We've been stopping here to pick up donuts and holes for the kids before school past few months, about once every week or two? Donuts aren't great but location is so convenient and really, the kids & their friends don't care. Pricing was always off to me, by a little so whatever. Today we picked up two boxes of donut holes for v'day and two regular donuts for my girls. Super sweet lady helped us. The guy charges us $16 and change, I'm expecting around $12 so stop in on my way back from dropping off the kids to ask. He re-rings it up. $11.60. Oh really? ...you didn't order drinks? Nope. Ok, 4 donuts and 6 dozen holes...$14 and change. No sir...2 donuts. Oh! Plus the boxes! I had to charge you for the boxes! Seriously? Talk about pulling $hit out of the air. So he gives me a couple bucks back and continues to explain how he wouldn't have charged me if I had bought more. How about just ringing me up correctly in the first place. One of my go to spots in Milpitas! The donuts here are soft, fresh, and sweet. The icing to dough ratio isn't over powering. Their apple fritters are relatively small, but they are delicious, apple-ly and cinnamon-y. However, I wish there was more apple in the donut. They also throw in some free donut holes, which is pretty awesome. Service is quick and nice and they always have a smile on their place. The only thing that sucks is that if you come late, they run out of donuts like the apple fritter. read more

I rarely eat donuts, but occasionally I have a craving for an apple fritter and this Donut Basket location makes the best! They make their donuts fresh every day. There's times when we would pass by in the early mornings and we'd see them busily making those delectable treats. This is definitely a place for the local neighborhood to gather, read the paper, drink coffee and much on freshly made donuts. I used to live in a nearby neighborhood with my children. As a treat we would come down here in the morning and I would get them their own little bag of donut holes and a carton of milk for breakfast. Now I get to take my grand baby... Ham and cheese croissant : $3.25 it didn't look that great and it wasn't. The croissant was really doughy instead of being light and flakey. They skimped on the ham and cheese as I could barely taste any. But the owner gave me fresh jalapenos when I asked for it. Maple bar : $0.89 the donut is a little too heavy for my liking bc I prefer light and fluffy donuts but it.gets the job done when I have a craving! Donut holes: $1.75 I believe? This was the most disappointing, super stale, and they weren't glazed evenly. If I was rating based on donuts holes only, I'd give this place one star Initially, I gave donut basket 3 stars but as I've tried more items here, I keep becoming dissatisfied. Walked in because it's next to Sen Dai and I was craving something sweet after lunch. Maybe it's because it was later in the day (2:30PM), but donut holes were 8 for $1!!!! Not sure how much they are in the morning, but I'm sure they're still inexpensive and even fresher. Will come back at bfast time to try their good looking sandwich selection and buy some donuts for the family. Also, 5 stars because the guy working was nice, funny, hospitable, and made my day. Coming to San Jose from LA, we always make a stop here! The owners at this donut shop are always friendly, outgoing, nice, and always smiling which brightens our day!! Every time we come they would always remember us and ask us how we are doing. Which is a nice feeling, makes you feel like family!! We visited this donut shop because we read an article about it, and we were not disappointed. The donuts were so yummy, my breakfast sandwich was delish, and the coffee was great donut shop coffee. But above all and what stood out was the service. The woman who helped us was so sweet! She was kind and helpful. I was with my two young sons and she heard one say he was thirsty and she immediately gave him a bottle of water and she saw my youngest one licking his lips and he looked at the donut holes and she gave him some free donut holes. It's not too big of a donut shop. The parking lot can get filled up sometimes, but not in the morning. Maybe if I went at an earlier time, this place would have gotten three stars. But I went at 12 noon to get some donuts and they had about 4 left. So if you want donuts from here, you're better coming in early. The people that work here are nice though. As for the taste, it's a donut. They taste like regular donuts. Howeverrr to me I'd much rather take the extra 2 min drive down Calaveras to Christy's donuts. Much more variety. read more

Came here during the holidays based on Nextdoor recommendations n wow not only did I love the donuts, but the service was highly commendable. I took my 5 year old n she gave us a couple of donuts n holes as complimentary on our small order. Even when I offered her a tip she refused to take it since she thought I was paying for the complimentary items. While out in Milpitas for a piano lesson, I found myself hungry and saw this little place. Located in a small shopping center I found easy parking and hopped right in , The cashier was super friendly, cheerful and helpful. With a smile and asking how my morning was I felt welcomed and really added to a nice morning. With quick effort I was up and paying, in and outward to my day. The inside is small with just a few small tables and the place is a bit bland, but it's clean, charming in its small way and I found it quite comfortable. It is like a mom and pop shop, with great service and a cuteness to it. The donut I got was soft and the cream cheese was yummy. The chocolate donut I got was also super soft, not too chewy and fluffy the way it should be. Fresh, tasty and oh so good in the morning! Yum! read more

Delicious, light, sweet doughnuts that are not overpoweringly saccharine. What's not to like? The dough is very light, which is a weird attribute to doughnuts, but it's true. I like to get the doughnut holes for a change, and it's harder to feel guilty when you eat doughnut holes than eating a couple doughnuts... hahaha. Tried a couple donut shops in Milpitas and this one easily sells the largest donuts. When my 6 year old nephew is in town for the summer I always pick up donuts for him every Sunday. It's a tiny little shop in the same plaza as Sen Dai Sushi and Bob's Liquor. Parking is never a problem because the Sushi place is closed while the donut place is open. The workers here are very nice, you can tell it's family owned. They also have breakfast sandwiches served on a croissant. They're pretty decent, but the sandwich quality has gone down from what I remember years ago. The eggs are made earlier in the morning and when you're ready to order they just take the pre-made egg and pop it in the microwave. read more

Two words: croissant sandwiches. I had come in on my lunch break to get a croissant sandwich because I had been craving one all week, and this small Mom & Pop donut shop did not disappoint in any way. The lady at the counter (and who probably owned the shop) came out from the back of shop all smiles and hellos. Instantly liked her customer service! I asked first if she accepted card (which most small places don't, and if they do they need a minimum of $5 or something), and she said she did with a minimum of $1 spent, which was totally fine by me! Then I ordered the Turkey Croissant Sandwich (turkey, lettuce, cheese, and mayo). You also have a choice of a dark croissant or a light croissant, and I ended up getting the light croissant which was more buttery. I also got a sugar donut as well. The price was basically nothing, just about $5. The actual croissant itself? SOOOOOOO FLAKY AND BUTTERY. I can't even describe just how amazing that croissant was, you'll just have to go out and buy it. All in all, very great experience here! read more

This is a good place for doughnuts. You can pick any doughnut and you wouldn't go wrong. This place always make breakfast and regular sandwiches. They make the sandwiches in front of you and you can customize the sandwich. The place is owned by a family and they are super nice to everyone who comes in. I had a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese and my total was $2.20. Cream cheese cheese cost $1.00 LIKE WHAT.. Smart business move because I'd never get a bagel without cream cheese. As for the bagel itself, it was more fluffy than I'm used too. I prefer a bagel with more of a chew, something with more character. I guess that's what you get for buying a bagel at a donut shop. Been a regular here for awhile now, and what's always kept me coming back is the great food and the owner who is one of the nicest people I know. Usually I come here in the morning and get a croissant breakfast sandwich, which is consistently very delicious. The donuts are good, but their croissants are the best, very popular which is why I come in the morning. Ed, the owner, is super chill and is really cool with all his regulars. If places could be reviewed on friendliness alone, this place is at five stars the minute you walk in. I don't get a chance to come here often, but I make it a point to stop in. It's always clean, with it's hasn't-been-remodeled-since-the-70s decor, and I've never had a problem with donut selection at any time of day. I am a big fan of their rather large refrigerated drink choices, from bottled water to sodas to juices and milk. I have yet to run into the problem of not having a lot of donuts left to choose from, and it's 3:30pm now. Honestly, if they only have one donut left, I'm gonna eat it. It's a donut. A good one.
