The dining room is absolutely SCREAMING for decor and personality!

The "bistro" had me confused! The fact that the tiny town of Sutton even had a bistro had me confused!! It's definitely not a bistro by definition, decor or menu choices but the food is solid and the service is very good. We stopped in on our travels through the area and enjoyed a nice lunch in the nearly empty spot. Probably gets to hopping at night with the axe throwing and music. The restaurant itself is definitely screaming for some decor, something to look at on the walls perhaps, something to give some character and personality to the dining area. The burger special was really good, plenty of seasoning and flavor and the Reuben burger was also very good. The french fries are killer, they pretty much stole the show, especially when dipped in the home made thousand island!

Hidden gem, Beautiful salads w homemade dressings Fresh steaks and hand cut French fries We'll be back next time we are traveling through Great service too

Decent place to stop for a burger and fries at a reasonable price. Kids menu items (Mac n cheese, chicken, etc) not great though, wouldn't recommend those. Otherwise it's a roomy small town restaurant, seems like may be understaffed/could get busy around lunch time. They have some decent looking sandwiches on menu as well, but can't go wrong with a standard burger.

Down in Sutton is a hidden gem with a bit of everything. When you walk in, there is an ax on the window saying Bad Axe Bistro (pictured). Stepping inside, it splits to the left and right with a greeter at the door! To the left is a spacious space with plenty of seating; each table has its own comfortable chair! To the right, board games, a bar, pinball, Pacman (though it wasn't working), and even ax throwing! They have a jukebox as well, but it's cash only! That's right, a little bit of everything! The staff is very friendly; they make you feel right at home and are quick to take care of you; I don't think I had to ask for a refill once. They even made me a fresh batch of coffee at 8:30 pm. The food was tasty, I got the rotisserie chicken (pictured) I don't know what it was seasoned with but delicious! The whole meal at 12 dollars was a steal, even the apple blossom was amazing! If you get nothing else try the apple blossom. In fact, all the prices were decent and asking people what they like to eat here, they stated everything was great to eat. The restrooms were small but clean, they even have a mannequin dressed up in tie dye that threw me off when I walked out of the restroom, but it draws your attention to t-shirts and stickers if your wanting a tourist gift or just a cool sticker! This was a wonderful surprise and I would recommend stopping in here if you are ever traveling through Sutton!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other couples deserve to know about our experience…read more We had Fish Hawk Catering booked for our daughter's 220 guest wedding. About 3-4 months before the wedding, I asked if we could add a second appetizer to our final tasting, and I specifically offered to pay for it. I understood what was included in the tasting and was simply asking to purchase an additional appetizer so we could make our final decision. It was a simple bruschetta appetizer--nothing elaborate--and I even explained that I was sure I wasn't the first mother of the bride to ask for an additional tasting item. I truly didn't feel it was an unreasonable request. Unfortunately, the conversation with the assistant, Sheree, became uncomfortable very quickly. She insisted no exceptions would be made. I even explained that if I were dining in their restaurant, I could simply order and pay for an appetizer, so I was only asking to do the same for our tasting. I remained calm and respectful throughout the discussion and explained that my goal was to maintain a positive working relationship as we approached the wedding. As someone who has spent my career working with the public, I understand that not every request can be accommodated. What matters is how those situations are handled. When I asked to speak with the owner, Dale, I explained that I didn't want this to become an issue because we needed to work well together as we finalized plans for one of the biggest days of our daughter's life. Rather than discussing the situation or trying to find a resolution, he simply told me he was canceling our contract and would return our deposit. He did return the deposit, but he never reached out afterward to discuss the situation or attempt to make things right. Being dropped only a few months before a 220-person wedding over such a minor request was incredibly stressful. My daughter was devastated, and we were suddenly left without one of the most important vendors for her wedding. In my opinion, that was extremely unprofessional. Thankfully, our wedding planner, Brittany with Brittany Anne Events, immediately stepped in and found us an incredible replacement. Christine at The Stone House Catering was everything you hope for in a wedding vendor--professional, accommodating, kind, and genuinely invested in making our day special. The food was outstanding, and she personally visited every table during dinner to make sure our guests were enjoying their meal. Avery, owner of Dish'd, created a beautiful cocktail hour that our guests are still talking about, and she also catered a wonderful brunch for our wedding party. Both women went above and beyond, and because of them, our daughter's wedding day was absolutely perfect. One final disappointment came after the wedding. Several vendors made me aware that Sheree continued contacting them and speaking negatively about me. I was told she referred to me as "a piece of work" (or "a peach") and even suggested that I was somehow responsible for another vendor's decision to step away from the wedding industry. That accusation is completely untrue and honestly left me speechless. Throughout every interaction with Fish Hawk, I remained calm, respectful, and made every effort to de-escalate the situation. I know I can be direct, but I never raised my voice or treated anyone disrespectfully. For those conversations to continue after our business relationship had ended--and even after my daughter's wedding was over--was deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, another example of unprofessional conduct. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed it would be because we were surrounded by vendors who genuinely cared about us and treated our family with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Fish Hawk Catering to any bride or couple planning one of the most important days of their lives. Reliability, communication, and professionalism matter, and sadly, that was not our experience with Fish Hawk Catering.
