I had been craving smoked salmon all morning, so I decided to make a stop here, and OMG!! The Norwegian Smoked Salmon was amazing!! Exactly what I was looking for! I also decided to buy and try the canned Calamari in Olive Oil. Although it was good, I just don't think I'm a calamari person after all lol. As for the Watermelon Cucumber Cooler, it ended up being more sweeter than I expected, so i just didn't really end up being a fan :/ Overall though, checkout was quick and smooth, and I didn't have to wait in line for very long. :) read more

Have I finally found my favorite Trader Joe's? I was on my way home from Claremont and drove by this Trader Joe's in Claremont. I was so happy! I pulled into this huge parking lot and surprisingly, it was not packed like most TJ's locations on a Saturday morning. Lovely. I went inside and despite it being slightly smaller than other TJ's I've been to, this store is well organized, very clean, and fully stocked on popular items. I was able to find exactly what I needed and was in and out of the store within 10 minutes. The staff were so friendly and helpful! I will definitely start coming to this one more often. read more

Trader Joe's in Claremont is a super clean, nice supermarket with many different products to keep your house stocked with delicious food and snacks. Currently, they have a lot of Halloween and pumpkin-style snacks and treats. I bought a tequila bottle that has a cute print that has skulls on it and it would be great for a Halloween party! I also got some Greek yogurt that was pumpkin flavor as well! Love pumpkin in general so I am happy!! read more

This is my first time going to this location because my friend told me that there are cute Trader Joe's tote bags available there (limited quantities). They sold out fast at other locations, so I decided to try this location. It's a bit further from where I live. I arrived there at around 8:20 a.m. this morning (they open at 8 a.m.), and I already saw a line outside. There were no parking spaces at the parking lot, but there's a parking structure and there are plenty of parking spaces available. The line moved surprisingly quite fast, and I got lucky to pick my favorite color of the tote bags. (limit 2 per customer) Then I got some boba mochi, macarons, celebration cake pretzels, bimbap and Shrimp & Scampi, etc. The store was not that big inside compared to the other Trader Joe's. 2/9/25 Greatly appreciate Trader Joe's for NOT PRICE GOUGING & capitalizing on this issue, $3.49/doz large eggs. I'm a fan & supporter. Superbowl Super Sunday 2025, It's crazy here but they're ON IT. Full swing with all the registers open, staff slinging it, looking serious but friendly & efficient (he flashed me a smile on the way out at the check stand) It's nice & clean, organized, well stocked. Aisles are just as great. Parking is a bit limited since it's shared with other businesses (same plaza near Buca di Bepo). Just had the absolute best service here, and I've long been a fan of the kind folks who work at this branch. Honey checked us out, sharing good advice about new vegan snacks (holy cow, the curry chips and sweet onion pretzels!). We were almost done when Honey noticed a rotten apple in a bag of galas we bought. She sent a green-haired employee (didn't catch their name, sorry!) to get a new one. This TJ's is full of hard working friendly folks and boy is it well stocked. The customer service is great, they recommend things to try. The inside of the store is set up for 'sharing' and if you make inquiry about where to find or if they carry, they can answer with a smile. Tyler found one of my eggs not to his liking and he had someone bring me a replacement carton. We talked about the bags of 3 sold near Christmas and how fast the new totes in EASTER colors went this morning. Came by this location to pick up some flowers to make my own bouquet. I had asked one of the employees if they had a specific kind of flower but unfortunately, they didn't have it and the person told me they haven't been getting those in. Still, instead of just ending there, they recommended me flowers that looked similar and they ended up working really well with the other flowers I had picked out. Yay! I grabbed a few other things and one of the employees that rang me up did not seem like they wanted to be there. It was like an avoid eye contact at all costs and let me get you out of here kind of vibe which threw me off since I've never had this kind of interaction at a Trader Joe's. Other than that, everything was pretty well stocked and cleaned as any other Trader Joe's I've frequented. Would've given this location 3 stars on just the cashier experience but they get an additional star for the person who helped me out with the flowers. read more

So grateful I got at least one color of their sold out, popular mini tote bags in pastel green, which nicely is the color I wanted most and thought was the prettiest. At this location, they were giving out two maximum per person/household since they ran out of the full colors to give out 4 maximum per person of each color. Also minus 1 star for the customer service. The female employee with glasses and a mask on who helped me out at the front was pleasant somewhat, but didn't say how are you to me but said it to the person after me, unless I'm just being too sensitive and overthinking it which I probably am lol nahh, she was just plain RUDE and not courteous. I used to live near the Monrovia and Pasadena locations and the customer service was always top notch! Always interacting with friendly employees. I don't know what's happened to the Claremont location and after reading reviews, I see I'm not the only one to notice. It's always a coin toss if I'm going to get a cashier who barely looks at me or one who is going to ask me how my day was and have a nice conversation. The last time I went the cashier got annoyed at me because I didn't leave my reusable bags in my basket. Instead I put it on the other side of her where they typically bag groceries - Thinking I was helping by placing it over there. I've been doing that for years. No one has ever told me otherwise. Annoyed because I wasn't bagging, she told me next time to put it in the basket and proceeded to aggressively bag my groceries. Wish someone told me this the last 5 years! Today I went in and was looking at the chips. An employee (who appeared to be a manager) turns and looks at me and proceeds to move and stand right in front of me and straighten the chips. What is happening... Even when I went around him to get the bag, he wouldn't budge. I get you need to straighten the bags but I'm literally just looking for the bag of chips. Can you wait a second? How can I see when you're standing right in front of me? Not to the side. In FRONT. This is the Claremont location. Been unfortunately coming here for the past 3 years since moving to the area, and each visit is always the same. Micro aggressive behavior. Employees who are hit or miss, but mostly miss. I went to Trader Joe's tonight after class and saw a young lady (pink hair) standing on the refrigerated area, with her filthy shoes on! I have addressed this before with the Trader Joe's in Rancho Cucamonga and they got step stools for their employees. Standing in that area where there is food is EXTREMELY UNSANITARY !!!!!! The amount of germs, dirt, bacteria etc on the bottoms of our shoes is unimaginably, Trader Joe's claims to sale organic , health foods but how so, if the employees practices are UNSANITARY!!!!! read more

Most recently I was introduced to Ube Mochi Pancake and Waffle Mix by a few Y* friend's. They said it's very good and it's seasonal during spring time. Thank you my Y* friends! Well, it's spring time right now so I better get hunting it down LOL. I had just visited the Botanic Garden and as I was just pulling out onto Foothill Blvd I said to myself, there's a Trader Joe's (TJ) just a block away. I was on my way here... I have been to this TJ on a few occasions. I had already did a review without photos though so I thought I do an updated review with some photos. Upon entry, Ube Mochi was right at the entrance staring at my face. I didn't even have to look for it. It found me LOL. To my surprise, it was a very tiny box and I mean tiny. I guess great things or foods don't necessarily have to be big to be good LOL. I'll have to confirm that once I make myself some ube mochi pancake or waffle soon. Anyway, I ended up with 4 boxes to make up for its size LOL. I walked around and picked up a few other things. I do love TJ! They just have the most interesting foods... great finds to say the least. One day, I'll have to walk through every aisle, touch every item, and just read about them. Anyway, I thought about figs and asked a TJ staff member if they had anything fig related LOL. He was kind enough to walk me over to the dry fruits section and introduced me to Organic Turkish Dried Figs. He asked me if I wanted to try them. I said sure so he goes to the back to change his gloves as his current gloves were dirty at the time. Thank you sir for being cleanliness minded! He came back to cut open a bag of the figs. I said what if I don't like them. He said no worries... he'll just share them with the staff and he did. Wow, that is amazing customer service and believing in their products! Thank you again sir for the trial of figs and wonderful service! And I bought two bags of the figs! They are indeed dried, very tasty, and turkish... they are a product of Turkey LOL. Yes, I am SOLD! Go get yourself a bag or two if you like figs! Shopping at TJ is always fun and intriguing because you never know what great finds you'll bump into. Don't be afraid to ask if they have something or not. They probably have something for you. And prices are amazingly reasonable... don't know how they do it, but they do. I was revolted by the racism I experience here. As is well known, Trader Joe's offers free samples of food merchandise that comes in containers. I asked for samples of several cookies I wanted to try before buying to give out on Halloween. After two samples the employee told me I had reached my limit and refused to allow me to sample any more. I protested and the employee walked away. Subsequently, while continuing to ship I was approached by two police officers who told me I was trespassing and has to leave IMMEDIATELY or I would be arrested. I asked to speak with the manager and the cops agreed. The manager didn't even look up but said I'm done with him and the officers grabbed my elbows and guided me out of the store. I was told that if I ever returned I would be arrested for trespassing. I had seen other customers, white people eat a dozen samples without incident. I had never heard of a rule that two samples were the limit. At no time did I act unfeasonably or rudely. I don't have any doubt at all that I was treated in this rude and condescending manner because I am an African-American.​ read more

On my way home from Lucky's Coffee, I needed to stop at Trader Joe's and stumbled upon this location just a block away. It's a well-maintained and clean store! Like most Trader Joe's, it was busy, but the layout felt more spacious, so it didn't seem as crowded. I quickly found what I needed, and with all the cash registers open, checkout was fast and efficient. The staff, as always, were friendly and welcoming. No greeting, no "did you find everything you were looking for?", nothing. Mind you I did greet her before she started ringing me up, but there was no interaction from her for the entire transaction. I have been going to Trader Joe's for a numerous years at least 10 if not more and never ever have I been in there that I have not had a great greeting until today 02-09-2025 Cashier S Michael transaction 242639. I did not get a hello. I got the look of looking me up and down as if I did not belong there. I let that go the young man that was bagging. My items was very nice fun happy go lucky talking never once. Did that cashier look up look at me Did give me my receipt and the extra cash that I want it. I'm thinking maybe he's in a diverse store that doesn't suit him. I know that Covid has been bad for workers. I respect the steps taken to keep workers safe. It's been hard on customers too. The General manager of this store is very sweet and helpful to all. I really like her and you can tell staff working her shift are happy. The male night manager of this store is rude, aggressive and he treats seniors and persons with disabilities poorly. A few of the cashiers under him have picked up his attitude making it uncomfortable to seek assistance with anything. I have had a few different encounters with him in 2020 since my original review. He has made it clear that I am not welcome at the store. The last time I was there the store had customers standing out in the freezing cold for up to 35 minutes. I asked if there was any Ada accommodation for folks who were more fragile. I was asking not only for myself, there was a couple in their 80's out there. We had chatted and the woman had said ohh it's cold, my husband just had surgery I Should have left him home! (My suggestion to one of the men on the line was could a disabled persons place in line be noted somehow and could they go sit in the warmth of car till their turn) I was told "no I'm not going to do that yeah come back during senior hours we have 1 hour twice a week for that" I saidI tried that but it seemed very crowded and I waited a hour in line. He told me I was lying. In disgust, I went to my car and called the store to leave a message for the female GM. (She told me months ago that if I had issue with is guy, I could call and she would help me pick up what I needed curbside) He answered the phone, I asked to leave a voice message for her. With hostility he said I know who this is, you are a problem every time you come here you think we owe you something Karen (highly offensive) You can come in the store now... Getting there: If you're coming from the 10 freeway, take exit 47 for Indian Hill Blvd, head north, and then turn left onto Foothill Blvd. You'll find this Trader Joe's on the left side in the Claremont Village Square. Parking can be tight, and the store lot only allows for 20 min parking, but if that's crowded you can always parking the public parking space right behind it. Experience: If you know me, you know I am on the TJs bandwagon. This particular location is always pretty clean and put together when I shop here, creating a pleasant shopping experience. What sets this location apart from others I've visited is the impressive variety of products they offer. I love Trader Joe's, but the parking lot for this plaza is so small. Go early and secure a parking space! I've been to a few other locations, and they are mostly arranged in a similar manner. This location is clean and tidy. I enjoyed seeing all the new and seasonal products. This store currently has their Valentine's Day products at the front of the entrance. I love Trader Joes!! This location of Trader Joes in Claremont has been my go-to Trader Joes since the Upland location closed down. The parking lot is really tight and stressful, but the high quality Trader Joes products are worth the hassle. Since the Covid-19 happenings, there was been extra effort with the staff wearing face masks, gloves, cleaning and wiping down everything extra extra. I have seen some sketchy patrons take off their masks intentionally inside, and the staff put them in check. I really appreciated that! There's a pandemic going on, so if you want to shop here, please abide by the large signs at the door. They have a nice floral section. Extremely affordable and always fresh. My family and I like to pick up flowers from this location on our way to Forest Lawn in West Covina to visit my late grandparent's graves. I also get my parents the dates here. It's great for their elderly digestion. I also got my mom hooked on their Maple Pecan granola cereal!! She tried to look for it at other markets, and I was like ohhhh it's a product of Trader Joes. So I always keep an eye on it to keep her stocked up. Sweet snacks: Anything with the Cookie Butter! The cookies, the ice cream, the spread... everything cookie butter!! I also love the smores, swoopwafel, ube ice cream, mochi ice cream, cocoa battons, caramel brittle, kettle corn, caramel covered chocolates... basically everything I try :) Healthy snacks: Love love love the TJ Greek Yogurt with Honey!! My fav. It is my go to health breakfast. I sprinkle in some granola, sunflower seeds, nuts... all products of TJs of course :) Fruits too! I also like their hummus. The eggplant hummus is my favorite. Charcuterie: Everything you need for your charcuterie board! I get the cracker assortment since it comes in a variety of 4 crackers. The cheese variety is amazing. You can select them one by one or get a party tray. I really like getting brie here. They also have nice deli packs for varieties of charcuterie meats. Pastas: I LOVE LOVE LOVE their lobster ravioli. I also like their butternut squash ravioli and the creamy chicken and pablano ravioli. Mhmmm... The lobster ravioli is great with a garlic butter simple sauce with basil and chives. Mhmmm. Highly recommended. I have always had positive experience with the staff here. They are always friendly and nice. Trader Joes is definitely a splurge, but it makes me happy so who cares. My relationship with TJ, has lasted longer than any of marriages so far! TJ has never disappointed me (unlike my father and my past relationships) It all started when I stumbled upon it in Roseville CA. I've since moved a few times and have frequented many TJ's. While they're all lovely, Claremont is my absolute favorite! Really fun helpful staff (Lina was a delight too, sadly she's no longer working there)! Great Prices! Great selection! Great displays! Super fun signage sometimes. The fun thing about TJ's is that there's always something new there! Always full of surprises! So, I look forward to shopping. Trader Joe's is one of my favorite grocery stores! The employees here are SUPER nice and helpful; and the stuff here are top-notch! I visited the Claremont location around May this year and to my surprise, they have sanitizing wipes by the door!!! Since we are in this crazy covid time, sanitizing wipes became the precious things ever!! So I was super appreciative to see sanitizing wipes by the door. Shopping at TJ could be an overwhelming experience since they have A LOT of goodies ... I recently noticed that there is a small shelf dedicated to "New and Popular Items." One thing I really like about Trader Joe's is that they always have new and interesting items. Sometimes it is frustrating to get it if the item is super popular. I haven't been able to get my hand on the Ube waffle mix or Ube ice cream... ... The fresh flowers are SUPER good deal as well. I used to buy fresh flowers at the local farmer's market, and then realize the price at the farmers' market is a lot higher than a bouquet of flowers at TJ, so now I just grab flowers at TJ, which is whenever I want instead of a designated date for farmer's market. They also have cute little house plants, I have bought several of them last year for my room and now the plants are big enough that I can plant them as trees in the grounds. So definitely worth that $9 bucks for a plant to turn into a tree! One thing really good about their pasta sauce is that they have their TJ brand pasta sauce and it has ZERO sodium! I try not to buy anything with a high sodium content, so for me to see their pasta sauce without ANY sodium, that was a deal breaker. TJ recently came out with a new spicy pasta sauce. I underestimate how spicy it would be ... oh it is definitely spicy and mouthwatering!
