The energy in the restaurant was superb! Loud, upbeat dance music and exciting lighting and people in costumes dancing around our tables! There was also the view of the Hudson River right by our table. Unfortunately, the vibes seemed like the focus of the restaurant though. The food was not bad, but not really worth the steep price. We did get free shots at the end of our meal though, which were tasty!

Love this restaurant! I went for dinner, and the atmosphere was very lively and celebratory. The interior décor is beautiful, with bright lighting and a vibrant ambiance. They do fun birthday celebrations with your name displayed, sparklers, and music, which makes it even more special. The food was delicious. We had the lobster and crab cake empanadas, which were amazing, along with the jerk chicken, plantains, and seafood rice with lobster. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The service was excellent--our waiters were attentive, and the managers walked around greeting guests, which was a nice touch. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area has great views of the river. Definitely worth the visit, and I can't wait to return!

This is my second time at his location , even tho the food is spectacular and the waiters are very good , I think they need to seriously address reinforcement on the dress code . I feel like this is an up scale environment with a great view , vibe and ambiance. However I can't help but to notice on both of my visits that some people are poorly dressed , it's like going to a gala party wearing sweat pants . It just kills the whole vibe of the place . That should certainly be addressed by management. Aside from that the hostess should be a little more friendly as well as they are your post card when people walk in the door . We plan on going back at some point , but I wish they address these little concerns to make the place an even more desirable environment.

The place is perfectly located for an amazing view. The restaurant itself definitely needs some renovations, seeing portable AC everywhere was not appealing also it was dark. First thing I want to mention is there is valet parking which they charge for and to me should be complimentary when everything else is so expensive. However you can park by the Target for free and walk down. The waiting area to be seated was very tight, people were standing almost on top of each other. We were seated fairly quickly for our reservation, which was a plus. The waitress came around and greeted us. I was given a broken water glass, which was corrected. The menu items are as is on the weekends no substitutions allowed. The crabcake app was good had good flavor to it, along with the chicharrón app that came with 3 tostones and guac. For my meal I ordered the rum glazed pork chop that came with a side of spinach and mashed potatoes. For starters the pork chop was well cooked not hard or dry but the glaze was too watery, and no real flavor just a slight sweetness. The spinach had no salt just sautéed with minimal garlic and the mash was ok. I tasted my friend's coconut green rice which also lacked flavor and her spiced salmon had no spice. My favorite item of the night was dessert. The guava bread pudding was delicious and I would return just for that. The 3 layer chocolate mouse cake was regular. This restaurant is perfect to celebrate an occasion because they hype you up have the signage and music. If you are looking for less hype and music and more about quality food I would pick somewhere else, it all depends on your vibe.

Saw a World Cup watch party recently in their outside bar area. Food was just OK but drinks and atmosphere were cool. Nice decor. Trendy and gorgeous setting with views of the city.

Went here for a birthday and even though we made a reservation, it took a while to seat us. We were seated in the back area and they were blasting the heat so high, we were melting. The views were great, I'll give it that and the vibes are fun if you're there with a group. The food was kind of disappointing. I got the oxtail and it was so salty! The service overall was decent, they put a sign on the table for the birthday person and at the end of the meal (or during dessert), the staff come by with a light up sign and sparklers to celebrate. The manager even came by the wish the person a happy birthday at the end. Overall, it was a nice experience, but not somewhere I'd go often or recommend. Only if you're in the area and need to plan a fancy dinner that won't break the bank.

Went to Don Coqui for a birthday celebration , and it was great! The service is quick and attentive , we ordered the appetizer platter for2 ( forgot to take pictures) and some drinks to start ( vivid sonado) . I ended up ordering the roast pork for my main course and the portion is huge! We had a great time celebrating a birthday! They stopped by with a bday sign as well! A great place to celebrate a bday , the atmosphere is amazing, and great music!

The ambiance is great. Valet parking is available. The staff is friendly, and attentive. To be honest the food and drinks were not worth the almost 500$ bill. The food was a bit salty. The amount of food was very generous. But again not worth the price. Desserts were very good. Pernil was literally the whole shoulder. The vibe for a Sunday brunch was kinda dull. There was not many people in the restaurant.

A small group of friends and I dined here for dinner. Interior was beautiful and colorful, with elegant decor. The sprawling outdoor space in the back was gorgeous, overlooking the Hudson river. There was loud music playing throughout, along with a party-like ambiance. I had a bit of a tough time deciding what to order, but finally went with the Steak and Onions, served with rice and beans, along with maduros. No substitutions were allowed. The Steak was a generous portion, with plenty of caramelized onions. Steak was delightfully juicy, tender, and well seasoned. The Maduros were placed with the rice, which was nicely made. Maduros were soft and slightly sweet. In addition, I got to taste the Seafood Paella, featuring lobster and shrimp. This dish was the most impressive looking! The rice was perfectly cooked and bursting with bold flavor. Lobster was succulent with creamy sauce. Also tried the Tostones with garlic sauce. Tostones were satisfyingly crunchy, but a bit on the bland and dry side. The garlic sauce helped with that. Service was solid. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Everything came out in a timely manner. Prices are a bit expensive, but on par with the area. I would be open to returning to try the Grilled Marinated Lamb Chops and Coconut Rum Cake.

Yelp Elite Review Overall Rating: 2/5 Don Coqui Visit details: Tuesday at 7:00 PM, reservation for 2, no special occasion. We arrived on time and were told there was no wait, but were asked to step to the side while they prepared a table. There is no waiting area, so we were left standing awkwardly in the middle of the aisle, which I really didn't like. For a large restaurant, this felt unorganized. Seating is very tight. Tables are extremely close together and very small--the menu barely fit. You genuinely feel like you're sitting on top of other guests, which took away from comfort. Our server, Esther, introduced himself immediately and brought waters right away, which was good. Service was quick overall, and he was knowledgeable about the menu. I let him choose my first drink--the passion fruit mojito, which was well-balanced and refreshing but very light on alcohol. The Sexy Island drink was much more flavorful and stronger, and the Cabernet was good. However, one of our sides was forgotten, and later an order of parmesan fries never came out at all. We had to ask for it to be removed from the bill, which is unacceptable at this price point. Food was decent but not memorable. Appetizers came out in about three minutes--very fast, fresh, and good, especially with the mango flavors. Substitutions were very limited (for example, potato salad couldn't be swapped for fries). The steak was ordered medium and came closer to medium-well but was still flavorful, with good black rice and beans. The salmon was tender and cooked well, but the teriyaki-style sauce tasted very average--like a regular sushi spot--so you're really paying for the location. Spinach was okay (buttery/garlicky), and portions were filling but nothing standout. We were told after ordering that churros take 20-25 minutes, which should be communicated earlier. The vibe is loud, party-style Spanish music with very dim lighting (each table has a small lamp, but it's still hard to see). Dress code seemed flexible--I was in leggings, a T-shirt, and sneakers--but it was noticeable that status and aesthetics matter. We watched other tables receive free coquito shots and extra attention, while our table was skipped. There's also a cameraman going around taking photos, and again, other tables were approached, not us. It definitely felt like treatment was based on looks or social media presence, which left a bad impression. Parking is another downside: only about 20 public spots, and everything else is $15 valet. Not terrible, but inconvenient. Restrooms were clean but very tight. There was an attendant offering perfume/lotion and handing paper towels, which some may like, but it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. The stalls had chipped/unfinished paint, and the mismatched fixtures (gold accessories with a chrome flush handle) made the bathroom feel tacky compared to the rest of the restaurant. Accessibility is okay on the main floor, but the covered outdoor area has a step covered by a rug, which isn't ideal for wheelchairs. Overall, Don Coqui is expensive, loud, and very scene-focused. The food is fine, but the experience felt status-based rather than hospitality-based. For the price, I expected better organization, consistency, and equal treatment. I wouldn't return and would only recommend it if you're specifically looking for a party vibe and don't mind tight seating and inconsistent service.

Just left from having dining on a Monday night.... This restaurant is strictly for aesthetics and cocktails. The location is ideal with a beautiful view of NYC and it is so pretty inside and on the outdoor patio! Also, our server was very friendly. With that being said the food is very mediocre, lacks a lot of flavor... does not even taste like authentic Spanish food. Empanadas were mediocre, octopus seemed like it was missing flavor. The glaze on the salmon very good but the spinach and coconut rice had no flavor. Oxtail was okay but rice was hard. This location has so much potential wish the menu could be worked on.

Great spot for a celebration, love the menus. The drinks hit, the octopus appetizer a must BUT the coconut flan...... has me coming back! That cool custard inside a coconut OMG! "I thought I was in PUERTO RICO The entire staff deserves a huge applause ( front & back house) but my favorite two people our waiter and the bathroom attendant! The manger coming to table is always a nice addition. This location is not just a night out but a fun evening experience.

Went to see the Knicks Game 3 due to the advertisement on Social Media and that was the WORST DECISION! Only heard sound for the pre game show then projector went blank for about 10 mins right when game started! (screen stated something about paying for subscription) which should have been done prior to the game. Once projector came back on there was no sound for the whole entire game! Also Tv inside by front bar had no sound also and no other TVs were inside! DJ just ended up playing music extra loud all night! A lot of upset customers! Wasn't offered anything for the inconvenience not even an apology! Owner only went to the tables that were complaining! The views and scenery were beautiful and nice layout. The pink and white cushion seats along the sides were dirty (didn't get a pic) and needs to be cleaned. Bathroom was clean but the stalls can be updated. Food was decent.. nothing that really shocked me. I ordered Yuca Crab Cake, Shrimp Tempura Roll, two Red Sangrias which were pretty good and a Sparkling Water. Overall, if you're looking for a place to watch the game look elsewhere. We were better off going to Outback steak house right next door. Definitely will not return to watch any type of sporting games. This is more of a spot for special occasions (birthday, graduation, anniversary) but I wouldn't choose it for neither.

Skirt steaks - hubby said the temperature is cold when served .

Either way, we didn't agree with the bill and after some discussion with the bartender, it was lowered but they tacked on an automatic gratuity (I guess as a way to compensate) but it was only two of us, so that should have never happened, especially since gratuity is optional. This experience honestly ruined the vibe and our willingness to come back again. It's really a shame because we looked forward to Monday happy hour because getting good drinks at that price is rare in the city and is a nice gem when it happens. We were both looking forward to dining al fresco, but it turned out to be a raining morning, so we wound up inside instead. The venue change was not all bad, as the bright dining room was surrounded by windows offering just a slightly more obscured view of Manhattan and the Hudson River. The restaurant offered either a à la carte menu or a $41 prix-fixe option, which included a choice of one brunch item and two mimosas, bellinis or bloody marys. While my friend opted to include the beverage package, I stuck with coffee and a main dish. My coffee was bold, tasty, and refilled as needed. For my entree, I selected the Bakkafrost Salmon, which arrived as a long, thin filet of pan-seared salmon served over a Japanese sweet potato hash and plated with a tomato confit and a parsnip puree. It was further garnished with a black sesame tuile and a soy garlic glaze. The salmon was a bit fishy, but the rest of the accoutrements were fantastic! I love Japanese sweet potatoes and parsnips, so it was right up my alley. Whether one's in the mood for a cozy family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Sitting on the banks of the Hudson River in Edgewater, my partner, our friends, and I decided on a celebratory dinner at the Haven Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. A reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table immediately by the window inside their floor-to-ceiling dining room, evoking a relaxed yet upscale vibe. Their menu specializes in American/Mediterranean cuisine influenced by seafood, steakhouse, and pasta. For appetizers, we decided on Short Rib Crostini, Kumamoto Oysters, and Yellowin Ahi Tuna Tacos. Our main consisted of Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass, 7 oz Prime Cut Filet Mignon, Bangkok Roasted Duck Breast, Lenny's Lobster Pasta, Crispy Lyonnaise Potatoes, and French Butter Asparagus. We even saved room for dessert and got the Bailey's Crème Brûlée and Assorted Dessert Tasting for two. We washed them down with I Dream of Lychees Martini, Berry White Spritz, and Haven Espresso. Complimentary bread with softened butter started our meal. The food is presented like art, and the portions varied depending on what one ordered. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it and fair considering the quality. Our server, Juan, was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A wonderful night all around--we're already looking forward to coming back.

Usually that would mean that service is faster as the staff are walking out of the kitchen, but the service here was unbearably slow. We had to crane our heads to get our orders taken, to find someone to give us our bill, and to ask about our order. We ordered a drink (the second drink was sold out and my friend was uninterested in other options) and two appetizers and the drink came first, followed by a twenty minute wait for calamari. The calamari was probably the thinnest squid in the ocean and looked like shoestring fries, but the sauce it came in was delicious. There were approximately three zucchini sticks and four peppers in the calamari, which is on par with many restaurants, but less bang for your buck. It eventually became clear after another 10 min wait that our truffle fries were nowhere to be seen, and since we had to leave for our dinner reservation soon we struggled to flag a server, who then told us that they never put in our fries order. We obviously did not ask them to start making it for us, instead asking for the bill and then leaving. I wish I liked this place more than I did, but the service and staff here were so slow and hard to flag down it felt like we spent our entire meal looking around.

How could I not love a place with the name, Scarlet Lounge?…read more It takes a lot to get me to venture to this part of town and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a night out on the Upper West Side, but Scarlet has been on my list since I saw owner, Michael Imperioli's announcing the opening on Instagram. I found myself in the area on recent Friday evening and decided to meet up with two friends here. I was smitten at first sight of the beautifully-appointed room, with seductive red drapery and gold accents. Dorothy Parker holding court here with her Vicious Circle, sipping on Gibsons and martinis. You're going to have a glorious time. We were welcomed by a dashing gentleman at the door who kindly found us seating in the sultry little nook by the piano. Our server never left us wanting for anything and believe me, we wanted it all. Cocktail names are well-priced, especially for Manhattan. I kept to a decent bubbly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time here.
