Classic train station Dive bar in the BEST possible way! Gary my bartender went out of his way to make me feel comfortable .. as Gary and Denis we're doing daily maintenance and cleaning they took time to chat, pour me a perfect Guinness and offer me Popcorn , pretzels rosa or Twizlers !! Love the old school common sense service and gritty but comfortable decor.. after I missed my stop Cellar Bar was the cure for my anxiety and that had nothing to do w the perfect Guinness and heavy handed shot of Jamison ( under $15 for both) .. This place is solid. Very laid back, especially for Larchmont. Everyone I met here, literally everyone, whether they were staff or patron (and the line between the two was very blurry) was super-friendly. The cellar bar unapologetically reeks of urine and men with poor hygiene. My friend and I went in to ask for a cocktail around midnight. Bartender responded that he did not feel like making a drink. When I asked if they served drinks, and the bartender answered that they did serve cocktails but he just didn't want to make one. Ladies: avoid this place- just go home. You're welcome. read more

Love this bar so much, but just had the most unfortunate run-in with the "manager." We accidentally parked in the wrong spot and he came out to yell at us, so we said we were sorry and moved. We told him we are regulars and he said "Sure you are." So, we walked in to say hi to the bartender we had just seen on Saturday night. Instead of apologizing, he got into an aggressive argument with my friend about parking and when she politely said "Let's not argue, you could have easily just been nicer about it," he said, "That's as nice as I'm gonna get....pal." One of my favorite bars of all-time was in walking distance. Woody is one of the greatest bartenders ever, had so many fun nights there. Dart board always has people playing and jukebox is always on. open till 4 every night which makes it very convenient. Owners are solid people as well. I just love this place, the bartenders are so friendly, the drinks are always great and they always have pretzels popcorn and candy(it's like a grown up kids party)! Not a bad bar. Pretty tiny area so if you go when it's crowded you're gonna have a hard time moving around. Not many spots to sits but better to hang near the bar If you can. It's pretty convenient that it's right next to the Larchmont Train station so if you're from the city or other area from westchester this is a good spot to come too. This is a great dive bar! I stopped in on Sunday night and had a great time. There is a good selection of music on the jukebox. Very small place, but ideal to hang with an average crowd, something very difficult in Larchmont. One night I ventured in and there was a cover band playing that was fantastic. The mood is great in this place, especially because it is a hole in the wall. It's really comical that only feet away is the Globe Bar and Restaurant that is so pretentious to have a dress code for an empty bar while the Cellar is packed to the gills. read more
