Don Maria's is hands-down the best breakfast in Clovis. Probably my favorite is the smothered burrito with red sauce. Yum!!!

I woke up, a little on the hungover side and was desiring something delicious. Something delectable. My first thought was to hit the Bistro but that line and my headache? No thank you. So I gathered my energy and made the journey to Don Marias. I drive by it everyday and never really thought much about popping in. So I said to myself, I said "Self, we need a breakfast 'rito, with only the finest meats and cheeses and this place looks like the type of joint to make that happen." So I drive my 2014 Toyota Tundra TRD 4x4 through the drive thru, like I owned the place. Theres one car in front of me, not a bad start. So, I place my peepers on the menu. The heavens opened and the Angels sang. An all meat breakfast 'rito?! Was I still dreaming? Is this real life? So, duh I ordered that bad boy. Took all of 5 minutes before they handed me that plump, aluminum wrapped bundle of joy. On the way home my MPG's went from 16 to 9 because that thing was so fat. If you don't lift don't even bother getting it because your weak ass wont be able to handle it. I had to take 4 scoops of preworkout just to get the energy to lift this thing from my truck to my kitchen. I mean, this thing was so fat, it puts Nicki Minaj's ass to shame. So, I dig in to this thing, expecting mediocrity, but boy was I wrong. First bite, sausage, eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon, cheese, and chorizo!?!?! I died and my spirit left my body. My chihuahuas turned into wild grey wolves and accepted me into their pack as their leader. Tupac and Biggi stopped by and dropped off their new album, only one ever made. The bloods and the crips made peace. Scarlet Johansson called me and begged me to get back with her. My bench press went up 200lbs. After that first bite I immediately sank to my knees and wept tears of pure joy. There isn't an establishment within 100 miles that could provide a better 'rito. Don Maria, keep doing you girl and keep cranking out those $5 bundles of all meat that might as well be pure gold. read more

Breakfast is hard to find in Clovis. We have tried a few of the other typical breakfast places in town and we were sorely disappointed. Don Maria's is a SOLID breakfast place. They have a bunch of options and the food is always good. The service is also very good. I have been here with large groups and they do VERY well keeping track and making things right. Overall, I think this will be our go-to for breakfast from now on. read more

Best breakfast burritos ever and I hate burritos in general. The green sauce is awesome with the Steak burritos. If you want to order more than 5 burritos to go, I would give yourself some extra time. Otherwise this place is pretty darn good. read more

Is it possible to give this place one more star for THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN CLOVIS! I was sincerely blown away at the warmth and charm of not just the place but the staff. Every staff member we came in contact with and others I was just observing with other tables appeared to be genuine and happy. They appeared have pride in the business and in themselves. So wonderful to find a gem like this here in Clovis. The food portions were perfect and the food itself....DELICIOUS! Came to this restaurant twice hoping to have a better experience. My first visit for breakfast I got there when they opened. Staff was nice but there was one waitress and she seemed to be managing all tables and drive thru. It definitely effected service which was non existent. I ordered the chorizo and eggs which lacked any good flavor. I went back hoping tha'st I chose just a bad item and tried to get breakfast through the drive thru. Again the staff was friendly but understaffed. I waited 20 minutes for my food, went home only to find they didn't include half of my food. Called and they agreed to fix it. Came back down and waited another 15 minutes and the staff seemed to not care that my order was wrong.I got my food came home and the potatoes were bland and the pancakes were unpleasant in taste. Eggs were cold and in all i spent over over an hour trying to get pay order. My advice is to call in orders, double check your food. I rather go to Mi Cocina the food tastes better and staff seems to care more about your experience. read more

My absolute favorite place for breakfast burritos! Beware, they're salsa is like playing Russian roulette, it's made fresh everyday and it might burn. The burritos are usually a good 2 pounds and I save half for lunch! Get there early for a place inside, call in your order, or drive through. You won't be disappointed!!! read more

Another great place to eat breakfast in Clovis! Staff is always friendly and the food is always fresh. This is one of two restaurants that I eat at when in town....always! Got the chorizo and egg enchiladas and the cinnamon roll... There is a ton of food and all of it is great....and you gotta get one of the cinnamon rolls out of this world! read more

We have lived here 6 months and this is the first restaurant in town that we've walked away from raving about its excellence! The decor is funky and fun, service is quick and friendly, food is delicious and well-priced. We had almost given up hope on Clovis restaurants but are thrilled instead to find this gem. This place was really awesome! The staff managed to be extremely nice and chatty without coming off as ingenious. The salsa was different but good, the only thing that threw me off was the fact their chips were actually just taco shells split down the middle. I ended up having the breakfast skillet with green sauce ( recommended by the waitress), and it was ridiculously good!!! The only down side about this place is the parking, so make sure you get there early! read more

I love this restaurant. I don't understand the appeal of expensive Mexican food, this is faster and better. The breakfast burritos are priced right if you want to eat on the road. The atmosphere is busy, which helps me study. The staff are always nice and prompt. And the food is genuine, good Tex-Mex. read more

My dad and I went here for breakfast. Service was prompt, efficient, and courteous. The food was very good home style cooking. The red chile, while a little thin (made my huevos rancheros a little too sloppy for just one flour tortilla), had excellent flavor and heat. Sadly, another disappointment in Clovis. This place always looks busy and I had high hopes. Stopped in for lunch one day and ordered the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. It was two bland chicken strips on a bun. It LOOKED good. But the bun was soaked from the grease from the chicken strips. You can tell they use the same, old grease for everything. And when I got back in the car, I smelled like grease. This place is what I found to be typical of Clovis...greasy food, dusty/dingy interior, but HEY they have green chilies! :-/ read more

I had the day off, my oldest at school, younger son at daycare, and husband at work. I decided to have an impromptu girls day with my 7 mo daughter. Didn't feel like cooking because I needed a break, so I asked google, "What is the best place for breakfast in Clovis?" This was not the first place listed, but it did have the most stars. I've been here for almost 5 years and have always wanted to go try it because it's a small town, might as well try everything before being entirely bored of it. It's small and quaint, but that is definitely part of the charm. You can tell it's a favorite of the locals because they piled in and the waitresses knew them. The waitresses were also extremely friendly. Got the Mexican omelet with pappitas and wheat toast. The omelet hit the spot, but you can tell that the papitas might have freezer burn. I can get past that because, really, I shouldn't be eating them (tell no one). Overall, I love the building and the omelet. Recommended 100% read more

THE PLACE to go for breakfast! There are few places for breakfast in the area, but this is always one of our top choices. We recommend their weekend menudo, it has a bit of a spicy taste to it, but it's delicious. Service is sometimes slow, but that's because they're always packed. Great green chile omelet. Friendly and quick service. Reasonably priced too! Everything looked fresh and delicious. I got an omelet, my friend got the juevos rancheros. Decent sized portions. Read previous reviews on Yelp which always influences my choice. In full disclosure my son and I had just driven for 2 days to move him from FLorida to Cannon AFB so we were very tired. Got there about 1pm for lunch on a Monday. Fairly crowded for that time of day. Ordered the chili verde cheese enchiladas. I expected to see a green chili sauce. Id requested no meat. Instead my sauce was very brown with an extremely strong spicy flavor. Not bad but just not what I expected. My son stuck with his reg chicken quesadillas which he says were "ok". Waitress very friendly. I didn't eat mine. Flavor was just way too strong for me. Normally the waiter will ask about it if they see a customer doesn't eat anything but I guess wAitress was as tired as we were! Next time I will stick to breakfast per recommendations on Yelp. I will give them 5s for their awesome queso & chips. Prob best I've ever had! I'm sure I will go back. read more

Probably the best place to eat breakfast in Clovis. Service can be a little slow on the drive-thru, but is usually friendly and reasonably fast if you can grab a seat inside. The prices are very good and the steak and green chili burritos are awesome! The chips and salsa and huevos rancheros are pretty good too. read more

I visited my daughter in the Air Force in Clovis and went here for breakfast the day before I headed back. Great service, refills without asking and the omelet with chorizo was great and not greasy. The pancake was made into a Mickey with ears which was really cute and the pancake tasted like buttermilk it was very good and I couldn't finish it. Please stop by wonderful restaurant with Mexican tiles on tables,chili lights and wonderful colors. Plus I believe they serve breakfast all day which is my kind of place. read more

for the past year i would see there sign out front... the best mendo in town. well i tryed it today. and it was really good. the tripe was chewy it could have cooked a few hours more. and the corn tortillas where cold like out of the cooler. but other then that i think this place has the best in town. i will be coming back every sunday morming. read more
