My dad is one of the "old guys" who others have mentioned in their reviews. He has been a regular at the Donut Parade since long before my time and I'm in my 40's. Sometimes, on Tuesdays, we have 4 generations of our family sitting at one of the well worn tables. The donuts are old fashioned and tasty. A hot maple bar from the Donut Parade is something nobody should go through life without. Certainly, opinions about donut quality can't be taken seriously from someone who hasn't been to the Donut Parade. Some of the things others have pointed out in old reviews no longer apply. The do take debit cards now and the "donuts" sign is visible from the street by the front door that works just fine. But, the place is from another time and shows its age. Don't expect gleaming conditions because this "ain't no Crispy Creme"! So, take our advice and come on down to the Donut Parade. Just pick a day other than Tuesday! read more

Of all the places I have gone for donuts, this is by far the best. The donuts are made fresh daily, and there is a good variety to pick from. If they don't have it, they will do their best to make it for you (if it is something they have the materials for). Sometimes, when it gets really busy, there will be a bit of a wait...but the donuts are well worth it. If you are in a hurry, call ahead, they will have your order ready to go. Every time I take my family here...they treat us like we are part of their family, and they will do the same for you. This is a must go breakfast spot in Spokane....and they don't only do donuts. Try their sandwiches, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, and much more. You will not be disappointed. read more

this review is mostly for my dad. he doesnt indulge in sweets much, but discuss donuts in any context and he will bring up that nothing can compete with donut parade maple bars. theyre pretty good. but half the joy is knowing about them and finding the place and getting there before the donuts are gone! i have a feeling this is the place my dad will hopefully be able to take my kids to, or tell them the story of those magic maple bars when driving by the dilapidated building and how they dont make donuts like that anymore. read more

We've been coming here for quite a while and trying to support a local business. Today they quoted me 15 minutes for maple bars and it took 40 minutes. I wasn't provided any updates on the time frame during this wait. When they were ready several other orders were filled before mine. However they came in after me. I had 40 minutes, plenty of time to see the others come in. When the girl gave me my donuts I suggested that it would be helpful to provide a more accurate timeframe or updates as people wait. When I told the woman this she said "we said about 15 minutes. It was your choice to wait". I agree it was my choice to wait, but if I would have known it would be that long I might have passed on the maple bars. Either way, I felt her response was rude and it came across that she didn't care about the customer. We try to support locally owned places and I like to get donuts from Donate Parade fairly regularly, but when I'm treated like this I don't feel this place deserve my support. Would a Starbucks employee treated a customer like this? If they did would there be repercussions? If "family owned" is important why would part of the family treat the customer like a nuisance? The donut place on division has always treated me well and will be getting more of my business in the future. UPDATE: Two days later I was at Starbucks. The wait in the drive through took slightly longer then normal, but nothing noticeable. To my surprise the woman at the window acknowledged my wait and apologized for it taking so long. She then told me that my drink was on the house and they appreciated me waiting. Starbucks went above to handle this appropriately and show that they value their customers. read more

Best donuts around!!!! The only downside is the actual restaurant is definitely old on the inside and resembles the wear and tear from over the years. But in some ways this is great because when you step into the donut shop, you step back in time! Love this place BUT, I'm a plain cake donut girl. They never have plain cake donuts with either powered sugar or reg. sugar. They seem to always cover them with all manner of toppings when its not needed. I do like their maple bars, but us cake donut fans have to shop elsewhere. The bacon maple bars. THAT IS ALL. Get that and you're set for life. I came early on Saturday morning and ordered a dozen of them for my family and I, they were still in the process of making it, so I had to wait about 5-10 mins, but that was fine with me... I was still half asleep, but came early to get them, because they do run out quick. When I finally got my box of bacon maple bars -- the box itself was leaking of maple, which was kind of annoying, because it got on my white jacket but whatever! When I got home, I quickly devoured a bacon maple bar. SOOOOOO YUMMY! The bacon was perfectly crispy and the maple was sweet and complimented it well. The only complaint is maybe cutting up the bacon strips a little, it sucks that after my first bite the entire bacon is off the bar. read more

Doughnut Parade has been around forever, and for good reason. It feels like it hasn't changed since the 60s, which in this case is perfectly alright with me. It's got that mid century diner sort of vibe to it, which works to its advantage. There's always ample seating and it's a great place to order a pot of coffee and enjoy the day. Speaking of which, in a huge fan of the coffee here. It's unique and flavorful, not too strong or too watery. It compliments every doughnut that I've ever had here. I'm not entirely sure how that's even possible, but they've pulled it off. I also really like the fact that the doughnuts aren't massive. Whenever I order doughnuts from Winchells or King Soopers, they end up being roughly the size of my head. Here, they're just the perfect size to appreciate the flavor but not get too tired of it. read more

They have very good donuts, and the freshness can't be denied, but they are not the best ever in my opinion. I wish they stayed open a little later also, I'm not that much of an early riser. I found out about this place from my co-workers then on my birthday last June my husband told me he will bring me anywhere I want so I asked him if we can start my birthday with a breakfast here and we did. We ordered a dozen donuts with different variety and everything are delicious!!! Since then and every time I crave for donuts we go here instead and always get a dozen order. Amazing service and donuts!!!! Went there for my first time 6am sharp. Surprised to see there was already a few people in there and more coming in. The lady who worked there was so nice and gave me a free donut to eat while I was waiting for my order. She also said to come back and try one of their famous maple bars on the house since I was in a rush and couldn't wait until 6:30 when they are usually done.
