewhat over-salted to mine palate. Yet, these faults did not greatly diminish mine experience for I retain my favored dishes and shall return anon.
