The owner likes to get to know his customers, by name, and is generous with extras. This is my husband's favorite doughnut shop - he's the kind of guy whose last meal will be doughnuts, doughnuts, and more doughnuts. He's so addicted that he will put leftover doughnuts in the freezer - sad! I don't even like doughnuts. This bakery / coffee shop sure does bake up some nice scones, muffins, and other tempting treats. Their croissants are nice and fresh. Their coffees and lattes are good. When I have to take breakfast pastries to an office gathering, this is THE place I go to. There are many regular customers every day. The service is fast and friendly. This place has become a ritual. I hate to say it since I know donuts aren't the best breakfasts food, but they are so damn good. The owners/workers who are here every morning before the sun even rises, take extreme pride in there product as well as there customer service. The donuts are fresh and absolutely delicious. There are so many different types of varieties for your palate. They also have croissants (sp), muffins, and an array of other types of pastries. They have coffee with all sorts of flavors. I'm not a fan of the coffee here, but then again, this place is called the Donut Stop, not Coffee Stop. If you want good coffee, there's a Peets, just up the street. All in all, this place is going to make me FAT. The owners are very very nice, and the donuts are awesome. Best perk about this place, they are always giving me more than what I bought. Popped in here at around noon on a Saturday on a whim. They still had a good selection of donuts, muffins and other pastries. I wish the donuts were labeled. The woman working there was polite though not talkative. I selected an orange donut and a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and coconut flakes. Since I was running late this morning from dropping something off at the vet in the shopping center I decided what better way to walk in to the office late but with a box of donuts. As soon as I came in I was greeted with the sweet smell of fresh baked goodness and very inviting staff. First of all, I should not be eating donuts and I do try to avoid them when I can. But, if I do find that I am in need of a fast fix, I tend to head to the Donut Stop on Hazel as it is on my way to work. The owner and his staff are very polite, and always remember that I like a non-fat milk with my order (a contradiction I know). They do this even if I have not stopped by in over two months, they still remember me. My usual order of a coconut cake and a plan old fashioned with my milk never runs me more than $3.50. We found this place because of Yelp, and I've been meaning to write a review for a while now. In the meantime, this place has practically become a weekend routine for us. And I've been there three times in just the last week. Yikes! Not everything is absolutely perfect, and some things may be more to your taste than others. I've found that people can have wildly different opinions about the way their donuts should be. My wife really likes the cakey donut holes they have here ... I prefer the yeasty ones elsewhere. On the other hand, I like the heavier scones they serve here, and my wife doesn't. But one way or another, I'm sure you'll find something YOU like here. As for me, I love, love, love their apple fritter - it has a good crispy glaze on the outside. I also love their old fashioned donuts, because they have a nice crunchy crust to them. If you get there early enough, you might be able to snag a ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich, which is a nice savory counterpoint to the donuts. And their coffee is fantastic - they serve espresso drinks, as well as drip, and thank goodness it's something other than the usual Starbucks or burnt-tasting Java City beans. The owners. Kick. Ass. They are very friendly, especially once they start recognizing you. I think we've been comped a half dozen donut holes each time we've been there for the last few visits. This place is great. Two donut places are closer to me, but I'll go the extra distance to hit Donut Stop. They always have custard filled chocolate donuts. Most places have to do this by cutting open an existing donut and adding it in. Also their variety of other donuts is the best around. WORST/ CHEAP COFFEE CUPS EVER! Their lids don't fit the cups which ended up the coffee spilling on my husband, then when he went in to get another coffee, the second one spilled all over the car! Not only that when he went in to get the second coffee, the worker or owner started laughing at him because my husband had coffee all over his leg. THE SITUATION IS NO LAUGHING MATTER!!! YOUR CUSTOMER JUST SPILLED HOT COFFEE ON THEMSELVES BECAUSE OF YOUR CUPS!!! Have you heard of McDonald's getting sued for their customer spilling hot coffee on themselves! How can you laugh instead of showing concern for your customer!! The women who works here or owner was nice but the Asian guy deserves to be fired!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
