Karaoke was in full swing and the hosts are very talented. We made reservations but it was not packed this particular Thursday evening. It was very hot so we stayed indoors but I would have liked very much to sit outside. They have a nice location. Everyone was veyr nice, from hostess to bussers; our server was very attentive. We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. My MIL had their pollo a la brasa, and enjoyed it as well. We surprised hubby with a happy birthday red velvet slice and headed out. Service was great and it was a vibe with the live music. After our meal, we walked around Hudson Park nearby and enjoyed a very chill day. I would definitely come back.

The ambiance and aesthetics definitely lived up to the hype, and our waitress was kind, attentive, and did her best throughout the night. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill because of the wait. We arrived and were seated around 7:45 PM, but we didn't receive our food until about 9:15 PM. We ordered a Caesar salad, oxtail spring rolls, lomo, and jerk chicken. After waiting for what felt like forever, our waitress explained that our order had been given to the wrong table. While I appreciated her honesty, it was frustrating that it took so long for the mistake to be noticed and corrected. As for the food, I'd give it a 3.5/10. It had potential, but overall it just missed the mark for me. After such a long wait, I expected much better. We were only offered 15% off the bill, which didn't really feel like adequate compensation for a 90-minute wait caused by the restaurant's mistake. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it wasn't a good one. I'd seen this restaurant all over social media and had high expectations, but my experience didn't live up to the hype.

However, things all of a sudden halted for me the 2nd the bartender told my date they had to order something despite me ordering a $15 cocktail. My immediate thought was to say, "Okay, we'll be on our way then." I didn't like that my date was pressured into ordering something. THEN she hits us with "cash only." Ugh. The cocktails. She was majorly pushing these concoctions she'd made up and said every single cocktail was $15, so we might as well go with the boozier one (as opposed to what we wanted which was something simple like gin & tonic), so we relented. They were OK. Would never order again, though. Other than the desperation and pushiness of the bartender, the ambiance was great! Fun clientele and gothy decor. If she had just eased up, I would honestly have this place be my go-to bar in town as opposed to never wanting to go again. Shame.

The only negative that I really have to say about this spot is that there is really not a lot of parking, there is a very small lot that can fit about three cars right to the side of the bar,, we were able to pull up right in front because we came on a Wednesday night but if you come here on a weekend you may need to park a block away. Overall I've always had a great time here, the bartenders have always been super nice and they carry angry orchard which is my favorite beer. I will definitely be back again soon.

Give Luis a raise cus he was running the whole floor and I counted atleast 4 other workers, one of them a tall blonde man who kept going in and out of the bathroom or back room the whole time. So while Luis is taking everyone's orders, checking in on the tables, and putting the orders into the system at the bar, I'm not sure what that other man was doing...I observed him just taking up space. So yeah big up to Luis on his work ethic! It was such a good time there as he came out with our cake to sing happy birthday to our guest! Drinks were good tho too. I do wish the tables and surfaces of this establishment were cleaner, however. We had sticky matter and spots on the table. Aside from that they have some nights where they do karaoke after 10pm so you'll definitely see any influx of students during that time here, btw.
