    Hot and sour soup

With a nasty cold on our trip, a hot bowl of pho was naturally calling to my stuffy nose. I tried 3 other Vietnamese spots around- unfortunately this was the most inept. Took over 45 min for pho to arrive, on a slow Monday night with a crowd half as busy as the others I tried. The pho was some of the plainest; no spice depth, less than fair amount of meat. It was a far cry from the comfort soup I needed to feel better. The potstickers outer layer was unusually thick in deep fried deliciousness. Super late water refill, and when asked for extra napkins they were forgotten. Instead of any tranquil background music you got to listen to workers screaming at each other in the kitchen. Even though this is tucked away from an immediate tourist area some changes must be made to achieve "hidden gem" status.

Being so far away from home and California having such diverse foods I was hesitant to try Vietnamese food in France. When I saw Dong Phat on yelp I made my decision to try this place based on price and being that it was a small family owened business. We had a party of 4. The patio seating was closing off for the night so we sat inside. We had a young male who came and spoke English very well. He offered us drinks and took our order.. We ordered shrimp and pork egg rolls, shrimp dumplings, stead combo rice, 2 shrimp dumpling Pho and a steak add shrimp pho. Our party had no complaints what so ever ! Everything was amazing. "Mom" came out and made sure every thing was OK. And she was the nicest ever. Everything came out separate but everything was extremely fresh. If you are in France and are looking for a different type of the tradition food. This place is highly recommended. And for the price it was top notch.

Nice little place tucked away from the tourist spot but not too far. I'd say local to tourist ratio on the day I am visiting was about 50/50. Very small but efficient. We had pho and shrimp dumpling noodles. The appetizer- spring roll was really good. Similar to the ones back in US. Pretty authentic I'd say. Pho was decent as well. No surprises. The shrimp dumpling was good and I am not so hot about the noodles. Soup was light and yummy. I'd gave the overall rating 3.5.

The location is easy to find off google maps. Parking on the street. Small space. First, the food is not Vietnamese. Should've gotten the clue when the ladies spoke Chinese. There is no umami flavor to the food. Order the lunch set with the vermicelli bowl and fried rice/rice rolls. The spring rolls were filled with bean sprouts which made it taste terrible. The vermicelli bowl's beef was not grilled but some sort of stir fry reheated in the microwave. The only redeeming factor was the egg roll which were decent. The fish sauce didn't have enough garlic or sugar. The xíu mài and ha kau were clearly microwaved from a bag. Overall everything was lackluster and I don't know why everyone have it such an aging review. Perhaps nothing to compare it to.

Just arrived into Paris and my son was feeling under the weather so he asked to go eat pho. I looked up what was near our hotel and Dong Phat came up and saw decent reviews. I am Viet so am very critical in a good way. Well I don't think this restaurant was very authentic or good. It was average. The pho didn't taste or smell like pho. The nuoc mam didn't taste like fish sauce. And the service was very very slow. 30 mins to get my son his pho. The Vietnamese turmeric pancake, Banh Xeo, was too thick and greasy and the pork that was used was under cooked. I hope they find a way to improve in their service and their taste because it was not a good representation on how good Viet food can be.

When my family visited Paris, we stopped by this restaurant twice (on the same day). It was 15 minutes walk from the Eiffel tower. I would say this was comfort food to the soul for me. I am Vietnamese and I was impressed with some of the dishes we ordered the first time, which led us to come back for the next meal on the same day. My daughter had grilled pork with rice and it was amazing! They marinated the meat well, added lemongrass before the grilled which made it very tasty. My partner got rice in a hot stone with beef and egg. It was so good that I kept eating his. Mine was good too but the sauce on that dish was just incredible. There was a bit of a wait when we got in but not too long. Staff was nice and friendly. A plus point was the staff spoke English very well! Update to some of the reviews: THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS

Was really craving bun and this was the closest Viet restaurant with good reviews. It was more mixed dishes, I think. We got the vermicelli and mapo tofu. The place itself wasn't too busy so was surprised that the food took awhile to come. The bun flavour was just okay, the portion was kind of small for the price. The spring rolls were nice and crispy but the filling wasn't as generous as I was expecting. The mapo tofu was a bit too salty for my taste and I'm surprised it didn't come with rice (I guess it would be extra).

I came here on a Monday night for dinner. The place is near the Eiffel Tower so it's a good place to have dinner after you've gone up the tower or waiting for the light show at night. They have a great meal set where you get an appetizer, entree, and lychee dessert for 12 euros. It's such a good deal. My friend and I ordered Menu #1 (fried dumplings, beef/chicken/egg rice bowl, lychees) and Menu #3 (shrimp summer roll, beef/fried spring rolls vermicelli bowl, lychees). It's so much food. I really liked the shrimp summer roll and the vermicelli bowl. Service was very friendly and fast. I would definitely come back! The pho looked good but it was really hot the day I went so definitely have to come back if I'm here in the winter.

After spending a drizzly morning touring the palace at Versailles, we were in the mood for soup. This small Vietnamese restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but not far from Invalides where the dropped bus dropped us off after the tour. The food is authentic and not greasy. Their house made hot sauce is divine, and very hot. Like Thai Hot. The steam dumplings were pillowy and flavorful with soft (not chewy) shrimp. One order of the fried rice was not enough for my son, so he went back for seconds. And in their defense, it is a 7€ side dish. The prior reviews of beef with egg were spot on. It came with tender pieces of beef and a savory sauce. They provide a bottle of RedRooster Sauce if you want to add some heat. The chicken pho came with lime wedge on the side but it wasn't necessary. The broth had a bright and fruity flavor and plenty of pieces of chicken.

Stopped by at this restaurant after a long days sightsee in Paris. This place is located on a somewhat more quiet road and had plenty to offer. CONS: * There doesn't seem to be a bathroom available, so make sure to go ahead of time! PROS: * Food was very delicious and was ready pretty quickly! * The tea options were plentiful! If you would like a sweet drink, I would highly recommend the strawberry tea. * When I ordered beer stir fry, they were not stingy on the meat which was a huge plus! Overall, if you would like an alternative to yummy French cuisine, I would definitely give a seal of approval!

Unbelievably good Vietnamese food which we stumbled upon on while looking for the best view of the Eiffel Tower, I've eaten at Vietnamese restaurants in the west coast ( San Jose), a lot in New York and New Jersey, but the best I've tasted was this unassuming but very tasty Vietnamese restaurant with the staff so attentive and provides great customer service--both fluent in French and English. The food--pho was spot on delicious with the broth so sumptuous, noodles not sticky but just perfectly made, the Bo luc lac was on point, very very good on each bite, and they even give you a complimentary lychee dessert. This is a must visit Vietnamese restaurant in Paris

Food is good enough, a little bland to me. Services were fast, clean. Prices are okay.

Thailandais beef salad is refreshing and full of flavors and spice. Great pairing with Thai sticky rice.
