Great spot on a Saturday morning. I was able to park right in front and just paid $.85 for parking. Nice and comfortable ambiance with lots of places to sit. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly baristas and quality coffee. I also ordered an egg, bacon sandwich. The bread was really soft. The sandwich was a little on the smaller side but overall tasted great. Will be back! read more

We came today and ordered a coffee and banana matcha. You grab your own lid and straws so I was trying to put the lid on took us no longer than a minute. The guy working there came and said we need to move. I thought that was so rude. Don't worry I won't be coming back! read more

The line can be a little slow, but the employees are nice, and the service is normal. The inside is nice. The specialty banana pudding matcha is delicious and refreshing. You get a refreshing banana flavor, but it's not so overpowering that it overwhelms the matcha. The matcha was nice with its flavor. read more

I had some work deliverables that needed to be done RIGHT NOW so instead of trying to get back to PDX, I decided to find a coffee shop to park it in and Compass delivered! It is a cool space downtown with great light and vibes. The servers were super nice and helpful, and made a helluva chai! The thickkkkk ass bread for the avocado toast was perfection! Will most definitely return when I'm in Vancouver next. read more

I've always wondered why Compass had long lines. It was a quiet Sunday morning and we were close, so we swung in. We got our order in fast and the coffee was ready in a few minutes. Our lattes tasted like pure happiness. Smooth and flavorful! The temp was perfect for drinking. We sat inside and enjoyed every sip. It was a great coffee experience! We are looking forward to coming back soon! Great service, great coffee! read more

Very busy place! They handled the long line with charm and it moved easy. All drinks I saw with customers looked well made and delicious. Basket case was full of items I wanted one of each of. Ordered back iced tea and the Avocado Toast Plus. Best avocado toast I have had! Seriously want to eat that every day! Lots of seating inside and out. Room to use laptop or sit with a friend and talk. read more

Coffee shop with the cutest aesthetics! Just adorable! The service was quick and they were super friendly! I ordered an iced matcha latte sweetened with vanilla as it normally comes unsweetened. I also got a pistachio croissant which I had warmed. It was giant but yummy and not overly sweet which I appreciated. They were quite busy and there was a lot of people working on their laptops here. Quite a popular spot but I see why. Cute vibes, good service, yummy pastries and good drinks! read more

Quaint coffee shop. Decor with plants. Lots of bar seating, a few tables and a long communal table in the middle of the coffeeshop. Street parking paid until 6pm They offer the traditional coffees from a Coffee Roaster. We only ordered two cortados. They have milk options for plant based. Good coffee quality. read more

This place is already heavily reviewed and it's pretty positive. It's not a bad spot at all. It's inside a very old building and has that mid entry building smell. I am surprised that the coffee smell didn't overcome it. It must be very powerful. They were sold out of all the bakery goods which doesn't surprise me since the line was never shorter that 5 people waiting. The space is cramped for the amount of foot traffic they have. This brings us finally to the coffee. It is good. Not the finest cup I have ever had but far from the worst. The 7.50 for an oat milk latte seemed a little steep. It's at the top end of the price range for the quality and atmosphere provided. I think they could really use a second coffee machine. There's only one guy who is making coffee nonstop with 4 others behind the counter. Over all. I would have this again. But I wouldn't want to wait in the line read more

My favorite thing to order here is their cold brew with cold foam. It's smooth, flavorful, and never bitter. They get the balance right every time. I also have to call out their chocolate chip cookie. It's perfectly crisp, rich, and easily a great choice alongside coffee. Perfect combo if you want something sweet with your drink. Compass Coffee is a great place to grab a drink, get some work done, or just relax for a bit. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area. read more

I walked in to Compass and ordered 2 pastries. An Almond Croissant and a small cinnamon roll. The cost was $15. Don't get me wrong, the pastries were tasty, but 7.50 could get you an entire burger not that long ago. $15 for 2 pasteries is a bit outrageous. It's a sad day when Starbucks is the economy option. I'll think twice before coming back. My money can be better spent elsewhere. read more

My experience there was warming. In fact a little too hot. No jacket required. I was waiting for someone who was late despite working across the street. The barista held my order until she arrived. Didn't have to ask or plan. It's rare to have that of awareness in the service industry. Aside from that the basic cappuccino I ordered was decorative but more importantly delicious. Thank you. read more

Compass coffee is an aesthetic and cozy coffee shop. There always seems to be a bit of a line no matter when you go. The turmeric latte was a good balance of spicy and sweet, but did have an above average amount of ice in it. I also enjoyed their iced matcha with vanilla, which was on the sweeter side. read more

I passed by this place multiple times and noticed that it was always packed no matter the time of day. I never got to go in until recently to do a study session. To be honest nothing about this place was very unique, whether it was the coffee or menu. The space is small, but effectively used with its woody and earthy interior. There's some outside seating which I actually really love; on a beautiful summer morning that would be the ideal place to sit and chat with others. On the day I went, it was quite loud, which I expected given the popularity of this cafe. I see this cafe is kind of a nice local spot that a lot of people know of, but nothing about it was particularly memorable for me. Service was great! read more

Great coffee great ambience. Nothing fancy but good sandwiches for breakfast. You will enjoy! Try it.

I used to love going to compass when they first opened and would tell everyone to go there, but in the past few years it has become a place to avoid and not recommend. Their service has become horrible to everyone but their "friends ". Being very rude and arrogant, and making you feel like you are bothering them just to order your beverage. It is extremely unwelcoming. You will be lucky to get your drink within 15 minutes, as they pick and choose who's drink they want to make next... their friends will get their drinks before you even if they ordered after you. The Coffee taste burnt, and no choices on a dark bean or light ( they used to have options when first opened) and the menu items are highly overpriced making it an unaffordable option for anyone on a budget. Sadly I have been hearing the same complaint from many people and there doesn't seem to be any changes... just more attitude. read more

I'm disappointed to say that the quality has significantly decreased. They are often out of pastries, beverages, and the coffee has been inconsistent. Service was once fast and friendly but now it seems slow, unprofessional, and aloof. The barista was sniffing shots with his nose practically touching the espresso then poured it into empty cups, letting it sit (get bitter) while prepping milk for 3 other beverages. One of the two baristas dumped water for my pour over before walking off to have a conversation with friends even though there was still a line of customers. By the time I received my coffee it was lukewarm and bitter. I definitely didn't leave feeling that they enjoyed making coffee or people for that matter. Lastly, the owners should clearly mark the floor or hang an "order here" sign because several customers were waiting only to be told that they were in the wrong area. Overall, it was just a super disappointing visit. read more

Some of the best coffee in Vancouver! I've bought beans for my coffee snob son-in-law and myself, as well as enjoyed a cup and a pastry in house. Coffee is Great. Service was dry and very transactional. Ambience was great for meeting people.

We stopped here on our way out of town and it was okay. The coffee wasn't spectacular. The wait was quite long. My sister got a breakfast burrito and she really liked it. I got my kids a couple muffins and chocolate milk. The muffins were vegan and gluten free... they were awful. I eat gluten and am not a vegan, so maybe if I was they would have tasted fine. The inside was inviting and they had a nice outdoor area. We probably won't make an effort to go back. read more

Honestly the coffee was not very good. But the spot is so cute, with lots of light and seating. The service was okay, nothing stand out. The baristas were not super chatty, but there to get their job done. It was busy so that's fair. I wish there were more fun latte flavors. The latte itself was pretty bitter. I wish the milk was creamier. It was $6.75 but not worth that. Maybe I'm just too much of a coffee snob? read more

Went into get some coffee, and my husband asked to use the bathroom, the way the kid working replied to him about being a paid customer was extremely rude, and then after standing there waiting to order with no help I asked him where do we order and he rudely told me down where the computer was. Made me feel like I should have just know. When I didn't clearly see the computer from where I was standing, I just felt an attitude from him that was unnecessary. The oat milk mocha had an odd grainy texture and it tasted a bit like the oat milk had gone bad. When my family and I were in town visiting relatives, my mission was to checkout coffee shops in the area. Compass was close to our airbnb and was recommended by our host and brother-in-law. Their recommendation was spot on. I base my judgement off my favorite specialty drink...the vanilla latte. When made properly, there's a balance of espresso and vanilla syrup. When it's not, either the espresso is overpowering or there's little to no espresso and syrup (I don't like to drink warm milk). It's safe to say the drink was to my liking (thank you baristas). Service was pretty good. Both times my husband and I visited it was busy. It was standing room only when we walked in. The line moved fairly quickly (knowing why I wanted helped a lot and we didn't have time to sit take in the scenery) though. read more
