Buddy with Don's Lock and Key was fantastic. We had 12 locks that needed re-keyed and or the hardware replaced as they were fairly old. He took the time to walk us through all the options, making sure we were happy with the selections. He even saved us some money too! I really appreciate how Buddy made sure we were satisfied with his work before he left. He's really nice and a top-notch professional! read more

Called AAA after locking the key to my Vette in the car in the Planet Fitness parking lot. I was quickly informed that my vehicle was on the list of "High Security" vehicles and that the cost would be $250 of which they would cove $100. So my out of pocket cost would be $150. Don's lock and key called me promptly after being c ntacted by AAA and asked a few pertinent questions about the vehicle and informed me that this info would make the technicians visit go much faster. FASTER would be the underestimate of the year. The tech (I think it was Don himself!) showed up within the hour with a "Secret" key (Vette owners will know what I'm referring to) opened my vehicle in a second and had me on my way. Oh and did I forget to mention no $150 out of pocket!! Old school great service at a fair, covered by triple A price. Thank you for the great SERVICE. read more

They ignored my response to their emails requesting my information and continued to request the same information multiple times. Never did come up with a estimate to my RFP. Sad. read more

Great service and quick. Very much appreciated their expertise in making copies of my unconventional key.

We have used Don's Lock & Key for many years. They always come in prepared to do the work. If they don't have a part or a key, they will provide an estimate of when they will return. Polite & professional to deal with, they will stand behind their work. The last time they came in a few days ago, it was great customer service as usual. I'm all set up to use my massive tool boxes. I wouldn't use anyone else. read more

Locksmith was very responsive and comprehensive in his service. Price was very reasonable.

Dons's lock & key did a Fabulous job on our old building. we had a stubborn door that was very hard to get a key for and we tried two times and no luck. However, Liz and Rebecca were very kind and did everything they could to remedy the situation. They sent Julio over to check it out and he was able to custom make the keys we needed. Thanks a bunch from all the staff at the Riverside county bar association building. Going the extra mile for your customers go a long way. read more

Completely satisfied customer! Don's gave me a very fair quote for what was essentially changing one lock. Even though it was not an emergency, I received same day service- plus a call from dispatch when the locksmith was 10 minutes out. A very nice touch! When he arrived, Jesse was courteous, professional, and went above and beyond. Noticing that there were several things about my door that were not done correctly, he took the extra time to explain what was wrong and then fixed the problem, which had been driving me nuts for years. He only charged me for one small additional part and no extra labor, since he had to take it all apart anyway. That kind of ownership by a field employee is what earns my loyalty. It not only shows that the company owners put their customers ahead of earning very small additional profit, but that they create an employee environment where associates are trusted and empowered to do the right thing. No surprise to me that Jesse has been with Don's for 16 years. Great to know I can depend on Don's in the future. read more

Buddy at Dons Lock and Key came out to the house for what we thought was going to make a new car key for the one my daughter had misplaced. Turned out her ex husband took her set of keys which includes her car and house keys. Buddy not only made her car key but rekeyed the entire house. He was very efficient, professional, courteous and all in just over an hour. I'd call Dons Lock and Key just to have Buddy help us. He made us very comfortable and at ease The price was surprisingly less than I thought it was going to be. Thank you so much Buddy and for caring and being human. read more

I was very disappointed in this AAA-recommended service. I accidentally locked my house keys inside the house the other day, and called AAA for help. The tech that came to my house never introduced himself and wouldn't tell me his name when I asked. I got the distinct impression that he thought I was a stupid woman that locked myself out of my house (I hold two masters degrees, so I am far from ignorant). Then he charged me $100 for 30 seconds of work. If this ever happens to me again or if anyone ever asks, I would not recommend Don's Lock and Key. addendum: I see that other people have rated the service very highly. Perhaps it was the individual that came out to my house. Still, I expect to be treated with respect and dignity when in a very nerve-wracking situation, and I felt I was not. read more

I had bought a key online since it was significantly cheaper than paying for a key at a shop. I had called and they said they would be able to program it so I came it and the workers there had a gross attitude. The guy then said he would only be able to program the key to unlock and lock my car, but not start it. I would have to pay $200-$400 for a new key which is pretty ridiculous. It's kind of pathetic that a business that specializes in keys can't do something so simple. Turns out, I was literally able to do it myself. It was as easy as transferring my current transponder into the new key. Cost me absolutely nothing to do it myself, now I have a brand new key that unlocks, locks, and starts my car. I knew nothing about car keys and transponders and yet I could do what they couldn't, lmao screw this place read more

After 8:30 on a Saturday night after a 12 hour shift I locked my keys in my trunk. The trunk I manually locked from the outside AND locked the backseats because I work in a sketchy area. I called AAA who dispatched Tom from Don's Lock & Key. He was very professional and efficient. He called when AAA said he would. Confirmed he'd be there in an hour and was on time. He quoted me the same price as AAA (I've been ripped off before by people AAA sent) and told me exactly what needed to be done. In under 25 minutes he made me a new key, unlocked my trunk and verified it worked! Thanks so much you were very appreciated! read more

Amazing service and price! I called all the riverside locksmiths and got similar estimates but don's lock and key quoted 1/3 the price! They came immediately, re-keyed my back door, made multiple copies of keys for us, all within 15 minutes! We are so pleased with the service we received today. read more

BEWARE! It should be called DISHONEST DONS! Had them come out to change out a bad electronic lock on my safe. After he left I went to change the combo of the lock and too my surprise found my 6 BU uncirculated silver dollars missing worth about 2,000.00. I call up the tech. and of coarse he denied it. It was also easy to spot them missing because there were only 6 in the safe. So I called his shop and talked to Liz would said she will ask him about it. Hello! what do you think he said. I did not take them. To make the story worst he told me is services would be 500.00 but if I paid cash it would be 400.00. He was there 2 hours and the part was 50.00. So the experience cost me about 2,400.00. Also Liz said she would email me a receipt. Im still waiting. My advise to all of you find a different locksmith. Mike L. read more

Wow what amazing service! After hours and hours of searching for my car keys I had to admit that they had vanished and I was not getting them back. I drive by this place all the time so I figured I'd give them a call. The experiences started with the gentleman on the phone. Very nice guy, upfront and honest. He immediately told me the price range for the key and that it would be up to an hour and a half before they could get there. It's late at night and I expected a wait so I wasn't worried about it. They weren't even a minute late. They arrived well within their quoted time in a nice clean fully equipped van. The man was professional, courteous and helpful even indulging my kids when they asked questions. Staying true to the experience, he was upfront with us from the beginning telling us exactly what to expect as far as end results and price. He was finished within his estimated time. For fast, reliable, professional locksmith services don't go anywhere else. Believe me we have used a few and they did the job but we will never go anywhere else again! Needed keys duplicated for a rental home I just purchased in Hollywood. I called Dons to compare their prices with those self operating automated machines you find all over. Jesse from Don's Lock and Key miraculously repaired our 50-year-old Security door which had bowed in center over the years, preventing the lockset from operating correctly. We went through 3 locksets in 5 years because they all failed because of the bow in the center of the door. Jesse was helpful in explaining the problem and resourceful in getting the lock to work again. I recommend Jesse and Don's Lock And Key for any problems you might have with locks. He said that everyone thinks the lock is to blame but in most cases, it is the door. He was right! He did a great job, far beyond our expectations and the price was very reasonable for all his work. We needed to change our house locks A.S.A.P, because someone in our house accidentally left the house key at a place of business. I'd purchased a used Yakima cargo box for our SUV, which didn't come with any keys. I took the thing to the Don's Lock & Key storefront, on the corner of Indiana and Arlington. Within 30 minutes the locksmith there made 2 keys for the existing lock (not copying from an existing key) for a great price. I dinged them one star because I called the Saturday before, left a message, and didn't get a call back. Perhaps understandable because of my odd request & lack of urgency in the message, but still not the best over-the-phone experience. read more

I needed a jump start and they sent TJ and he arrived earlier than expected. Really nice guy; I had one of those rough mornings where I couldn't find my keys and lost track of the time. Yet he waited patiently for me outside of my location to get what I needed and wasn't the slightest bit irritated having to deal with my antics. He worked diligently and was able to get me back on the road on time to pick up my godson. In addition, he said if I had any additional trouble just call back and he'll be able to get my car jump started again. Thank you thank you TJ! read more

Wow! I was amazed with the customer service from the "get go" to the finished product. My truck was broken into, and the tow truck driver for AAA told me to give Don's Lock & Key a call and that I wouldn't be disappointed with the service. He was absolutely "spot on!" The cost was extremely less than taking it to the dealership, and they came to me which helped out tremendously! Last Friday evening we left our locked house to drive to a restaurant before we discovered my husband and I both thought the other had the Fob for our vehicle. Unfortunately our house key was on the ring with our vehicle key and Fob-and it was locked inside our house! At least the weather was warm. We phoned AAA and learned it might take an hour before anyone would be able to assist us. Fortunately about 35 minutes later Angel arrived and had our door open in minutes, and we were able to retrieve our house and vehicle keys. We actually made it to a restaurant. Angel was very efficient and professional. We were on our way with a minimal delay. read more

I've been using Don't lock and key for rentals for a few years now. They always show up on time and do great work. Yesterday though they really helped us out. Our office door has been extremely difficult to lock for years. While re-keying the door for us, technician Buddy noticed how difficult getting it aligned was and fixed it without being asked. We can now get our door locked without jiggling and using both hands to turn the key. Everyone in our office is just thrilled with how it works now. We couldn't be happier. read more

Called at 1:00 o' clock on a Friday afternoon & within 3o minutes Sam the technician, first before just walking in he announced himself & wearing a mask, entered the Office. He was working on our store front door (broken key inside lock) and had it removed within minutes. Used our other available keys to make certain the lock was not compromised and did not try to do an up-sale. Very impressed with this Company & Sam & will definitely be using again & referring them to our clients. Thank you read more
