Great service, delicious donuts, and cookies, kid-friendly, and really just a great place to hang out with friends.

It appears this location was previously a Country Donuts and has since been sold. Unfortunately, the current name and font seem designed to create confusion. The quality of the donuts was disappointing. They tasted stale, and we didn't even finish the half dozen. The product does not come close to the quality associated with Country Donuts. My concern is that someone trying County Donuts may believe they've visited Country Donuts and avoid the real one based on this experience--which would be unfortunate. If you're looking for excellent donuts, I strongly recommend Country Donuts in Elgin or Crystal Lake. Please consider changing the name or signage to make the distinction clear for customers. read more

Donuts were 9/10, but that was due to timing, we went in the late evening, so most likely "day old donut" vibes. Next time I will aim for morning and I know they will be 10/10. My family loved all donuts we got! The one team member working was very nice and gave me his favorite donut recommendations. The inside of the restaurant however looked deserted and if it had not been taken care of for years. It was sad to see since their product is 'famous' and a must go when in Schaumburg. We headed hear after a night in the city thinking it was Country Donuts. I guess I need my reading glasses or have to enlarge the text on my screen. Anyway, this place is 24 hours. But it's located south of Old Schaumburg and not the mall area (Woodfield Mall, One Schaumburg Place, etc.) We pulled into the lot at around 10:30pm on a Friday night. There was no one there it seemed, but that's because the worker (owner, perhaps) was in the back filling up Boston Cream donuts. The fluorescent lighting was reminiscent of older 1950's diners with harsh lighting. Anyway, we entered the establishment and made our selections. Since he was freshly filling Boston Creams, we each ordered one. My wife also ordered a half dozen donut holes: three glazed, and three chocolate glazed. They were a nice size, but meh. I ordered a red velvet cake donut. Where the Boston Cream was yeasty with very little cream inside, the red velvet cake was soft, with gooey glaze and it just melted in your mouth with a smooth, velvety finish. This was the donut worth driving out there for. However, since we were driving to a location I thought was there, but wasn't. This still hit the spot. And is way better than the chain donut places every day of the week and twice on Sunday. read more

Each time I want to give this place a try they disappoint me. I miss the old Country Donut, when it tasted great. I'm not sure what happened if there was an owner take over and they maintained the name only.. Ambiance has been the same classic style they're going for. I sampled several donuts. Loved the chocolate coconut, very soft and tender, more chocolate than coconut, which is the way it should be because coconut can be very overpowering. This donut had it in the background, rather subtle and quite enjoyable. Next, the red velvet was more of a cake donut, but not heavy, rather light with just a hint of firmness... I could easily eat a half dozen of these.! Finally, I had the chocolate cream, which is a personal favorite of mine and was disappointed. Very small amount of chocolate cream injected into the donut and it was on the dry side, mostly powder and the donut was quite disappointing. Thus 3.8 is probably the proper ratings for this donut shop. Although , I gotta say the service was quite kind even though it was late morning.... Say 1030am when I visited. The shop wasn't busy, the girl that waited on me was very kind and quite pleasant. I had a quick sample of their coffee, which was probably 5.5-6.0 slightly above average . Nothing to write home about, but nothing to scoff at either. All in all, you could certainly do worse than this place, which is full of many different flavors & seems to be well run. Despite it being open 24 hours, it is a gamble on what donuts are fresh and which ones have been sitting for awhile. Service is good and the lady was very nice. I went to my favorite donut place close by but they now close at 8pm. I figured I'd give County Donuts another try after a long time after being very disappointed in the quality. - Boston cream filled 3 = good fluffy dough, generous custard filling and decent chocolate icing - Chocolate Cream filled 2 = each one not a consistent even size, way too oily, not enough chocolate flavor - Glazed Old Fashioned 1= oil is way too hot and they are trying to rush frying stage. Inside semi-raw, very oily/greasy and falling apart on the plate. They can't stay intact. - Raised donuts 1= They don't let them rise enough or are over proofing them before fry stage as they shrink and are semi flat! Overall the donuts are way too oily and you can see all the oil in the trays at the shop and also in the box at home. Inferior donut products. read more

Came here with my husband not too long ago for the first time. Upon walking in, we noticed the place was a bit plain and looked like a small old-school 90s diner with one long counter with circular stools next to the ordering counter. There are also a few stand-alone tables and chairs. Behind the counter are many racks of donuts and pastries, and the building is super bright inside. When we came, there was also such a nice girl working who gave us time to look at the different doughnuts that were available because there were many options; she even gave us some good suggestions. I am usually not a huge chocolate fan, but I ended up ordering the German Chocolate Cake one. AMAZING. It was so moist and fresh, and you can tell that the doughnuts here are freshly made every day. My husband ordered a plain chocolate one and enjoyed his, as well. We will for sure be back here because it's in a conveniently close location from us and there are just so many different flavors I want to try. I have so many cake ones I want to try, such as blueberry, cinnamon, seasonal cider, and chocolate coconut. They also have a bunch of other pastries available that aren't doughnuts: cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, cookies, brownies, and more. Another pro is that the doughnuts are fairly priced and better than a chain place. each donut is only $1.62, it's $9.04 for a half dozen, and $13.79 for a full dozen. Specialties and muffins are only $2.85 each, and bagels are $2.99 each with cream cheese. Ultimately, you don't have to like doughnuts to come here and find something you like. 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4. I'm not the typical early AM donut person, I usually go late in the evening and that's exactly what I did when I went here lol. I went around 7pm on a Thursday night and I was pleasantly surprised with the variety they have. All the traditional donuts plus some fun ones (mint chocolate, cherry, etc). We got a 1/2 dozen: red velvet (my favorite), German chocolate (meh, kind of dry), marble ring (meh), old fashion (2nd favorite), mint chocolate (decent) and Bavarian (it was okay). Service was great, the woman there was friendly and had a big smile on her face. We felt welcomed just by her smile! The place itself is an old school donut stop, I love this feel and vibe. This place has been around since the 90s (maybe more) and there's a reason for that - Taste, service and the atmosphere are all great! So I drove out to Hoffman estates for these affordable doughnuts! Wanted to try them out and get out of the city. Of course there's a parking lot right outside. Very friendly staff working right at the front. I was so shocked they had Bavarian creme doughnuts!! Those are my favorite doughnuts from Dunkin' but not all the locations have them anymore. Went in at 7:30 on a Sunday morning while visiting from out of town. Employees were nice but donuts were basically cardboard. They advertise as being open 24hrs, my guess is that's how old the donuts are. Good job at basically being a Dunkin' Donuts where they don't even fry donuts anymore onsite. Reviews are misleading. The selection was great but the donuts were all stale, definitely not fresh which is quite surprising for early morning on a Saturday. Out of the variety of 14 donuts we picked, only one was fresh. So here we found a spot! They make their donuts in house and have fun flavors like chocolate mint, red velvet, and honeydew. I have yet to try honeydew but I'm a big fan of the chocolate mint and red velvet. Both are cake donuts. If you're a fan of the raised/yeast versions they have those too. And because he donuts are made in house, they're always fresh! Both versions are fluffy, and I've found the cake donuts last a couple days at home if stored in a sealed container. If you're looking for other things that are not donuts, they make frosted cookies and other pastries as well.
