I really enjoyed trying this new Mexican-American restaurant in Carmel. Its a large building, so there was no wait, and service was great even as they got busier. They kept us stocked up on chips and salsa and drink refills, and were very helpful when ordering. Our food all came out quickly, which stopped us from filling up on chips. It was clean and not too loud, so my group was able to chat and have great conversation. I would go back!

Horrible service. Food was not good. I've ordered their corn on the past. It is usually corn on the cobb Mexican street corn. They gave me canned corn in a cup. Wasn't sweet. Tasted disgusting. Ordered what was supposed to be a boiled shrimp salad. It was more like frozen shrimp from a package that was thawed out not seasoned dumped on lettuce. Asked if I could change my order. They told me I would have to pay for 2 plates. Worse service recovery ever. I will not be wasting my money at this establishment. I do not recommend.

HUGE portions for a great price. This is a nicer chain Mexican restaurant with a big bar inside and a tucked away outdoor patio space. The menu has dozens and dozens of options and combinations. The fajitas and burrito portions are gigantic - a meal for two. The service was super quick and our waiter was friendly. I'll be back!

Chimichangas. Yuck. Soggy, lacking in everything, not deep fried, something perhaps out of a Mexican Chef Boyardi can. Que vergüenza!!!!

Valentines night date. Hot wife. Great life. We both were hankering for some Mexican food, or at least something that resembled TexMex. We've eaten at Don Rigo before with a decent level of "it's ok, not too bad and it's fairly close," as our reaction. It was ok enough to give a second try. Well, BIG MISTAKE! It started with a waiter that was slow. It took soooooo long to get his attention and when he did take our order, it took him 5 times to get it right. Then when he brought the drinks he brought one drink, only my wife's. Ten minutes later he brought me out a Sprite, which I did not order, because I'm allergic to drinks I do not like. Of course it then took him another 10 minutes to finally bring me my Diet Coke. And those were the only drinks we got. He was too lazy to bring refills even when asked. He was slow on the chips and salsa. Way slowish on the appetizers. And when the food came, the wife's order was correct but it was slopped together and mine of course was wrong. I ordered the "deep fried" chimichanga with an extra chimichanga on the side. What I got instead was two mini hotpocket chimis that were soggy soft, never fried, that had as much meat filling in them as a single Chef Boyardi Ravioli. On the gas light positive side of things, at least it was overly slathered in queso soup, ladled with runny refried bean "gravy" then garnished with wet watery lettuce with a paltry portion of pico, as an attempt to priss up the farm slop. And where was the rice you told me it came with? I guess Tío Ben (Uncle Ben) wasn't feeling "muy generoso". To be honest, disappointment isn't how I would even described my reaction. It was more "cabriado". "Pissed off" to the fact that once again a restaurant was putting "stuff" on a warm plate and expecting to be paid well for it. This wasn't food from the Mexican Yucatán. This food was a Ton-of-yuck not even close to real Mexican! .....but the decor was lovely, for a Indiana-Mex sports bar. So for a Diet Coke and a game, you won't be disappointed.

I had been looking forward to trying Don Rigo, and today I came here with a group of 7 friends for a late lunch, around 3:00 pm. It was my first time here, but several of my friends had dined here previously and they had recommended it highly. We were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately at a large table. Service was very good, our server had a great sense of humor and made our meal enjoyable. We were promptly served chips and salsa, and our drink order was taken. We all ordered different entrees, and everyone was very pleased with both the presentation and the taste. I had ordered a me with cheese enchilada and a bean burrito, served with rice and beans. My meal was flavorful and delicious. The beans had a nice texture and good flavor. The rice was just a little bland for my taste but I added some salsa and it was perfect. Our water glasses were refilled promptly and extra soft drinks were brought out at timely intervals. The dinning room was spacious, with seating well-arranged. Decor is attractive. We all agreed that we would definitely return soon.

We love Don Rigo! It's fast, casual, consistent & hits the spot. I recommend the fajitas Don Rigo, they can feed 2-3 or leftovers for lunch!! The fresh guacamole & house margarita are a must. I'm not sure how high I would rank it on the authenticity scale, but for a chain Mexican cuisine, Don Rigo is great!!

I tried this new beautiful Mexican restaurant. I ordered the lunch steak fajita for $10.99. They accommodated my takeout order -- such as rice instead of beans. I like that I did not have to pick out peas in their rice. I cannot wait until May to possibly eat with my friend outside when their back patio opens. Each of the five sections of various seating has at least one TV.

Pretty good Mexican restaurant in Carmel, IN with plenty of parking and seating. When you walk inside, it feels clean and welcoming.. but it isn't your traditional Mexican restaurant with a variety of colors and artwork. Styling is more traditional. In fact, there is a dear head in one of the dining rooms. Service was nice as was the food. If you're a fan of spicy food, definitely order the spicy sauce.

The service is consistently great, and the food never disappoints. I started with the fried green tomatoes, which are some of the best you'll find in the Indianapolis area--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The biscuits and gravy are a must-order. The biscuits taste freshly made, and you can really tell the restaurant prioritizes high-quality, farm-to-table ingredients. It's easily my go-to recommendation every time I visit. The ambiance is another highlight--intimate, cute, and welcoming. Even when it's busy, it never feels too loud or overwhelming. It's perfect for a casual date, catching up with friends, or even enjoying a solo meal with your laptop. Grindstone is truly a versatile spot that always delivers.

The reason I gave it a 4 star review is because some of the food didn't meant our expectations. We sat at the bar and were very well taken care of by Christian, who provided excellent service from start to finish. I decided to order the empanadas, guac, and churros from the happy hour menu. Everything was $5/each. I went with the steak empanadas, cuz unfortunately you can't mix and match flavors. For me, the texture was a bit off. Christian noticed my hesitation right away and kindly offered to replace them. He brought out the chicken empanadas instead, and they were much better. Not phenomenal, but enjoyable. My classic margarita was refreshing... until the manager offered me a sample of the Carriage House margarita. Whew! Yaaaass! That was deliciously potent! Easily two drinks in one, so pace yourself. It has officially become my new go-to leaded bev when dining here. If paella is your thing, I'd absolutely recommend it. That's usually my standard order. But just a heads up... sometimes it can be a lil like my friend when my outfit is cuter than hers - salty! So, you may find yourself needing another margarita to help balance your palate. And don't forget to add to your Cunningham rewards!!!! 1000 points equals a $100 gift card.

The hostess was completely dismissive as take the table we give you or leave. It was my sister's birthday so we didn't have much choices if we left for a Saturday night. We sat down to order drinks and the bartender missed the mark in the Mule drink. It was all the taste of jalapeño to the point a different drink has to be ordered. So far not a good start to the night. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer and 2 were served in a plate with a side of salsa. They were very bland with no flavor in the filling. The puff pastry and the salsa were the substitute for the flavor. Entrees were Crab stuffed Salmon with Asparagus, tomato/horseradish soup with 2 cheese crostini's, 2 small crunch salads. The portions were on mark,Not too big not too small. Salmon was blackened and cooked to perfection. Salads had fresh veggies and the dressing complimented the dish. The soup is amazing however it was served more in the warm side. The server was sub par. Not too friendly, she was all business and didn't t see her much. This was the 4 time I was there and was so disappointed this time. The food was good but the service was horrible.

When Plan A Falls Through, Sometimes You Find Something Better…read moreOur original restaurant choice was closed for the month. Time for a pivot. My father-in-law works downtown Noblesville and suggested we try Bar Ellis. Little did we know, we were about to stumble into one of the best dining experiences we'd had in a long time. Walking through the door, I was immediately struck by the interior. Historic brick walls met comfortable, chic modern design. The space was warmly lit and welcoming, and fortunately, so was the team at Bar Ellis. The hostess seated us quickly, and Grant, our server, arrived moments later with drink menus and a genuine smile. Then came the real challenge: helping my non-seafood-eating wife find a gluten-free option she'd actually enjoy. After a thoughtful conversation with Grant, she made her choice. I followed, excitedly ordering the salmon BLT. "Is this one any good?" I asked. Grant's face said it all. I was in for a treat. He wasn't exaggerating. My sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. The salmon was perfectly prepared. The bacon was crisp and full of flavor. The bread was toasted just right, crispy but not too thick. Every element worked in harmony: the crunch of the bread, the tenderness of the salmon, the crisp bacon, all elevated by a dill mayo that tied everything together. I know it's "just" an elevated BLT. But it's the best one I've ever had. I was genuinely sad when it was over. It was one of those rare meals that left me wishing I could be hungry all over again. As we finished, I sought out the manager, Chamron. She greeted me warmly and asked how everything was. After sharing my compliments about the food and service, I asked about the story behind Bar Ellis. She smiled and told me about two sisters and a brother-in-law, a chef with a passion for exceptional food and desserts, who dreamed of creating a restaurant that was both classy and hip. Then she shared something unexpected: Bar Ellis transforms on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 PM to midnight. Friday features karaoke, Saturday brings live music, and the whole place shifts to a 21-and-over scene. Even the lighting changes, creating a darker, moodier atmosphere. The scratch kitchen stays open throughout, so you won't miss out on that incredible food. I'm usually too old to be out that late, but I just might need to make an exception to experience this transformed space and enjoy that delicious salmon BLT again. If you're looking for a restaurant that's genuinely cool, serves exceptional food, and employs a team that actually cares about your experience, check out Bar Ellis in downtown Noblesville. You won't regret it.
