A true five-star doughnut emporium. #1, all the options are delicious, fresh, and high-quality. Second, I respect any establishment that opens at 6 am, and when you walk in at the crack of 6, they are ready to go with all wares on display. No sleepy bullshit where a single worker is still setting up and pulling covers off trays, etc. Multiple staff including the owner are on site and ready to deal. They must start hella early. Finally, if you want a real breakfast before eating doughnuts for dessert, they make a very very solid sausage, egg, and bagel sandwich. read more

The best of the best. I have friends who come from the Southside of Schaumburg passing many other bakeries to get their Donut Drop favorites. The Apple Fritters are so large I cut them in fours for the office. Shop local. JimE read more

Dropping my friend off for a doctor appointment, and I found Donut Drop a great place to get a cup of coffee, a donut, and hang out working for an hour. Here are some thots: -Big selection of specialty donuts, eg. Apple pie, cherry pie, maple bacon, snicker doodle--hard to choose! -I ordered the apple fritter (see pic) and I'm so glad I did : ) Had a delicious cinnamon glaze on top, tender sweetbread, with apple pieces. I'm sure it wasn't healthy, but sure tasted good! -Service was excellent. -Nice ambiance for working, with background music and different kinds of seating--couches, stools, table, etc. Feels open yet private. -Prices are very reasonable. Small mocha for $4, specialty donuts $2. Highly recommended! P.S. Closes at noon on weekdays. read more

Donut Drop not only has exceptional quality donuts, they also have breakfast sandwiches as well as coffees and teas. This establishment is on the the smaller/moderate size. It's very spacious with plenty of options to sit down and enjoy your items. They also have board games available. Everything was clean and ready for customers to enjoy their time here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was here around 10am on a weekend and it was consistently busy. All staff members were either taking orders, filling orders or cleaning. The options for donuts are plentiful. They have classic donuts as well as fun/unique items (ie - maple bacon, mud pie, lemon ring). I tried the mud pie ring and the fruity pebble ring. Both were delicious! These donuts were fresh and hit the spot. I also had an iced coffee which was pretty good, not the best but necessary for a caffeine fix. read more

Took the teens to this donut spot yesterday while in Schaumburg for the weekend. I thought why take them to regular ole Dunkin when we can experience fresh donuts and cool variety? The shop is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The shop is small but has lots of seating. The donuts are on display behind a tall glass window for easy viewing and picking! We got a dozen. All of the donuts were delicious, soft and fresh. Some were even warm. Favorites for me included the lemon, strawberry and maple. The Boston custard (not to be confused with cream) was fantastic. I tasted a few others. And everyone loved their selections also. If you're in the area stop in. Everyone was super friendly. Only complaint was the cheap coffee cup. I ended up spilling coffee all over myself and car. Extremely disappointing. But just the cup was bad. The coffee itself was good I just couldn't enjoy it. read more

Donut Drop continues to serve beyond exemplary donuts for a great price. These are still the moistest donuts I've ever had in the Chicagoland area and highly recommend anyone passing through to stop by in the morning. Recently ordered a "donut cake" for Father's Day that could be customized in many different ways and ended up looking and tasting amazing. Incredibly moist, delectable, and was absolutely humongous for only $15. read more

I had some fantastic classic donuts here in Schaumburg. I was in and out with my order. The apple filled was by far the best, so moist and delicious like they crammed a whole apple pie in the middle. I could have had a dozen of these. I did favor the cake donuts slightly over the raised dough. Donut prices were in the mid range. "I'll be back" in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice. read more

Another great food tour in Schaumburg. Here I had a buttercreme and custard filled this trip but I will be back in a couple weeks to try more. Absolutely delicious. So far the best doughnuts I've found in the Chicago area. I do wish they had sprinkles but still delicious. read more

Donuts are always delicious but these donuts were airy and fluffy. I'm always on a hunt for delicious unique donuts around the burbs and definitely a delicious donut spot. In my opinion the icing is a bit too sweet for my preferences but it's still very delicious. 5 donuts for $9 something. Not too bad in my opinion. Definitely coming back but this time I will come a lot earlier to have more choice to pick from. If you are in the area, definitely check it out. It's located in the middle of Harper college and topgolf. read more

I had these donuts recently at a birthday party, they were the cake for the event. Let me tell you these were delicious, I have not had such a great yeasty donut in the longest time! They were super yeasty and not too dense or not too light, just right. Each bite was delicious and it makes me want to check this store out in person and see what other donut varieties they have to offer. I had booked marked this place for awhile because I saw they had mochi donuts, but now these regular donuts might be better. read more

I saw on Instagram that they were serving mochi Donuts. So I had to grab some. I was able to get some the first weekend before they sold out. I also got a few of their regular donuts (long john chocolate, lemon ring, red velvet) all good and great early in the morning. The mochi donuts I got were glazed, ube, strawberry, fruity pebbles, chocolate, and cinnamon. My fave was the ube because it was light and chewy and ube is tasty! I guess negatives (although I don't want to be harsh since I did like the mochi donuts overall)... -the frosting was not consistent. Some of the donuts were nicely covered and others looked like they were made in a hurry and dipped in a tiny bit. -not all the donuts tasted light and airy. some were more dense tasting. They were never hard to chew though. I'm just getting down to the nit-picky stuff. I didn't feel cheated at all buying them so I went another weekend to get them since they had new flavors. I'd recommend them especially when not every donut place offers the regular donut flavors and mochi donuts they do. read more

I've driven by this place every day on the way to work for 2.5 years and finally decided it was time to drop in for a visit. So many different varieties of donuts, all so pretty on display. :) I wanted to try the ube donut, but unfortunately it's not in season for the winter. :( So I went with my all-time fav, the Boston cream donut. It was delicious and sweet, with a very good custard filling. Friendly staff and plenty of parking in the strip mall made for a very pleasant experience. Amazing Mochi Donuts!!! Everything tasted fresh and fantastic! I get the Mochi donuts all the time as not many other places have these. All the other donuts are so tasty and moist like the S'mores and apple pie donut. I always get donuts here for my family and friend gatherings. The Ube donuts are excellent too! Easy to park in the lot and easy to order online. Make sure to order ahead of time online during the weekday for the specialty donuts to pick up anytime as the donuts run out fast. Best Food: Ube Donut with Toasted Coconut, Nutella S'mores Donut, Mochi Donuts Okay/Good Food: Maple Bacon Donut Things to Note: Some days I've went in service was slow, but overall it's a wonderful place. They will only make ube donuts if you or someone else pre orders them. That is the only way to get ube donuts, but they are the best ube donuts I've had ever. These are one of the best donuts you can get in this area for sure. I loved the Nutella S'mores donut. They torch it to get the marshmallow nice and crispy. The Maple Bacon Donut was good, but not the best. A wonderful place and wonderful owners. They are family friends with Gurnee Donuts, and if you haven't been there you got to try them out too! read more

Did you know this place has mochi donuts? They do! At least, they do on Saturdays and Sundays ONLY. Back when we used to work at the office, instead of at home, my co-workers came here all of the time for donuts. I have never been much of a donut person, but if you are, this place is the cream of the crop. Now that they are offering mochi donuts - a different beast from "regular" donuts, in my opinion - I think I will be coming here a lot more often! Mochi donut flavors we tried are Plain, Glazed, Cinnamon Sugar, Ube, Matcha, and Fruity Pebbles. All were great. The favorites among our group were the Ube, Matcha, Glazed, and even the Fruity Pebbles. The bubbly, pull-apart shape of the mochi donuts was great for sharing, and kind of reminded me of a baby's teething ring. Do note that Donut Drop closes by 12 noon, and often earlier, if they sell out of donuts. It's a good idea to call your order in ahead of time, or even a day in advance. They have online ordering, too, via Square, but that only seems to work during certain hours. The order page says they take online orders between 6am-8pm, but it was definitely refusing orders before 8pm. Ordering while the shop is open seems to work more reliably. Decor here is cute, and service is very friendly. If you like mochi donuts or regular donuts or cafe drinks, Donut Drop is well worth your business. read more

I believe this shop calls them "poof" donuts. They do not lie. The height on these donuts is not because they are dense, but because they are filled with a sweet combination of dough, air, and pure joy. I haven't tried too many of the different flavors yet, but the general notion I'm getting is that the flavors themselves are apparent, but not overwhelming. The star is really the base donut. Nothing I've tried overshadows the perfection of their "poof". read more

4.5 STARS The roommate adores donuts. When I was looking for places to check out while in the suburbs of Chicago, I bookmarked Donut Drop. We stopped by on Sunday, December 3rd around 11am. *Glazed Old Fashioned *Ginger Bread *Sugar twist *Glazed ring *Boston cream *Vanilla sprinkles I'm more of a fan of lighter doughnuts, so I liked to consistency of the donuts here. We went to a donut place before this and theirs were more cakey. I definitely liked these more. The boston cream was my fav. Fluffy with a good amount of cream. I also got a large hot coffee ($2.05 for 20oz) since I really needed some caffeine. Total with tax for everything was $7.89 which isn't bad for half a dozen donuts and a large coffee. One of the better donuts I've had in a while. If Donut Drop were in my neighborhood, I'd probably stop by about once a week. I do adore a good fluffy donut! read more

Great donuts! Coffee is good! Small ambience with limited seating and shirt operating hours. Service was good.

You know it's a good donut shop when they have a sign that says that they will close once they run out of donuts! That means everything is made fresh every day and that people are buying them and selling out! When I travel for work, I tend to scout the nearest donut shop and pick some up for clients I work with. This one popped up and I was so glad I "dropped" by. I loved that there was such a huge selection and i hated that I couldn't get them all! Came out with a couple of delicious donuts and the clients are still raving about them. I managed to nab the red velvet and that was amazing! Bookmarked again next time I'm in town and need some crowd pleasers! read more
