So we drove over two hours to come here for my wife's birthday. We stayed at Stonewall resort that's all the best thing about our trip so we got here. I explained to my wife's birthday. She is highly allergic to onions so please make sure there's no onions in the food we can't have salsa. They still proceeded to bring and still brought her food with onions in it. Her chicken was no flavor to it. She got a Cancun. I got a burrito Durango. None of them had flavor in it. They all had onions and everything in it. We asked very politely if they could be remade they told we asked to speak to a manager the waiter and ripped our food off the table and said take it off, so I went up there to explain that no one ate anything that I was not gonna pay for food that was not eaten the avocados they brought us was we was trying to we had jalapeños that was undercooked. We asked if they could cook them a little longer. They took them back and brought them back good amount of time for them cooking because they was completely black and burnt and then told us we hope we never come back and then proceeded to start cussing and threatening us so I do not recommend this atmosphere or service to anyone read more

When my husband and I entered the restaurant, the seating hostess promptly walked us to a booth, but she did not greet us. Soon our waitress arrived, and she also did not greet us. The waitress did take our order within a reasonable amount of time. The prices were reasonable. Here are my reviews for the foods: Nachos with cheese - 4 stars - The nachos were fresh, and the cheese was fairly gooey. I had asked for a side of quacamole, but later the waitress said that the kitchen had no guacamole. Mushroom quesadilla - 4 stars - This quesadilla contained mushrooms and cheese. The quesadilla was not large, but the ingredients were fresh and tasted good. Burrito California - 2 stars - This burrito was a gigantic size. Unfortunately, my husband did not enjoy the ingredients or flavors. The kitchen had no avocados. The French fries were soggy. The steak tasted "so-so." The physical condition of the restaurant needs to be improved. Our table was wobbly, and the top actually rotated. The bench had a large tear in it. My husband said that the men's bathroom had a sink that shot water onto his shorts, so he had to walk around with a large water spot! read more

I'm not going to lie when we saw that there was a Mexican spot to eat here we were SUPER against going since we're from Los Angeles home of fantastic Mexican food! Plus my husband is Mexican and he knows his root and what it should taste like! From the moment we walked in it was like walking into a restaurant in LA. We sat down got to looking at the menu and it all looked great. We got a molcajete the meat was juicy and tender! The shrimp and chicken were on point the chorizo had a fantastic taste. We got flautas! They were made so perfectly that crunch was on point. We also got a $12 freshly make guacamole and it was exactly what we taste when we're home. This place truly does not impress me in the least. Especially not the food, although that's far from their only shortcoming. Service is friendly yet somewhat inept. It's pretty much a "Point at the menu and hope for the best" ordering system. Frankly, I got the impression they don't care of your order is accurate or not. The food often comes to your table three minutes after you've ordered it. Only way that is possible is if they are nuking premade entries. And considering the taste, I'm sure that's exactly what's going on. The chips and salsa you get are really good but after that, it's not much better than microwave burritos done at home. The sign they have out in front of the place is still the steakhouse sign from the restaurant who owned the place prior. While it's a very Karen-ish thing to complain about, that just turns me off. And please, they need to stop over garnishing their drinks. The bar and it's wide variety of mixed drinks is a big plus but you get a literal bouquet inside of it. Not necessary. Hopped off the highway to stop for gas. Surrounded by many quick and easy fast food stops that were tempting. So glad we came here instead, service was quick and great. Staff was super friendly. MAKE SURE YOU DONT GO NEAR CLOSING TIME! I took my wife and three children here on a Sunday night. Yelp says the restaurant is open till 9:30pm. We walked in the door at 8:38. The young hostess looked shocked that I was bringing my family in to eat. She asked if I had a pick-up. She then told me they closed at 9:00pm. (If I am ever in this situation again I will just leave). However, I asked to eat in. She took me to a table. We tried to order quickly and only ordered on big fajitas dish for our family to get a quick bite and get back on the road. The food came out quick and I told the main English speaker that we thought the restaurant closed at 9:30. I even showed him the Yelp hours on my phone. Anyway, once the food was delivered things got pretty uncomfortable. Many workers seemed to come out of the kitchen laughing and looking our way. Others seemed to pass by our table staring at our family. The behavior seemed very strange and completely unwelcoming. The way the workers from the kitchen came out laughing to one another and motioning and checking on us made me think they had possibly done something to our food out of retaliation for us being there too late. It was all extra uncomfortable. My wife agreed. She was wondering why they were laughing and staring at us and coming out or by to see us. Both of our "gut instincts" were telling us that something was wrong and we were definitely unwelcome and the butt of some sort of ridicule or shenanigans. Finally, mid-meal, I told my kids not to eat anymore. I got up and told them we are leaving. When I got up to pay the check a lady asked me if we were going to take our food. I said no. Then my wife asked me to ask them if they did anything or what was going on. Instead, I told them, "I have not felt welcomed the whole time I have been here. And people seemed to be coming out to see us with our food and laughing. I am afraid you did something to our food and I am not going to allow my family to eat it. I may be wrong, but we have not felt welcomed the whole time." The hostess said, "no, they didn't do anything to the food." But none of the other 4-5 guys standing around listening said a thing. No food prep person, no server, none of them denied it. They just stared at us. I paid the bill, left an almost 20% tip (so that I would know I did the right thing) and took my family. We were all shook up. I'm still disturbed and uncertain today of what exactly was going on. I have ate at literally thousands of restaurants and have never, ever walked out in the middle of a meal. I don't know what we ate last night, but thankfully no one got sick. Maybe there as nothing in the food, but the main point is the fact that we were definitely not wanted there, so we finally got the picture and left. read more

So this is a very small area and not much to "choose" from when it comes to grabbing dinner late. My hubby worked later than expected and THIS was it or Taco Bell. So, the lady at the gas station stated this was a very good place. We tried it - 1st and last. Anyhoo - We were 3rd to be seated. After sitting down, we had to ask for the seat and table to be cleaned. Why take customers to a table and don't check for the cleanliness BEFORE seating them. YEAH! If haven't figured it out by now - YEAH - I'm a bit OCD, but come oooonn - clean the table BEFORE seating your customers. Fast forward - We ordered, got our food, I had a salad & cheese dip. My hubby had quesadilla and Big burrito. After drinking 2 glasses of tea and he was on his 3rd cup of water... I ask him - WHAT IS THAT IN YOUR CUP!?? He was looking at me like I was bonkers - he looks and THERE WAS A FLY - Poor thing lost his life in cold water, or was he already in the cup!??? YIKES. I about threw up for my hubby because how many other flies was he gulping down before I noticed THAT FLY. HA! Funny, but not funny. So, ok. We didn't see our waiter and stopped another waiter and told him - "There's a fly in our drink." He looked, took the cup and walked away and didn't say anything. We sat there - no joke for about 15 mins before our waiter came. He said - "Can I help with something?" As if the other waiter didn't tell him already - I know he HAD to have told him. I said... "What do you mean "CAN YOU HELP IWTH SOMETHING? There was a freaking fly in our cup, are you kidding." He pointed to a guy walking by and said - "Oh, he's the manager, talk to him." I'm totally speechless!! Totally! The manager didn't come to the table, our original waiter walked away after pointing us to the manager. I stopped eating left our food there and went to the counter. . So, can you believe when we got to the counter the manager was attempting to work on the printer or something, he barely checked up at us. My hubby said - "Sir, are you the manager?" He answer - "Yes, what's wrong sir?" I'm boiling at this point with the "playing dumb games". My hubby said - "Man, there was a fly in our drink, one waiter passed us up, our original waiter, pointed to you as you were walking by, now you are acting as if you have no clue what's going on - what is this?!!" Here goes - the manager NEVER stopped fiddling with the printer and said - "What you have? " I laughed to keep from blowing a fuse. Then he immediately said - "No worry about it, I'll take care of it, have a good night." I smiled and said as softly as I could - "Sir, you and your waiters are EXTREMELY unprofessional and plain rude. He has ZERO sense of customer etiquette and you certainly don't give 2 sh*ts about customers who are coming through because there's only 4 places to choose from locally to eat. You should be ashamed of yourself, but you aren't because people will STILL spend their money with you and you know it, that's why you never looked at us this entire time. You don't care and neither do I, but I will be writing a review and absolutely will not be back when we are back in town in 3 wks. Simply disgusting." Nope, he still fiddled with that printer. This restaurant needs a little updating/repair. The benches in our booth were a bit cracked. Not torn, but definitely in need of replacement. The tabletop has a carved design and so bits and pieces have worn away near the colorful designs. The menu is huge; it was hard to pick my dinner choice. I decided on the chicken (choice of chicken or beef) chimichanga. Unfortunately our waiter did not return to our table until he brought the bill( shortage of wait staff). I was unable to tell him that my chimichangas were beef, not chicken. It was okay, but I would have preferred chicken. The dinner platter includes rice OR refried beans. I picked beans, also okay. The salad is shredded lettuce, some guac, a little shredded cheese. I ate one chimichanga and the salad, taking the other chimichanga to go. It was more than enough. When we paid the bill at the register near the door, I told the lady about the mistake. She said that should we return, she would discount our dinner, but she could not now because the bill was already printed!!! My family has frequented Don Patron for several years, and have seen it slowly decline as of recently. Our most recent visit was on 3/6/2023, and not only was my dish overpriced (almost 10$ for a single chicken burrito) but I also left with a nasty case of food poisoning that I'm still recovering from. They also have a 3.5% fee if you decide to pay with a debit/credit card. It is to "encourage guests to pay with cash", however there is no atm in the vicinity of the plaza for folks who don't know about the policy or who don't carry cash. read more

What an amazing find in Weston, WV. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and it was quiet - but quickly filled up. First off, we were greeted warmly and our drink order was taken and very promptly filled. The menu is large, colorful, and interesting. I had the carnitas and chorizo enchiladas and wow - they was succulent, generous, and really tasty. It was served with a big dollop of guacamole, salad, and rice. My partner had the Mocolete meal - more than enough for two people, with steak, chicken, chorizo, and shrimp - all beautifully cooked. The stone bowl kept everything warm throughout the meal. Honestly, being from a large city, we weren't expecting all that much but it was one of the best Mexican meals we've ever had. My wonderful drink was decorated with an orchid! The servers were attentive and friendly. The speed of the kitchen was remarkable and it was clear it was not pre-cooked. We didn't feel rushed at all and thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I'm giving this restaurant an extra star because not much in this area has been good. Definitely the best meal we've had in the last 5 days, while visiting WV. The prices were decent and they give you a good portion of "chips and Salsa" and some other dip. My entree would have been excellent if it came with, some lettuce and if it would have been, less salty. However, over seasoning has been the theme since arriving in WV, so I'll chalk it up to my pallet/regional differences. read more
