While traveling, we prefer dining at local restaurants rather than fast food chains. This spot certainly had a distinctive vibe, though I'm left with mixed feelings about the experience. Walking in, I felt like I had stepped into the Fellowship Hall at church, where congregational dinners are held--it had a cozy yet very informal feel. The barrel seats were fun, adding a quirky touch to the unusual space. The staff appeared close-knit, often engaged in lively conversation in the kitchen rather than focusing on the diners. There was also a child running around the kitchen and hallways from a family of friends who had stopped by to visit the wait staff. For my meal, I ordered the beef stew special with a side of green beans. While the beef was tender and falling apart, it lacked any real flavor. The green beans were clearly canned and tasted bland, making the meal even less satisfying. However, the cornbread was a standout--massive, buttery, fluffy, and cooked perfectly. We also tried the cheesesteak, which ended up being mostly bread with very little meat, cheese, or vegetables--a letdown. The fries, on the other hand, were excellent, cooked just right with a crispy outside and soft interior. The prices weren't outrageous, but they felt steep for the overall quality of the food. To top things off, when the servers finished waiting on tables, they all stepped outside to chat and smoke, leaving the dining area unattended. I had to stick my head out the front door just to flag someone down to pay my bill, which was an inconvenience. While the setting was unique, the food and service left much to be desired. Food was mediocre at best which was disappointing when there is so much potential for this local place

Always enjoy getting breakfast at this small town diner. I can't stay away from their steak and cheese omelette. It's so good! Friendly staff and great service. Definitely give them a try.

This is a good, locally owned spot in an unexpected location. One of the few locally owned places nearby. We went for lunch. It was very quiet when we entered, and dark-ish. They absolutely need music playing or some type of background noise. When we walked in you could hear a pin drop. The room is very large, with fun barrel chairs. This place gives "1990's country cover band is playing here from 5-7pm" vibes. The younger waitstaff person who initially waited on us was friendly and welcoming. Every other person we came in contact with who worked here acted quite inconvenienced by us, and were rude. The food was mediocre at best. The bacon on the the BLT we ordered was so undercooked that it was still white/light. The steak hoagie was very greasy and limp. The fries were barely lukewarm. Despite being one of the only options nearby, I would not come back here.

Very average to mediocre for diner breakfast. Service prompt and friendly. Seems quite a bit over priced for the food, which wasn't really great in quality or quantity. I would have been better off just going to fast food or chain restaurant.

If you want a local flare, this place has it in spades. From the barrel chairs to the community table, it screams hometown. The service was fast. The roast was delicious and fork tender. The waitress says they cook it for six hours. Prices were very reasonable. Bring cash or check. There's a 4% surcharge for credit cards.

There aren't many places to eat in Flatwoods that aren't fast food. Luzader's is one of them. And every time I pass through the area I stop in. It is a surprise when you step inside to find a homey, cute and spacious place that would work for parties and events as well as for meals with family and friends. One side is set up with unique spool like tables and barrel chairs (sorry I don't have a pic) and the other is set up for events and has a stage and dance floor. Personally, I love the steak dinner and feel more satisfied eating here than a visit to Outback. Service is always pleasant and fast but I never feel rushed to leave. Prices are good too! I've never had a bad meal there.

On a road trip and like to experience local food vs fast food I can get anywhere!! I was a littler nervous upon entering the parking lot, but the reviews were good so we decided to try it!! I loved the atmosphere and decorations!!! It felt like a Fellowship Hall from church! The only thing missing (and reason for 4 not 5 stars) they need music or some sort of back ground noise. You could hear everyone's conversation and at some times, their chewing! We felt like we had to whisper! Food was delicious though!!

Only been there once as guests of friends. I was not impressed. Service was slow and the food was only adequate.

Just go. After we spent 5 hours driving from Phila. Needed a quick/good meal. Plus the barrel chairs gave us first timers a WV feel

I was very relieved to see this place within a pretty short walking distance from our accommodations for the night. I was also relieved to see that it was still open shortly after 7 on a Thursday night bc Google scared me saying they closed at 7. It's possible that they do bc when we walked in there was no one else there. Could also be bc it is a very small town. They don't have alcohol which was a bummer. They do have enticing sports-bar-like appetizers and fried ravioli which caught my eye. We kept it simple and both ordered burgers, I was grateful for the veggie burger option. Service was great. I, as a vegetarian, don't usually order burgers so I needed some assistance. Our server basically held my hand through the whole thing and asked me step by step how I would like mine. GF and I both succumbed to the side of fries. The burgers were served on a really delightful brioche bun with fresh lettuce. The fries were incredible. Our server went above and beyond and asked if we wanted any dipping sauces, finally a server that speaks my language. Very good experience here in this very unique restaurant.

There is axe throwing i immediately noticed upon entering. I think I was expecting something different bc it is a "Bistro". It has more of a Bar and Grill vibe. I ordered the steak bc of reviews i had read, and I was ready to love it....but it did not deliver. Both of our steaks were over cooked. Our bread, which looked delicious, was cold in the middle, perhaps frozen and reheated not long enough. Portions on then sides were small. Cheese sauce on the fries was saucy. I would have preferred actual cheese. We ultimately sent food back and ordered a burger and reuben and were pleased. Most outstanding thing was the wait service and management! They did make sure we were happy. They apologized for the leas than stellar experience. I would come back again. I felt like it was just a one off. We all have times like this. I think the menu is creative and Sutton is just such a cool vibe. I am rooting for this place!
