Reupholstery
Teresa T.

Donates Upholstery did an amazing job on my two couches and Barstools. Love it. David very nice and helpful to work with. Thank you again.

After the cushion was repaired.

Good quality workmanship, reasonable prices, honest approach to solve my furniture issue.

I had two chairs that desperately needed some tlc and thankfully I came across Donate's! I called in asking for a quote and was told I could text in photos of my chairs and receive a text by phone - easy peasy, I prefer receiving a quote by text versus going in, that's my personal preference! Anywho, I was given my quote and took my chairs in the next day. You have the choice to bring in your own material for the chairs or choose one from Donate's - i chose a material from Donate's. I declined new padding since the padding on my chairs worked just fine for us. The gentleman was nice enough to help me unload the chairs from my car. The turnaround time was maybe 5 days, including the weekend - but that wasn't a dealbreaker for me. He texted me when my chairs were ready for pickup and he helped me load them into my car. 10/10 would recommend their services. I've added pictures for reference. Chairs are nothing fancy but I'm not so embarrassed by them anymore

1920's Sofa bed - Donates has recoved at least 7 times. They did the Eastlake chair too AND the 1960's real leather ottoman!!

Always the very BEST in service and ATTENTION TO DETAIL! Have been doing business with David Donate for over 2 decades - due to an assortment of house cats think David knows my favorite 1920's couch better than myself - he has recovered at LEAST 6 times. LOL. From creating cushions for all makes and models of chairs, indoor to outdoor - and always exceptional pillows - the round tufted, velvet ones a favorite. They even 'fixed' 'sad' sofa cushions, from BRAND NEW, Designer Sofa Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams David & Co couch made them decently passable before I even considered using the piece!! You simply can not go wrong with using Donate's Upholstery. Don't expect a 'rush job' - but he keeps an amazing amount of high end fabrics in stock and if you are like me and he already knows the measurements of a few favorite items and what to order. They go above and beyond to get the fabric ordered and then offers pick up and delivery ( TIP well my friends this is a RARE service). David could charge twice what he does and customers like myself would still rely upon his services without thinking twice! Bottom Line; if you have a beautiful antique or a new designer piece with 'bad cushions' Donates staff will help you out!!! Think twice about getting rid of that hideously upholstered solid mahogany couch that some relative left you or you fell in love with at a flea market or for FREE on CL or FB marketplace. Quality upholstery will serve you far better and YOU can pick the fabric. PS. consider using SunBrella which David can order for an indoor sofa if you have pets/kids - sooo easy to just wipe off - and no David won't think you are weird at all - just tell him AC from DetailsForLiving sent you!! Smiles.

Replaced brickbrack and refilled pillow

I feel so fortunate to have found David at Donate's. His prices were the most read and his craftsmanship is exemplary. He reupholstered and redid the springs in the west of a vintage chair. I loved his work so much I brought in another chair where he replaced the brick brack trim and repaired refilled a broken down seat cushion pillow that had no zipper. I'm bringing in a third chair. He is kind, conscientious snd s superior craftsman

My reupholstered chair. So happy with how this came out! Love the quality of work!

Wow, what amazing work and fair prices. I called two other places and they could barely return my calls. This is such an important trade and business that it is blessing to have Tony who still takes pride in his work and charges a reasonable price. No, his shop is not close to where I live but I am so grateful that I found him. I will recommend him to everyone!

The before chair.

How many years have we driven past this treasure trove, only to say, 'One of these days...'? Well…read moreTODAY was finally that day and I wish I hadn't put it off. I've visited many antique stores with varying booths, but Antique Adventures is definitely one of the tidiest and cohesive to explore. Booths are clearly marked and associates walk the aisles should guest have any questions or need assistance. I did! I asked to please see a vintage MCM bar/stereo system that was hidden in a console. 'Of course!' was the quick answer. The piece made my heart happy, being a fan of MCM, but the owner/seller had it attached to a electric "fireplace," trimmed in "brick" that seemed more 80s. I asked if it was just resting atop for display purposes but, no, I was all one large piece. Bummer. I'm guessing the top console lost contact with its legs and this was an improvised fix. I have been interested in finding a record player and a bar cart to match our Mid Century furnishings, so this may have fulfilled both wants, but it was a pass. Very cool, though. Hubs found a treasure he had been seeking for a couple of years, a DVD of a "no longer broadcast-able" episode of "30 Rock". For a couple of bucks, he was a happy hunter. LOADS of cool jewelry and also some true estate sale finds. I'm always surprised when something I see jolts a memory from the recesses of my foggy brain. A couple of weeks ago it was a Raggedy Ann and Andy lunchbox priced at $30 - WITHOUT the thermos! Mind you, this was the era where we couldn't drop our thermos for fear of the interior glass shattering, resulting shards of glass slicing our throats with the first gulp. Hmmm....wonder if that was one of those "stories" meant to scare us into caring for our possessions??? Anywho, seeing that lunchbox awoke something and I shuddered to think why the thermos was missing. Today, of all things was an unusual wall hanging sculpture of a branch of flowers, painted gold and white that hung over the head of my yellow daisy canopy bed. Someone else had THAT hanging in their home?!? Weird to think and made me chuckle. Aside from the friendly folks and easy to navigate aisles, there are a handful of parking spaces in front, but PLENTY of parking in the back lot and along the street. We'll definitely keep Antique Adventures on our "to visit" list for each time we're in the Ventura area. Maybe I'll be a lucky treasure hunter like Hubs. Cheers! "CC"
