We had left an item at this shop and are regular customers. When I went back in to ask for it the response was "I wasn't working yesterday" then followed by a quick no when I described the item. When I looked myself the item was right in front of her. I said, there it is, can I please get it back? Her response, this was a different color. The proper response would have been, it this it? or sorry i missed it. I asked, is this how you treat your customers-her response " I DON'T CARE" This type of attitude is poor. Stopped by for a cup of tea and a sweet treat at this cozy, friendly coffee house. I had the Marionberey coffee cake and my companion had carrot cake. Both were fresh and delicious. My marionberry coffee cake was luscious with cream cheese and berry filling. It was a special treat. As I ordered my tea the guy who took my order asked what size I wanted. As I was deciding he said, "We charge by the tea bag, not the cup size, so get a big one!" I appreciated that. When my tea came it was CRAZY hot. Most of the seating options are for group seating (multiple tables pushed together, large couches), but there are a couple solo tables. For the most part, Savona is pretty quiet and a good spot to get some work done. The coffee was pretty good but a bit pricey. I had a breakfast burrito as well, and to be honest, was not very impressed. The small sized burrito was in fact, quite small, and was pretty tasteless. Stopped by the Savona Coffee house for one of there world famous Affogato treats. This one had a double shot over a creamy sweet vanilla ice cream. It was a perfect blending of the two. The slight hint of bitterness from the espresso shots blended very smoothly with the creamy texture and sweet flavor of the in house vanilla ice cream. After the ice cream melted down a bit it tasted like a better version of a vanilla latte. We came at the end of the day with ten minutes before close. The young lady that helped us was a little intense and seemed ready to go home for the day. I certainly get it. Anyway...we love this place and will continue to come back again and again. read more

My office is close by figured I would give it a try spent $18 and change the coffee was good but had the worst breakfast burrito of my life it was thin like a patty and seemed grilled not a typical burrito no flavor dry and to crunchy almost stale you can tell fake eggs etc were used. So, Last week I called in my request and then went in to get my usual Croissant breakfast sandwich. When i got back to my desk, I found I only had a cold Croissant only. I called back about the issue, and it was acknowledged that they gave me the wrong order, however no measure to reconcile was offered. Yesterday, I went in and personally placed the order, and mentioned the previous experience, I was asked if I had told anyone about it, and I said yes. I also said I was reluctant to pay for this order due to my last empty experience, however the counter lady demanded payment. While I have been to the location many times over several years, I will not return. This spot is much more cozy and aesthetically pleasing than I thought it would be from the photos! Clean feeling and also cozy. The decorations I found to be fun and warming. There are two couch lounge areas that are very spacious. One with a fireplace. Lots of table seating and then window seating too. Outdoor seating in two spots. The owner and staff are super friendly, I felt like I was at my home coffee shop right when I walked in! The Greek salad medium (versus large) was really good and like a size large. Periodically my former work spouse and our former boss of (12ish years!) meet up for coffee and gossip. One of us is in Vancouver, one in Oregon City, and I am in Northwest Portland/Bethany. We try to meet somewhere accessible and closer to one of us. This time we went to Washington to this charming place. I found it on Yelp. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday. The outdoor seating was nailed down already but we indoors we found comfy couches, ordered paninis, espresso, and a breakfast sandwich and settled in for an hour or so of catching up. The food and coffee were good. They have lots of choices. They take credit cards. The employees were nice. It was a pretty perfect hangout for us. I took my kid a cinnamon roll and it got a thumbs up. The parking on the street was a little rough because of a charity walk/run event happening along the waterfront, but there's a big lot across the street for McMenamin's and Beaches and I didnt see any scary signs threatening to tow. The location is nice but that's where it ends. The mocha I had got was too sweet, and the Americano my partner got was bitter. The employees seem like they don't want to be there at all, A big part of coffee shops is atmosphere so when you don't feel welcomed it takes a hit. read more

Ehh It's okay.. I've stopped in twice now, first to grab a tea and again to grab coffee. The tea was fine, its nice they had a couple caffeine free options. Nothing fancy just regular tea bags. On my most recent quick stop in, I came in hoping to try their food -- but they stopped cooking early due to a grill issue. Which is okay because I couldn't see anywhere to order from anyway...The menu that they have out isn't up on the boards, it's a regular piece of paper with small print that they laid out on the counter.. I decided to order the hazelnut latte and the pecan roll from the pastry display. The latte was alright but had a burnt taste to it. There was only one person working so he might have been busy. I'm also a big coffee drinker so others may not notice that as much as I did. The pecan roll looked really appealing, I had my hopes up...but it was fairly hard for a pastry... I tried to take a bite of it in the cafe and my plastic fork almost broke lol so I waited to heat it up a bit when I got home. That didn't help much unfortunately. :( read more

I like this little spot. It is right by Beaches. When it is hot outside and I am walking on the waterfront, I stop in for a milkshake. An easy "becomes your favorite coffee on the corner" house if you live nearby in the private residential neighborhoods. I thought it was Cafe D'Arte then thought ohhh that's the coffee they use, not the name- d'oh. Really nice ladies. Lots of great & unique stuff to choose from. I got my favorite soy chai--not too hot--and tried the honey bran muffin top (which isn't a muffin "cut" but just how it's made, when i found out). Nice. If you park near Savanos, just know that it's street parking only and a little competitive--this area gets busy and parking is limited. I've been here a couple times, last time being today where I stopped by after a walk on the waterfront and I've been extremely happy both times. It's by Beaches and Mcmenamins with a cute front area in front of the doors with seats and a blue striped overhang. It's super cozy feeling on the inside with a lounge area and dim lighting however, it was a beautiful day today so a lot more light was coming in than usual. The staff are always super friendly and they have an amazing selection of food - bagels, wraps, salads, sandwiches, soup. Also passion tea lemonade, which I totally recommend. They also have a wonderful ice cream selection ! I tried one of their special soups today - the Italian tortellini - and I have to say it was one of the best things I ever tasted in my life, not kidding. The tortellini was cooked perfectly in my mind - soft and squishy, but with a little bite. The broth was rich, creamy and flavorful with cheese, italian sausage and kale. The flavors worked so well together It practically sang on my tastebuds. I left feeling so full I didn't want to eat for hours. OH and it's well priced !! Overall this place is amazing and I definitely want to come here more often, it has blown me away for how humble it looks. :] read more

So I checked in through yelp and saw a nice surprise...an offer for a free 12 oz coffee with a purchase of a pastry. "I'm not aware of that, I didn't place that offer there" says one of the workers. She must be the owner. She refused to honor the offer. We still bought breakfast. The girl that helped us was friendly. The coffee cake wasn't bad either. Pros: Ambiance was great; Speed of drinks to table; Size of food and presentation; Employee that helped at first did an above average job, very good for vancouver. Cons: coffee is "drinkable" but nothing to tell mom about; I asked for an off menu item "Brie and strawberry jam crepe" was told yes at first, then no, then "fine we can do that." I've passed this place many times on the way to Beaches. But, this time we stopped and looked at the menu in the window. Intrigued, we decided to try it. Glad we finally did. It is unpretentious, and cozy. We each ordered hot sandwiches and they were delivered to our table and they were beautifully executed and presented on ceramic plates, not plastic nor paper. The fillings were tasty and the panini press was that extra touch. Oh, the sandwiches were huge!
