Solid donut joint. Pulled up around 11p/12a times as I just reached SD. Tested my regular suspects : Glazed, and Custard Filled. For the fiance ingrabbed a Cream Cheese Croissant. Custard filled was good. Really creamy and chocolatey. The 1/2 dozen of glazed were okay. Nothing wowed me about them..... the donuts were super fluffy. So I gotta give credit where credit is due. Fiance ate the croissant -- didnt rant or rave about it so I'm assuming she just enjoyed it and moved on. read more

Stopped in real quick to check out this spot. I saw on the news it's been robbed a few times... that's unfortunate because the people working here seem really nice and the donuts look and taste delicious. Parking is a hassle as it's a small lot so you may have to hit the street parking. There are quite a few options for donuts on ECB but I would recommend this one for sure. read more

This place is real strict on cash only. And of course they have an ATM that charges fees, meaning you pay more in fees than you do for your donuts. Which, like, it's Covid.... No one carries cash. Got a chocolate glazed and donut holes and my three year old took one bite of donut holes and gave them back. He said they tasted old and gummy, which he's three... so who knows, but he doesn't typically turn down donuts. He did eat some of the chocolate one so it must have been okay. read more

I love this place! The workers are extremely sweet and welcoming. This is one of my favorite donut shops in San Diego, and they are also open 24/7! THIS PLACE IS SUCH A HIDDEN GEM. A 24/7 donut place is already special in itself. This place is your typical mom and pop donut shop, but one thing that stuck out to me is that these donuts are not AS oily as other places!!!! Normally I don't really care too much about the oiliness because a donut is just a donut, but I can tell these were baked fresh and weren't drenched in oil. Just absolutely the delicious! The person working at the counter is also super sweet and friendly -- even gave us one donut for free! I highly recommend stopping here to get your donut fix!!! read more

My two sons have grown up at this place. We lived a few blocks away when they were born (2004 & 2006) and we were regulars. Now I drive five miles, past at least three other donut shops, every Saturday morning to get our traditional chocolate old-fashioneds, maple bars, and glazed twists. Donuts here are a bit pricier than some other places in the neighborhood, but not unreasonable. And staying open 24/7 is a big plus. Unfortunately, if you come late the donuts taste stale. I know evening is not prime donut time, but if you're going to sell me donuts at full price, I expect full quality. If you're going to sell your day-old donuts, I expect a day-old discount. My go to spot when I need a dozen for the office (or myself)

If I could give zero stars, I would! Horrible experience! I used to come here often but I will never, ever go back! Luckily there are plenty of places to get donuts that are much tastier. The donuts never have enough glaze, and are nothing special. The worker was rude and would rather lose a customer than give my 11 year old son fresher donut holes, even though he had only tried one. Then he tried to give him twist which costs less. When asked about the price difference he slams 15 cents on the counter! Its ok sir! Keep your 15 cents which wasn't even the correct difference. We will take our business elsewhere and let everyone I possibly can know of how this business treats customers. read more

The time I was there, this place was run by Cambodians. There were three middle-aged Cambodian men in the back, just killing time, before the boy and I went to satisfy our midnight donut run. I have to say that I am quite disappointed--my experience with the midnight donuts was not as good as others', SO SAD. Can't always rely on 24-hour donut spots. We like to get a dozen to munch on for a few days, but the ones we got from here were stale in, a day or so. The other spot we go to, the dozen stays fairly good for 3-4 days. I'd totally drive for it, if the donuts stayed fresher longer. When I asked the guy, he said they were made the day before anyway. Meh. That's it. I've had some bad old fashioned donuts, but the one here was just about average. Came here for a midnight snack with some friends. Ended up buying three donuts (big surprise!!) Classic glazed, chocolate with choc frosting and Choc sprinkled and an apple fritter. My all time fave has got to be the classic glazed hands down. And this one held up to my standards. The chocolate was also yummy. Both were crispy outside, fluffy on the inside... Bliss :) The apple fritter was a little dry... Can't lie but Starbucks has one of the best apple fritters haha Overall the donuts were superb. Good price, .75-.85 cents each. This has become my regular donut shop when I am running late or just feel like eating donuts before classes at CSU. The donuts are usually soft and fresh while the sugar levels are in check by not being unpleasantly sweet. It also helps that the woman who regularly worx here has always been friendly and polite.
