A solid 4.5 stars from us. Stopped by around 9am on Sunday and had a great time. Got a dozen donuts (they threw in a 13th) plus a couple coffees (with refills) for $20! Hard to beat that. They have a good selection and everything tasted great - we got the buttermilk bar, apple fritter, cherry fritter, maple bar, cinnamon stack, cinnamon stack with bavarian cream, cinnamon roll with maple frosting, cinnamon cake donut, cake donut with sprinkles, and old fashioned. They were out of bear claws so we'll need to come back for one of those! We'll definitely be back again. read more

Old-fashioned and community oriented with tasty donuts for sure. We've been here twice now because we're new to the neighborhood and I've enjoyed it both times. Not even a fritter fan, but the cherry fritter is yummy- the flavor reminds me of confetti cake. Other fave is the bacon maple. Good, strong coffee. Love that each time I come I see mature folks on the sofas and diner tables playing cards and reminiscing and young families ordering at the counter. This place is for everybody. The staff/owners are super laid back and friendly. I paid for a 12 oz coffee my first time in and brought my own mug from the bike, and they topped it off just to be nice :) They also reminded me that I can get a small discount if I checked in on yelp. While traveling thru Vancouver, Washington recently, we looked for a donut shop. This one was fairly close. It opened 41 years ago, and the wood paneling and greasy wallpaper is original. Three gross couches greet you at the dirty door. From where I ended up sitting, I was looking at the dirty vacuum. One of the clerks was quite ill. Her hacking, snorting and complaining was loud. However, the donuts are cooked fresh in hot oil, and as long as she didn't breathe on or touch the donuts we figured we might be safe. The maple covered cake donut wasps the heartiest one I've ever eaten. My guy had a delightfully fresh cherry fritter. But the chocolate covered chocolate cake donut was amazing. I love the donuts. I even like the "retro family room" decor but the dirty display case was a big turn off. I could see that it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I noticed other reviews expressing the same concern. Some of these reviews are over 2 years old. I am not sure Donut Nook really bothers to read these reviews but it would sure be nice if they got a clue. I am taking a break from this establishment but will return again some time. I have been coming here for over 20 years. This is the best locals donut shop I have ever had the opportunity of going to. As soon as you walk in, you can see why the community loves this place. Its old fashioned, but in all the right ways. The donuts are always fresh and the staff is always on top of it. It is so cool to see the regulars over the years. Its a vert popular locals spot. I'm really glad that even during Covid the gentleman that would come here every day and talk to their buddies still were able to hang out, with masks on of course. They have all the classic donuts you could want and they offer multiple options for fritters which is hard to find. I came here with my daughter the other day just to have a little treat. Staff in front was not really friendly on how she treated the costumer in front of me. Neither she was to me but I just let it flow and continued to order donuts. For the donuts, there was a few that I like but most of it taste old and dry. My daughter didn't even ate her donut, only just a few bites and put it back to bag and didn't want anymore. We'll come back to give it another chance. And see how it goes from there. read more

Such a cute little shop! It has a very nice, small town vibe. The girl behind the counter was very sweet and helpful and put up with me and my uncles joking. The donuts themselves are pretty good!! The cherry one could use some more flavoring, so it tastes more like a regular glazed one. All of the cream filled ones are amazing! Highly recommend! My favorite was the cinnamon cream one! This is the best Donut shop in West Vancouver! Old fashioned, homey vibes. They have these Cherry flavored doughnuts that are soooo delicious I literally could eat 4! They have a really good variety of doughnuts here! They have a maple bar with bacon on it and they have all sorts of flavors. The doughnuts were soft and fluffy and melted in your mouth. The prices are good as well! They even made cute doughnuts for Valentines Day! I'm happy to have found a doughnut shop close to home. Next time you're craving a doughnut stop here! Okay, listen up donut fans - you have got to check this place out! BF and I were out running errands this morning, and were not too far from this place. He suggested we go, and I said a hesitant okay, I wasn't really in the mood for donuts, but was hungry and agreed. It is definitely hidden, and obviously a hit with the older generation (when we walked in there about 8 older men and women there). The place looked like their hangout - it reminded me of someone's grandpa's house. Dated, with darker wood tables and paneling, as well as random art for sale on the walls. But forget about the décor - let's talk donuts. These are old school delicious donuts, probably some of the best I've tasted. Forget the fancy (and expensive) donuts at Blue Star, and the crazy flavors at Voodoo - these donuts are SO freaking GOOD. We both got two donuts, and three flavors between us: Banana Fritter, Maple Bacon Bar, and Raspberry Filled Glazed. They were all delicious, but my fav was probably the Maple Bacon Bar. So much better than any other one I have tried. One thing I should have done when I walked in, instead of after we sat down at a table to eat our donuts - check in on Yelp. They have a check in special that if you buy two donuts, you'll get two free! How awesome is that? And dammit if that just ensures that I'll be back to take advantage of that great deal! :) The prices are already really low, and they don't have fancy lattes, but I had a cup of coffee and it was pretty good. I think we paid about 6 bucks for the 4 donuts and coffee, so overall the prices are great. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you like donuts. It's a hidden gem that obviously a lot of folks in Vancouver know about, and it's been around about 40 years (I asked the owner). DONUT NOOOOKK IS BOMB AF. I've been coming to this place since I was a baby. The donuts are yeast raise donuts. When I was little I would get the chocolate bars and the chocolate sprinkles but now my flavor palate changed. Now APPLE FRITTERS are bomb!!! Big and Flavorful. And now, they recently added bacon maple bars. AHHHH!!!! And they don't skimp on bacon. THEY COVER THAT MAPLE BAR WITH . They drown that donut in bacon. IT IS BETTER THEN VOODOO DONUTS. The first thing that hit me when I walked into this donut shop was the glorious smell. I've never met a donut shop that was filled with the amazing aroma of fresh donuts the way this place is. The inside is a little divey, just as any good donut shop should be, and the display case is filled with all manner of delicious looking offerings. I asked the lady at the counter if they have a signature donut or anything that is super popular. She directed me toward the maple bar and the fritters, and I took one of each, choosing the apple variety of fritter (they also have cherry). As I paid, she told me their donuts are all from scratch and people just go nuts for these things. I've had a lot of over-hyped donuts in my life, so I was not really expecting much. I was never really a donut person until I met my husband. His family owned a successful donut shop when he was a teenager, so he taught me how to find a really good donut. Over the nearly 12 years we've been married, we've eaten at a lot of donut joints of varying quality, so I figured I'd pretty much tasted the range of donuts the world had to offer. I was so very wrong. When I got to my car with my little white bag of happiness, I pulled out the maple bar intending to take a bite and put it back in the bag to finish when I got home. When I took that first bite, I was transported to another world where time and space don't exist. All there is in this world is happiness and glorious maple frosting. I sat there savoring the donut until every last crumb was in my ample belly. The apple fritter, which I had intended to save for my husband, was devoured with in minutes of my return home. With just the right amount of sweetness, these donuts are fresh, home made, and perfectly balanced. I did grab a glass of milk at the end, but they weren't so sweet that I NEEDED milk to get through them like I do with many donuts. In short, I have a new favorite donut shop. Or Krispy Kreme, that freezing cold mecca of assembly line sterility that we've been brainwashed into believing is an authentic American donut experience, a bold-faced sugary lie we allow to melt in our mouths until we burst. (And don't get me started on the effing K's, acting like intentional misspelling is somehow cute. It's not.) But ALAS! There are "regulars" here who have their own mugs which hang on old-school wall-tool board thing, like your pa has in his garage. * Old guys: In many forms. Sitting at various spots. Talking about politics, marijuana, kids these days, suspenders, and giving each other general advice/grief. I have heard all of these convos and can attest to the fact that they are not hired actors. * Powdered creamer: that's it. It's good. You can't come here and ask for some fancy schmancy soyalmondhempmilkcoffee doodads, ok? Stop being that guy. Just use the powdered creamer or go on, git! * Every donut variety made with love, fresh from the back. Frankly, you don't deserve to eat here. You did too many shady things in your youth which disqualify you, but since you were hopefully not dumb enough to chronicle them on the facebooks, just go and hope that God doesn't strike you as you stroll through the door. They have maple bacon in case you were wondering. ;) Out of everything I ordered (raspberry filled, lemon filled, glazed apple fritter, cinnamon apple fritter, maple bacon, chocolate cake, glazed chocolate, twist, chocolate iced, cinnamon dusted, and old fashioned) I only tried the apple fritter (tasty but too big for just me) and a piece of the old fashioned (tasted like someone made a mini pound cake then dropped it in a bucket of icing). Don't let the 70s decor scare you, the donuts here are top notch. That said- you won't find anything fancy here: just solid down home donuts. Whenever I visit a donut shop I ask, "what are you known for?" The lady here said "banana fritters" but they were already sold out at 10:30 am on a Saturday. They did however have cherry fritters, which were delightful. My standard however is always a maple bar but given my druthers I'd prefer a maple Persian (which they call a "Pershing" for some reason in this part of the country). So I got a maple Persian (STILL WARM), a cherry fritter and a chocolate cake donut. The maple Persian was perfect: soft, tender with a good amount of frosting too. However the choc cake donut was disappointing- it was kind of dry. I will def be back to check out the banana fritter! read more

I've patronized this business for years, but haven't in the recent year for obvious reason. I ordered a dozen this week with much excitement. I received the driest, most stale donuts of my life. We are talking 2-3 day old, on the counter dwelling donuts that needed to be tossed to the compost, and the price was 4 dollars more than others establishments. When I think of local donut shops, this is the kind of place I envision. The storefront isn't huge, but large enough to accommodate the massive group of seniors enjoying a morning chit chat. I took advantage of the check in offer and ended up with half a dozen assorted donuts for $4. Not too shabby.
