Canceled my flight back to California and decided to stop by Donjito, Hands down the best food I had in all of New York, perfect blend of culture and taste of food I've ever had 10/10, would recommend to anybody in the area. read more

The food, the atmosphere and the service are great here. Euri was our server. Friendly without hovering. We had four different dishes--steak with onions, ropa vieja, churassasco, and shrimp in garlic sauce. All were delicious! read more

Had a great dinner on a Friday evening with the family. Our waiter Eury was very attentive and friendly. The food and ambience in the patio was great. A hidden gem in Mamaroneck. read more

My husband and I happened to walk by this place when looking for a place for dinner. We live an hour away and we would travel here again for the amazing service from Eury, the atmosphere and the phenomenal food! Eury recommended the specials and he was spot on because it was delicious! Eury has a great positive attitude and the food was out of this world! I would recommend it over and over again! and the garden seating is a plus! stunning! read more

Appetizers and drinks were good. Main dish (Mofongo/Pernil) was not tasty as expected. Pernil was dry and usually a mofongo is served with a garlic sauce and this dish had a gravy that I personally didn't enjoy. There was not clear information among the servers about the happy hours option and apparently it's only served in the bar area. read more

This was our first experience at Donjito and we were very impressed, and can't wait to come back! Larinzon was such a courteous and friendly member of the staff! Every bite of food was delicious and can't wait to try more on the next trip to the restaurant! Highly recommend to anyone! read more

We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was super delicious! A Dee had Norris tacos and freshly made delicious guacamole! Overall Great food and service! read more

This was my first time here. We were seated right away. Some of our guests arrived early. The restaurant is on the smaller side. When you walk into the right, they have a bar area and the left is all the seating and dining. When we arrived for our reservation, our waiter greeted us at the table. He took our order of drinks. It took about 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive was not very happy with the delay in service. Shortly there after our appetizers arrived. Our apps were really good. The Asian ribs were disappointing. However, the dumplings were excellent. For dinner we had the bistec encebollado, churrasco mofongo, and the spicy avocado sushi roll. Dinner was great. For dessert we had the Tres leches and the chocolate Tres leches, which was delicious. We originally had asked our waiter for two separate checks which he had agreed to. When it came time to get our check, he dropped off one check. It was a bit of an issue to get the breakdown into two separate checks and to find our waiter. We ended up speaking with the owner who helped us and also extended us a discount for the error. I will definitely have to consider coming back. The food was good so I may opt for takeout versus dine in. read more

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Don Jito's last night, and the entire experience was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm and inviting great vibes, outdoor patio seating, and even a couple of social-media-worthy photo ops that made the night even more memorable. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were hands down the best I've ever had perfectly crisp on the outside and glazed in a sweet chili sauce that hit every note. I also had the mussels in blanco sauce, and the broth was packed with deep, rich flavor absolutely top tier. For dinner, I went with the Lobster Stir Fry, which was not only visually stunning but layered with flavor in every bite. My wife had the Honey Glazed Salmon, and it was equally impressive a beautiful crunch on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. We also tried both the Red and White Sangria refreshing, well-balanced, and delicious. Our server, Edgar, was fantastic attentive and personable. And when John (the owner) found out it was our anniversary, he surprised us with a complimentary dessert. That level of service and hospitality goes a long way. I will have to come back to add photos of the food, it was so good we got right to eating lol Don Jito's hit every mark food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion. We'll definitely be back. read more

The food was pretty good but there was no one there we were the only people in there i mean it makes sense it was early in the day. The service was mostly good nice staff but slow service. The setup there wasn't a lot of space but pretty nice setup. read more

We had a party of 11 on a Saturday night that we were able to make reservations for the week before. We were sat promptly and everyone was very friendly and professional. The latin sushi was sooo good, I had the tres golpes roll and someone else had the surf and turf roll and the king of Mamaroneck roll which all were very good. I took off a star because there were a couple of hiccups like adding salt to margarita when asked not to and also not getting an appetizer and then getting double of another. However no big deal it was a big party and a lot of orders. Otherwise everything was great and decently priced. We def want to go again and try other items. read more

We went here for Restaurant Week and it was decent. The portion sizes were really big. I had the cucumber bites, chuleta kan kan and the tres leche while my husband had the risotto balls, the churassco and the flan. The chuleta kan kan was good big that I brought home half for my lunch for the next day. Both appetizers and desserts were good. The entrées were cooked well, but was missing something. I think they could be better. Wait service was very nice and attentive, but the entrees did take a really long time to come out. read more

The menu looked interesting so we decided to eat at this place. It's a nice quaint spot and in addition to the regular menu they had a restaurant week menu offering 3 courses. The margaritas were a little in the sweet side even though I ordered a skinny but still good. I ordered for the restaurant week menu but there was a mixup because 20 minutes after I ordered the waiter came back to let me know there was a mistake - that I had ordered 2 entrees which I hadn't realized because it was not clearly indicated on the menu. It was a really long wait for food and I ended up with a Latin roll (the entree) which came out first and the sancocho came out second which was my appetizer. Since they had already started the sushi roll, that's what I got even though I would have preferred the steak- churrasco. The food was tasty, very good flavor and tasted fresh. It was pretty quiet on a Wednesday evening so the noise level was perfect for conversation. The music was good and the art on the walls gave the place some character. read more

What an amazing spot at the beginning of the Mamaroneck strip of restaurants. Great way to start or end your night. Latin fusion cuisine with a warm, instagram-able decor. Live Latin jazz trio made the evening even more enjoyable. The food is exactly what you would expect with your Ropa Vieja on the menu along with some surprises as well. The City Island was a great change of pace with the fried shrimp and fish rice. The drinks are also very good especially the Sangria. Not too sweet...just right. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The manager comes over and greets you and ensure you have a great time and meal. Bring the family or friends for a fun night. read more

A great find in Mamaroneck. This is our 2nd visit to Donjito and it was as good or better than our last. They have a great list of cocktails and I had the Mango Mezcal Margarita which was great. Started withj Guac and chips which were pretty good. I sampled both the Ropa Vieja and the Roasted Pernil. Growing up in FL I had better Ropas. This was good, but didn't have the simmered all day taste. The Pernil is amazing. Service was great and they kept water glasses full even after we had finished dinner and were talking. This is a fun place with great food and service plus the decor is fun and warm. read more

I hosted my bridal shower at Donjito early on a Saturday, and everything was wonderful! The food was delicious, and Bruno was amazing--so attentive and accommodating with our large party of 19. I came here for the first time to celebrate my birthday. A special shout-out to Augusto & Bruno. ESPECIALLY BRUNO. He made us feel welcomed from the very beginning! The customer service and hospitality provided was A1! (This is coming from someone who is in the industry). The food was amazing. Me and my friend had Calamari, Pork Dumplings, The Salmon, Lomo, and 2 different flavored margaritas. Everything was flavorful and really good! The ambience is also amazing. I can't wait to come back. My birthday was made very special. Thank you Donjito for the hospitality. I plan to make this one of my new spots! read more

I really enjoyed this place! It was an accidental dinner when attending a family member's 'pop-up' event. The food was delicious. My dish was expertly cooked to perfection. Hands down my favorite place to eat in town! 5 star service and food. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is so great, every dish is so flavorful with creative combinations. I loved their honey Serrano shrimp and the corn risotto was surprising that it was not creamy but excellent in texture and once i added some tomatillo suave i ate all of it happily. It could use a little more spice, that is mot only comment. The honey brussel sprouts and amazing also. But all in all the chicken enchilada was so good and different than a typical restaurant. Loved the service, they could use a little more light though. read more

Nice fun, lively atmosphere. Come here for laughs, nice ambiance but don't expect too much from the food. We've tried many of the entrees and while completely serviceable, nothing has ever drawn us to come back (except for our friends loving the vibe here). Dishes either had dry rice, over or under seasoned, low quality cuts of meat (fatty, a bit tough) or were missing elements. Drinks were shockingly light and I was even served a lower quality whiskey when I decided to switch over to a neat top shelf bourbon. Likely a mistake but a novice bartender can have a ripple effect. Churros were greasy and of low quality, try the other desserts. Not sure what the hype is about besides it being a fun spot with a lot of birthday parties. Check it out but tread lightly through the menu! read more

The unique food options were great. The wait staff was wonderful. I was in town visiting but I would absolutely go back when I return.

I saw this place come up on my Instagram and instantly knew I wanted to try out. I love a place that offers Al fresco dinning. From the very beginning their welcome was super warm and inviting. The servers were very attentive and accommodating. I can't really point the kind of cuisine it is as there is an array of options. ALL WORTH IT! The ONLY thing that I wasn't too happy about was that the outdoor space did have any music. It would be nice to be able to hear what the inside has as the music seemed pretty good and current. All in all- it was great and v family friendly. 9.5/10 for me read more
