Quality Mexican local Mexican food. Mexican food is my favorite cuisine and I seek out the best in each area. I drove over to Oregon City to try Don Chuy's because it had above average reviews. I liked the chicken burrito I had, but it was not worth the 20 minute drive. If I lived nearby I'd probably visit Don Chuys a few times a year though. The food here is some of the best Mexican food in the area with a self service bar to sauces, pickled carrots and jalapeños, and more. It's packed in the morning, all the way to the evening and it's worth it every time. The quesabirria tacos are my favorite I've ever gotten from any restaurant and their consomé is amazing. I prefer beef for my birria tacos and this place always delivers hot and delicious. Only thing I wish is that they didn't have a $3.99 delivery fee on doordash but when I'm feeling rich I'll gladly pay it for a late night meal. read more

I love this place! Every time we visit I order something different and each time I impressed. The shredded chicken has so much flavor. The birria is mouth watering and the pastor is yummy. Tonight I got the super burrito with birria. One of the best burritos I've had since I left San Diego. The meat was juicy and came together with the rest of the ingredients. It's a good portion size too. I ate half and I'm stuffed. Last time I ordered shredded chicken enchiladas. Definitely the best enchiladas I've had. The wonderful ladies that work there greet you as so as you walk in with smiles on their faces. They take the time to talk to their customers and make you feel welcomed. This place has the best bean and cheese burrito in Oregon City. It seems like they have home made tortillas. Their bean to cheese ratio is perfect and they use cheddar. Its 7.50 for just that. Their salsa bar is legit. Thats it. Everything else is subpar and expensive. Their portions are small compared to what they charge and the customer service is non existent. This restaurant has become a regular stop for us. The food is always fantastic and the service is always friendly. We've never received anything in our orders that wasn't correct. Everything from the meats, veggies, and tortillas always tastes fresh and are served hot. The dining area is always clean, which is important to me to dine-in. Oh, Don Chuy's. It is the best Mexican food in Oregon and maybe the world. It is like what B. J. Novak was saying about that perfect thing that should be a matter of course, but is, in fact, very rare and when you find it you think, "why isn't every place like this?" They never let us down at Don Chuy's and they charge an extremely reasonable amount for each fantastic, quality meal. The waitresses are nice and they are very good at giving time estimates about food readiness. It's cheerfully decorated inside and my husband said the restroom was very clean/pleasant. I used to love going here. I'd always get their 3-meat breakfast burrito, which is really good. However, last time I went, I found a piece of packaging in the middle of my burrito. Oh Don Chuy's, what would I do without you. After losing Mitzil a few years back Oregon City was lacking in good Mexican food. I felt lost, wondering from town to town looking for precious fuel with a Road Warrior attitude. Then I find Don Chuy's, they had a tanker full of fuel. There are a few Mexican places around that aren't bad either, but Don's brings it up a notch..."but this one goes to 11." The the three Birria taco plate is my go-to. The consome (sp?) is fantastic! They make delicious food! The shredded chicken was juicy and well seasoned in my taco salad. The nachos were loaded with good portions of meat, beans, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Not sure if they make their own nachos, but the were tasty. The quesoberria was also good (the sauce was great) tho it 4 pieces is a lot in one order and my kid cld only eat 2 before feeling heavy. This was our first visit to Don Chuy's since they recently opened. The restaurant was very clean with new furniture and well lit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Now the food: it was really good! We had the Al Pastor, carnitas, and carne asada tacos and they were flavorful, moist and delicious! I also had a tamale and it was good as well.
