Dropping my friend off for a doctor appointment, and I found Donut Drop a great place to get a cup of coffee, a donut, and hang out working for an hour. Here are some thots: -Big selection of specialty donuts, eg. Apple pie, cherry pie, maple bacon, snicker doodle--hard to choose! -I ordered the apple fritter (see pic) and I'm so glad I did : ) Had a delicious cinnamon glaze on top, tender sweetbread, with apple pieces. Donut Drop not only has exceptional quality donuts, they also have breakfast sandwiches as well as coffees and teas. This establishment is on the the smaller/moderate size. It's very spacious with plenty of options to sit down and enjoy your items. They also have board games available. Everything was clean and ready for customers to enjoy their time here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was here around 10am on a weekend and it was consistently busy. All staff members were either taking orders, filling orders or cleaning. The options for donuts are plentiful. They have classic donuts as well as fun/unique items (ie - maple bacon, mud pie, lemon ring). I tried the mud pie ring and the fruity pebble ring. Took the teens to this donut spot yesterday while in Schaumburg for the weekend. I thought why take them to regular ole Dunkin when we can experience fresh donuts and cool variety? The shop is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The shop is small but has lots of seating. The donuts are on display behind a tall glass window for easy viewing and picking! We got a dozen. All of the donuts were delicious, soft and fresh. Some were even warm. Favorites for me included the lemon, strawberry and maple. The Boston custard (not to be confused with cream) was fantastic. I tasted a few others. And everyone loved their selections also. If you're in the area stop in. Everyone was super friendly. Only complaint was the cheap coffee cup. I ended up spilling coffee all over myself and car. Extremely disappointing. But just the cup was bad. I saw on Instagram that they were serving mochi Donuts. So I had to grab some. I was able to get some the first weekend before they sold out. I also got a few of their regular donuts (long john chocolate, lemon ring, red velvet) all good and great early in the morning. The mochi donuts I got were glazed, ube, strawberry, fruity pebbles, chocolate, and cinnamon. My fave was the ube because it was light and chewy and ube is tasty! I guess negatives (although I don't want to be harsh since I did like the mochi donuts overall)... -the frosting was not consistent. Some of the donuts were nicely covered and others looked like they were made in a hurry and dipped in a tiny bit. -not all the donuts tasted light and airy. some were more dense tasting. They were never hard to chew though. I'm just getting down to the nit-picky stuff. I didn't feel cheated at all buying them so I went another weekend to get them since they had new flavors. I'd recommend them especially when not every donut place offers the regular donut flavors and mochi donuts they do. read more

The height on these donuts is not because they are dense, but because they are filled with a sweet combination of dough, air, and pure joy. All the other donuts are so tasty and moist like the S'mores and apple pie donut. I always get donuts here for my family and friend gatherings. The Ube donuts are excellent too! Did you know this place has mochi donuts? They do! At least, they do on Saturdays and Sundays ONLY. Back when we used to work at the office, instead of at home, my co-workers came here all of the time for donuts. I have never been much of a donut person, but if you are, this place is the cream of the crop. Now that they are offering mochi donuts - a different beast from "regular" donuts, in my opinion - I think I will be coming here a lot more often! Mochi donut flavors we tried are Plain, Glazed, Cinnamon Sugar, Ube, Matcha, and Fruity Pebbles. All were great. The favorites among our group were the Ube, Matcha, Glazed, and even the Fruity Pebbles. The bubbly, pull-apart shape of the mochi donuts was great for sharing, and kind of reminded me of a baby's teething ring. Do note that Donut Drop closes by 12 noon, and often earlier, if they sell out of donuts. It's a good idea to call your order in ahead of time, or even a day in advance. They have online ordering, too, via Square, but that only seems to work during certain hours. The order page says they take online orders between 6am-8pm, but it was definitely refusing orders before 8pm. Ordering while the shop is open seems to work more reliably. Decor here is cute, and service is very friendly. If you like mochi donuts or regular donuts or cafe drinks, Donut Drop is well worth your business. read more

I also got a large hot coffee ($2.05 for 20oz) since I really needed some caffeine. Total with tax for everything was $7.89 which isn't bad for half a dozen donuts and a large coffee. You know it's a good donut shop when they have a sign that says that they will close once they run out of donuts! That means everything is made fresh every day and that people are buying them and selling out! When I travel for work, I tend to scout the nearest donut shop and pick some up for clients I work with. This one popped up and I was so glad I "dropped" by. I loved that there was such a huge selection and i hated that I couldn't get them all!
