Went with a group of 7 on a weekend night and I was glad we made reservations since the place was packed. The vibe is lively and fun. It's street parking which can be tricky in that area. Their menu had lots of great options. It was my first time here and was a little bummed that chips and salsa had to be ordered and was not complimentary. Also we had some kids in our group and they didn't have a mild salsa so the kids didn't really eat any of the salsa. Personally I liked their house salsa and also appreciated that they had 3 sauces you could use for your food at a counter to the side which included mild (verde salsa), medium and spicy. The kids didn't like the verde salsa either. Highlights- My daughter loved her steak taco and I really liked my 2 tacos- camarones and barbacoa. All 3 tacos had lots of protein on them which was awesome. We really liked our waitress Kimberlee. She took great care of us! Our friend really liked her margarita and fun bowl. Another friend loved her calabacitas taco. Things to note- There is not a kid's menu, but they do have a little quesadilla on their menu. I personally would skip the side of beans and rice and order another taco. We got a couple of orders of beans and rice and that was the only thing no one (adults and kids) didn't really liked. We ordered guacamole to start and it didn't have much flavor it was okay, but not great. There is a 5% 'happy kitchen' fee added to the bill. Overall I would recommend checking out this place! I hope to go back in the future to try their mole negro enmoladas. read more

Been coming here for years and it's decently priced, they heavily pack the tacos, and there's some variety on the menu. Appreciate the self service water and salsa station and their margaritas are good! It's not the tastiest food, there's better tacos elsewhere, but it's consistent with market rates and tastes! read more

The large chips and guacamole was more than enough for two people to share. Love that they have a salsa bar for you to choose what types of salsa you would like to enjoy with your meal. We both ordered tacos. After scouring reviews online, I ordered the pescado, camarones and suadero tacos. I probably skip the pescado taco next time. It didn't do much for me. The suadero had a lot of meat and was tasty but didn't especially WOW me. The shrimp taco is my favorite. The waitress did not give me the avocado sauce that it came with because she said most people find it too spicy. When I asked for the avocado sauce, she gave me something and it was not spicy at all, so I don't think that was the right one. It was good though. This is a decent place, but I am not sure how it ended up on the 100 best taco spots list. Maybe I need to try some of the other taco types. Service was great. They let us hangout and talk for quite a while and we never felt rushed. The place is clean and I loved the roll up doors which allowed some great fresh air to come through. There was a handful of homeless people in the area most kept themselves except for this crazy guy in a skateboard. We were excited to be included in their soft opening for Sunday brunch. The food did not disappoint. Brent, Kimberly and all the food preparers did a wonderful job. The menu was unique, with combinations of meat, rice, beans and eggs to tempt even the most finicky palates. There are vegetarian options also available. Oh my goodness, where do I start? I really liked this place! Okay, here are the challenges first: Parking is limited, they don't open till 4 pm (so no stopping in for lunch), and a mandatory surcharge of 5% is added to every ticket for the kitchen staff - but that's it. The positives are: seating was plentiful, the menu was comprehensive, the food was remarkably delicious, and the service was top-notch. Neither my friend nor I had been here before so we were OC Taco virgins. We ordered chips and guacamole first, then added on some "real" food. I had a camarrones de diablo taco (spicy shrimp) and Mexican rice, then topped it off with some freshly made churros that came with a super yummy caramel dipping sauce. She had a tinga de pollo taco (chicken) and refried beans, then finished it all off with a tres leches cake, which was huge! We had so much fun here! Margaritas were delicious, food was great, the service was even better. We'll definitely go again to try other items. Highly recommend the churro sticks! Food- the food is decent. We had chips and salsa and chips with guacamole- which I want to say usually it's standard practice to just give those for free however this specific place charges for each. The guacamole is alright- I get a sense that it's not homemade. Something about it doesn't feel fresh. The salsa is ok- it also just doesn't scream homemade. Feels more store bought. The chips are also super crunchy. They don't feel like they're authentic chips. I had a bowl with carne Asada- it's ok. Drinks are glass Coca Cola. So no refills. Service- the server checked on us quite a bit. Almost too much. I couldn't get a bite in before being asked how is it... allow time to eat and process. Ambiance- it's got a nice location and nice decor. I don't feel that I'd come back to this restaurant. I want authentic Mexican food and I don't feel this as authentic. read more

I was curious about this place after seeing it on a top 100 Yelp list. Then when we happened to come to a wedding in Oregon City, it was the perfect place to try for dinner with friends. Tacos were solid, enchiladas were solid, fun bowl looked decent too. Good vibe inside. In hindsight, it was definitely a good spot to eat. Portland is pretty decent for Mexican food, lots of good options. But this place is my favorite. Consistently consistently good, over time and across the menu. We've also gotten catering from them a few times. One time recently we went on a Saturday night and they were slammed, took quite a while to order and then get the food. Still worth it. I wasn't expecting to be super impressed by this OC eatery, but I was really blown away by the quality of the food. The Carne Asada was tender, not fatty, was cooked perfectly. Camarones a la Diabla (Shrimp) was fresh and filled with flavor, I also had Pescado taco (Fish) deep fried, it was good. Everything we had was fresh including the home made salsas. Now, a couple of tips I wish I knew before we ate here; #1 There is a salsa bar area where you get your own salsa for your table #2 when you and your party are done eating, you actually go to the cashier area and pay and #3 parking on weekends is free, no meter payment needed, trust me, I see lots of people putting money in them. I also had a wonderfully mixed margarita, El Jefe (the boss) bartender, knowns her stuff. All & All ; Service was at times scattered and the way they cover tables here is by committee, they were kind, helpful and worked hard. I would get the Camarones tacos again and the carne asada for sure. I will be a repeat customer for sure, when in this area. Super friendly and helpful staff! Cute and spacious spot in Oregon City, yet easy and busy access from I-205. Menu posted in the front right at the entrance door to help decision-making easier. However, it was outdated during my quick stop-by for takeout. The Ceviche Tostada listed with fish which was the only reason I came in since fish ceviche is my thing. The friendly staff informed me that they were no longer serving fish ceviche, only shrimp. I went ahead with the shrimp ceviche tostada since I was already there and hungry. While waiting for my takeout, I ordered the Virgin Nada Colada. I liked the taste of it, yet a bit more ice than needed so it was more slushy of a drink and a bit to a sweeter side. I ate the tostada shrimp ceviche as soon as I got home. I was disappointed with the fact that the shrimp tasted pre-cooked and then topped with whatever tops they put on it and some lime/citrus-based. Pre-cooked ceviche, especially seafood is not my preference. The Yucca Root Fritters sounds so good so I had to order it. They were so disappointed as well. They came in almost round ball shape. Mine was neither cooked nor heated through. It was like I ate half-cooked egg dough. Despite my first visit disappointment, I would give OC Taco another chance simply because I think OC needs and could benefit from more variation of eateries. OC Taco is a gem. All the food is fantastic, the cocktails are awesome, and the service is friendly.

I went to OC Taco because I received a lot of recommendations from friends about this place. And it did not disappoint. First off, it was spacious with tons of seating both indoor and outdoor. The staff is also super friendly. Seems family run and I love supporting family run businesses. We tried most of their tacos and appetizers. ALL of them were delicious!!! Their happy hour prices are really good so feeding a whole family here is extremely doable. I just wish they were open for longer hours so I can go anytime I want. We always frequented Taqueria Nueve in Portland. The owner opened another store in Oregon City, OR. Although the original store closed in Portland we are happy to report that the food and service at OC is just as good! The margaritas are sooooo good....All items are served with a smile. The tacos are great advertised. We had the Carnitas and the Carne Asada. They are probably the most mainstream flavors on the menu to be honest. If you really like Taco Bell, then this probably isn't the right place for you. But the service was great. They could've had a little bit more extensive salsa bar in my opinion. read more

So just like most places nowadays, really cute location great potential not so much on food preparation or keeping up the quality. To start out, let's talk about why no one seems to warm up their taco shells if you give me corn tortillas, straight out the bag throw some meat on it and bring it to the table that tortilla is going to get crumbly and fall apart. They need to be steamed and warmed up or grilled. This is common sense and I don't understand why an authentic Mexican restaurant needs to be told this. So first off the tacos were OK but get low rating for the tortillas. The location is cool except for the homeless drug addicts walking by the window while you eat with their pants down plus, I don't understand why restaurants have to be so damn lazy with their ice water you fill a dozen bottles and put them out in the beginning of the day. You don't provide any ice. No one wants to drink warm tapwater step up your game and do your damn job. Bring ice or chill your water bottles like a decent restaurant. The roasted beef salad was different not bad, but not really good. Could've used more cilantro and pet pitas to give it more flavor there was only one or two bites that you actually got a full combination of flavors in your mouth. Other than that it was just pickled beets on a plate. So this place did have a lovely waitress, but it's set up for you to walk in. Go to the tablet. Make your order sit down and help yourself so don't bother trying to tip these people like I said they can't even provide cold water. read more

Watch out. They take an automatic 5% tip but bury it hoping you won't notice. Tip 10% and you tipped 15% which is all they get. What ever you tip, they are really taking 5% more. Trump has caused high prices on everything. Why tip 20% or higher? I'm cutting way back. read more

The food is good about a 6/10 and is charging 10/10 prices. $5 a taco $8 for small guacamole and chips and $7 for an appetizer which was aight. Our food was $56 in total and was not worth it. Tried this place again because they had the best Caesar in town. We left little disappointed. I think they changed the recipes or got a new chef. The Caesar had a fishy taste, the calabacitas was not cooked fully and the salsa was thick like paste. The portion sizes were fair. The chips were fresh and the service was great.
