We went heavy on appetizers; shishito peppers (not for the faint of heart), Pastrami egg rolls (everyone's fave), Crispy artichokes and Hummus (awesome pita! Mom's favorite). The Shrimp & Lobster Mac and cheese was a standout. Loved by all. Chicken Shawarma was fine. Pot of Mussels was very good (not the "moules" you'd find in Brussels, but they stand on their own merits.) Lovely evening.

Now after this unpleasant experience and having an awkward service will not recommend or come back.

Our party of 9 was seated in the dining area in the back of the restaurant, where it's a little quieter and more intimate - perfect for our occasion. The area's changed the last 10-15 years or so - small boutique stores replaced by banks and a lot more franchises popping up in the area, but I'm glad that there's something repping the hometown people.

It was so delicious! I still think about it often. I am not a fan of watermelon but I found the watermelon arugula salad to be very refreshing. The calamari and shrimp were delicious. I also enjoyed the sausage and beans. I ordered a blood orange margarita both times I've been here and the drinks have been consistent. I also had their chocolate tortino a la mode, which was pretty good. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet which I appreciated. I definitely will be back for the schizzetto. Looking forward to returning soon!

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ New England Seafood Chowder - Very good. Came out piping hot and had lots of potato chunks, carrots and fish inside. Only knock is we wish we had more! + Clam Pizza - Personal pie size pizza. Honestly, just the right size. Verrrrry delicious and verrrrry flavorful, BUTTTTT the flavor didn't come from the clams - it came from the over-dominating flavor of the bacon scattered all over the pizza. Not to say that the bacon flavor was bad, but it could have used more clams. + Kids Mac and Cheese - Gooey just the way we, especially our kids, love it. + Grilled Angus Burger - Solid burger. Cooked medium and it was the right shade of pink inside, but the burger was a litttttle dry. It was not dripping juices and oil as I would prefer. Plenty of fries onions on it though. Fries reminded me of the thin McD fries. + Steak Tacos - Just 2 tacos. Would have liked if it was an order of 3. Steak was good though. Guac inside mixed with the steak chunks definitely made it better considering that the steak was well done. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Friendly and courteous waiter. Accommodated our numerous ketchup requests and never forgot anything. + Food came out VERY quickly. - For the Grilled Angus Burger, cheese did not come with it for free, but the waiter asked what cheese I wanted, which misled me to think that cheese came with the order. I ended up adding swiss cheese, which definitely made the burger better, but it was an extra charge. The extra $2 for the cheese was not the issue, but the way that I felt that the waiter misled me was the issue. Instead of asking what cheese I wanted, he should have asked "Would you like cheese with your order?" It's the principle. Feel me? Because of this, had to knock off a star off what would have been a 4-star review. THE SURROUNDINGS -------------------------------- + Private parking lot was in the back. All of the spaces in the front are for the Rye Train Station and paid, so DO NOT park in front of the restaurant if you're here to dine. + SUPER spacious restaurant with 2 levels - 2nd level seems like it is for private parties. 1st level has 3 dining areas PLUS a nice, huge bar area. + Multiple TVs located by the bar. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- + Came by on a random August Friday at 11:45 AM and, as expected, it was pretty quiet at first, but business picked up verybquickly and it became pretty busy by 12:45.

Along with the course there are tennis courts, a swimming pool, and club house. Our dining experience was a delight. We started with the edamame & roasted beet hummus, which was fresh and flavorful - we couldn't get enough of it. We also ordered firecracker shrimp that had great flavor. For the main course we ordered the summer squash bucatini, grilled filet mignon, mahi mahi kabobs, and sea bass. The summer squash bucatini was fresh, light, and flavorful - a great summer pasta. The grilled filet mignon was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The mahi mahi kabobs were cooked beautifully on top of fresh greens, quinoa, and pickled onions. The sea bass was wrapped in banana leaves and steamed with julianne vegetable and Himalayan rice - exquisite! For dessert, we indulged in the raspberry sorbet, the brownie sundae, and the midnight mousse cake. Each dessert was a sweet ending to an already impressive meal. The ice cream in the sundae was substituted with raspberry sorbet topped with sprinkles, delicious! The staff is friendly, personable, and attentive - we were taken great care of!
