It's been a while since I was last there, but I recall it being a pleasant experience. The food was very good as well.

Continuing onto the letter C in the alphabet series representing 2011-2017 living in Virginia era is CJ Maggie's. A friend & I went to her former college town home of West Virginia Wesleyan. We arrived in town in the early afternoon on a Saturday in April 2016, and I was starving. My friend highly recommended CJ Maggie's, a local place in downtown Buckhannon, and in particular the 40 Miles of Bad Road nachos. We split those. I was starving, and she wasn't that hungry, so I ate like 85% of this huge mound of nachos. These were the single best nachos I've ever had in my entire life! This is the only category of food where the single best was in West Virginia as it's rare I'm ever in WV. Server was friendly too. Additionally, the place is rustic with cool decor inside. Next time I ever find myself in Buckhannon, I'd definitely try to revisit my favorite nacho place of all-time, CJ Maggie's! read more

Traveling through. Stopped for dinner. A cool local place. Amber was our waitress and she was super nice and helpful. The menu is huge, lots of selections. We shared the meat lovers pizza. It was really good. Perfect combo of meat, sauce and cheese. We wanted to save room for the homemade ice cream. It was so worth it. Chocolate chocolate chip and butter pecan. Outstanding. I came to a cj Maggie's with my dad years and years ago (in my early teens and I am now almost 40). He has since passed and I got to share it with my family. Food is still just as good as I remember. We all loved the meals we had. Huge portions and pizza was bomb. We will def be coming back when I come back home for my family reunion. read more

We loved CJ Maggie's for a verity of reason. First, most of the tables are very secluded private booths, almost as if it were built for the Covid era. The menu is extensive, and what were ordered was exceptional. There is a list of appetizers, eight types of salads, Wood over fired pizza, Meat & Tators (as described on the menu), Pasta dishes, Tex Mex, Sandwiches, Sides, and deserts. We loved the hand tossed Brick oven pizza we ordered with Pepperoni, Mushrooms, and Jalapenos. Great Crust, perfect amount of sauce, and good portion of toppings. We also split the Thai One On Pasta dish, which was peanut Butter based sauce, Ginger, Garlic, Soy, Chile's with Chicken Tossed with Capellini pasta. The food was good and our waitress was good. The manager, or person who appeared to be, was absolutely unprofessional. She was loudly berating staff during our visit. She was loud as well as inappropriate and threatening to fire staff and have them replaced by evening. It made the dining experience uncomfortable. Visiting from out of state, this restaurant was recommended by several locals. We were very pleased with the recommendation. The menu was extensive and varied. Everyone in our party of four ordered something different and we all greatly enjoyed our meals. The restaurant has an eclectic decor with all sorts of antiques and oddities on the walls. It was fun to see a lot of memorabilia from our hometown of Pittsburgh. The service was outstanding, even better than the food! I can recommend CJs without hesitation. read more

Setting was clean and nice. The bar area is typical for a hometown bar. The food was average and slightly better for everything made in the wood fired oven. Service could have been slightly better for the place appearing empty. Only one or two things were not correct with the order and things were quickly rectified. Went there for lunch recently. The food used to be very good, especially the burgers, but today they came out dry and overcooked. The service was not good either. Looked like the server just woke up. He shuffled over, got our order, served it and never came back to ask if everything was okay. I had to venture into the kitchen entry to ask for him to get our bill. Very disappointed. It may have been an off day, but my lunch companion wasn't impressed and stated they won't be back for mediocre food with higher prices ($33 for 2 burgers and 2 drinks). I did leave a $5 cash tip eventhough he didn't deserve it. On the plus side, the place was very clean. read more

Menu cover everything including appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees that are American, Italian, & Mexican. Wood fired oven puts out great pizza. Staff is welcoming and efficient. This is a great little place to stop. They make several different oven-fires pizzas or you can choose your toppings. (10.99 for 8 slices) I can assure you they will not disappoint. We stopped in on August 1. The kiddos were given little bags with macaroni and elastic to make necklaces while we waited. They both enjoyed the treat bag, The Inside is very unique and the walls had some really fun historical facts. Lots antique decorations to keep your eyes busy. We are renting a place in the area. The owners recommended we stop here and so glad we did. Well worth the stop. read more

Very disappointed in the service. We had the bruschetta appetizer, and while it was excellent, it would have been nice if server had brought small plates for us to use instead of trying to eat it over the platter. She unceremoniously plopped it in front of us and walked off before we could ask for plates. Didn't come back to check on us until our main course arrived. Club sandwich and fries were great. I would've liked to have had a side of ranch but server never returned to check on us while we're eating to see if we needed refills on drinks (which we did) or anything else for that matter. Never saw her again until she returned with our bill. Again no offer of refill or dessert. Just handed us our bill and left dirty plates sitting in front of us. Food is good but won't be back due to service. Management seriously needs to do some training with their with staff. read more

Finally stopped at Cj Maggies. It was amazing. The hostess set us right away. The waitress gave us enough time to look at the menu and order. My son had the burger and fries. I had my first wood fired pizza. My husband had Luca's special pasta. Everything was hot and delicious. Definitely will come back again. read more

The food is very well done, the appetizers are procured quickly, and are the size of a meal themselves! I would appreciate if they paid their workers minimum wage. The decorations are wonderful; however we were seated in a different part of the building away from the décor which was disappointing. The portion sizes are absolutely massive! I took my left overs home and fed the whole family! I've never had a bad meal here and this time was no exception. We had chicken wings (the full wing) with a homemade buffalo rub. I like the saucy wings and these were made from a rub but still very good. The grilled chicken salad was great topped with the delish ranch dressing. Like seriously delish. Best ranch ever! We've become bacon, cheese fries connesiuers and these were not only the largest portion but had the best ingredients. Fresh bacon and good cheese on fresh cut fries. Winner! read more

Huge menu selection and always large quantities. Quality is usually pretty good but sometimes misses the mark. Lots of great choices though. 40 miles of bad road nachos is a favorite of ours as is the Buffalo soldier pizza. Service can sometimes be slow but the food is usually worth the wait. read more
