My boyfriend had the Soupe Tonkinoise au Bouef et Boulettes (11€) which in Vietnamese is a Pho Tai Bo Vien and I had the Riz Luc Lac au Boeuf (12€) which in Vietnamese should be the Com Bo Luc Lac. The meal was affordable and it tasted okay but my issue is the lack of authenticity. Com Bo Luc Lac usually has onions and tomatoes with the beef. This was only beef and there was no sauce glaze on it. Also restaurant usually served it with a side of salad. Vietnam is an agricultural country and most of our dishes usually have a plethora of veggies. My boyfriend isn't even a picky guy but he said his Pho was below average. I'm not sure why this place has great ratings... maybe there was a recent change in ownership and it's no longer what it used to be.

Also, I don't know if this is a French or actual Vietnamese thing, but it didn't come with any bean sprouts, cilantro, or jalapeño. It was also half the size than what I'm used to at home so I left still feeling hungry. The tomato rice wasn't actually tomato rice. It was just white rice sprinkled with some tomato seasoning.
