On a Sunday afternoon I was passing through Springfield and decided to give this place a shot. It was around 2:30 pm, and to my surprise most of the donuts were available. Strawberry banana cream was my favorite donut. There was banana frosting on top and strawberry jelly and creme filling mixture inside. Coconut custard was really good as well. The signature sour cream donut had a cakey texture and good as well. I tried the new york crumble cake. That was nice as well. My conclusion for donut is 1. Strawberry banana cream donut was the best 2. filled donuts are better 3. look for interesting fillings when you go. Flavors like banana strawberry cream keeps changing. For coffee, Banana Foster was an excellent choice. Essentially it is a cold coffee with banana, cinnamon, vanilla and rum flavor added. I got cream and sugar added to it. That was a good one to try, coffee with a hint of banana. Hot latte was good as well. read more

If I could leave ZERO STARS, I WOULD! I'm paraplegic in a wheelchair . I called and explained that , asked for a list of Donut flavors so my PCA could come get a dozen for me. This place has multiple health code violations and needs to closed down. I went to visit Donut Dip last week because I heard great things about it. I ordered an iced coffee and a bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin, and of course a plain glazed donut. First things first, the whole kitchen or area where they make the sandwiches is one of the most disgusting things I had ever seen. One girl was washing dishes on an almost disintegrated sink which looks like it's falling apart, splashing dish soap all over my sandwich. There was also black hair in the bacon and they cook the egg and bacon in a dirty ass microwave. Second, the ice coffee is honestly so gross and you get can a way better coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. Although the donuts are kinda decent I wouldn't say they're any special and honestly taste like a regular donut which you can easily get at Dunkin Donuts. Honestly this whole place is so old and gross and no way they pass inspections. I also did hear rumors about this place that the only reason they are still open is because the owner and boss of this business is friends with the inspector. Overall I am disappointed and grossed out, the whole please needs to either be re done or shut down because this place is just so gross. read more

This place has been great for as long as I can remember. I was crushed to hear that the East Longmeadow location had to close but am just happy that Donut Dip is still a thing in West Springfield. Without them there's only Dunkin, which isn't even in the same league with the quality of the Dip. My recommendation would be the Sour Cream frosted (both frosted & plain), Old Fashioned (with a coffee to dip into), and the amazing Black Raspberry Bismark, which are indescribably good. Anything you order here is going to be good because they use quality ingredients and don't pump them full of preservatives like some other places. If you're in the area you gotta go in. read more

A happy accident!! I got off at the wrong exit off of 91 and stumbled onto "The Dip" as we called it and what a treat it was! The décor is old school and it's awesome, a throw back to the good old days. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, they make you feel like you're coming over their house. The donuts are delicious, plain and simple. We also had some hot chocolate and that was fantastic! We liked this place so much we stopped in again on our return trip going home. I went around noon and they had a decent variety available but they were out of chocolate glazed which I really wanted to try so that's why I grabbed the last bag of chocolate donut holes they had. I started with the classic, a honey dip... it was okay, nothing special. The sour cream donut? I actually didn't care for. The chocolate donut holes seemed a bit dry but the flavor was good. It was very dense and somewhat sour. The blueberry filled was mediocre, the filling was not sweet, but tangy, I would pass on that one. There were mixed reviews online regarding several of the donuts but we pressed on anyway. I found this place by mistake when overnight fog forced me off the highway and as I was looking for a place to pulled over I saw this heavenly Sight. So I took a little nap till the fog broke and I went for a donut and donuts they had. I was on my way to visit a friend so I grabbed a few ( dozen) and oh boy they were delicious. I've eaten a lot of donuts in the search for the very best ones. And I'm convinced there is no one best donut shop. So far, each place has the things it does well, and the things that don't quite measure up to other establishments. There is a reason people gush about Donut Dip. Holy cow, those donut shells are fantastic. All of them. The yeast raised are light, have such a rich elastic crumb, and some even have a delightful bit of crispness on the exterior. The cake donuts have a hard fried crunch that yields to a tender interior crumb, they too are fantastic. The place where Donut Dip falls short is with its toppings, flavors, and fillings. Neither the chocolate frosting nor the chocolate creme had a deep cocoa flavor. They were brown, but both tasted more like sugar than anything else, and that's a shame. I had high hopes for the black raspberry jelly donuts, but the filling contained those dreaded gummy bits that are supposed to mimic the presence of actual fruit. The apple cider and pumpkin donuts were fine, but didn't quite rise to the level of the more traditional offerings on the shelf. If you've never had a better apple cider donut than the ones at this shop, then I'd highly recommend a trip to some of the better orchards that surround New York's Capital Region. That said, the toasted coconut was truly fantastic. It's a flavor that can be cloyingly sweet, but here was not. The exterior coconut was golden brown, and super crisp. The blueberry jelly had pieces of real fruit inside, and was also one of my favorites. And the honey dipped weren't bad, but I do prefer a bit more crackle in my glaze. Without a doubt, this place is far, far superior to the mass market donut chain that litters the local landscape. And I'm going to come back here pretty much every time I drive back to Albany from Providence. Especially because Donut Dip was out of sour cream donuts on my last visit. Hopefully after the next dozen, I'll have found enough winners to elevate this amazing shop to five stars. I'm sure they are there. It's just a matter of getting them into my belly. read more
