Happy Hour $8 Bites, $5 Draft Beer, $9 Cocktails Sept 7-2023
Louise B.

Sweet stop for Happy Hour 3-6 PM Daily as we walked downtown OC Main Street. Sat outside on a handful of outdoor tables and promptly brought water, menus and chips and salsa on the house. A mild salsa with a bit of smokiness but missing was fresh chips; these tasted stale like restaurant style warmed ones gone cold and served another day. $5 Drafts - Breakside Wanderlust IPA is always a great go-to hoppy brew as they were out of the Crux Hazy that we wanted to try. Replacing it was a Kona Big Wave Golden that Server/barman Miguel kindly gave us a sample but passed on. $9 Mesa Woodford Old Fashioned was a big strong pour with little added sugar which it could of actually used a bit more of but still satisfying. Both drinks came in heavy in a good way, and beautifully cut, glassware which made for a great feel and even better sipping, often overlooked at more casual restaurants but very much appreciated here! Star of the hour was the $8 steak tacos for 3 amazingly flavorful meaty wraps deliciously tender and topped with cilantro and onion. Will be returning for a chip re-do and those tacos with the great sips!

Chicken Fajitas

I love this place!! I recently rediscovered it after a while and it exceeded my expectations. The service is incredible, the food fantastic, and the ambiance is unmatched! My go-to recently has been the chicken fajitas, and they're phenomenal every time. Even their rice and beans are show stopping. I highly recommend this cute downtown OC spot for anyone looking for their next favorite hidden gem!

Food was amazing and the ambiance was better than I could have anticipated. The service was very quick and friendly. I would recommend the Seco De Carne dish, it was incredible!

What a GREAT spot on MAINT ST! Amazing food and great ambiance! The service is great, and the food is made fresh to every order so it does take a little longer than a line cooking restaurant where they just have the food held ready hot. That's a PLUS. The MARGARITAS are Amazing! Great spot during summer or winter to enjoy a cold or warm beverage with some yummy food to company it with

Mesa Fresca is located on a popular street in Oregon City and accepts restaurant.com which I am trying to use up so 3 of us headed over there for an early dinner. Unfortunately we did not know there was a "First City Festival" going on so we had to park rather far since the main street was closed off. The place looked nice and lots of people were already seated outside which means this place must be good! Right?!Unfortunately it didn't meet up to my expectations. The dishes looked rather plain and anemic and taste was so-so. We ordered 3 entrees but 2 of the 3 looked more like an appetizer or on-the-go lunch than a dinner entree Service was about a 6 out of 10, our water wasn't refilled and our dishes took a long time to be prepared. I hope this was a consequence of the festival and perhaps shortage of staff who were friendly and appeared to be trying to tend to everyone the best they can. Hope management can prepared for the onslaught of business during future festivals so quality of food and service is not compromised.

First of all I will say do not come here if you're in a rush. When I came I had plenty time to spare and did not mind waiting as I seen it was busy with only one server and he was bartending as well. Being in similar business kudos to him! I got some wine and Peruvian food and it was delicious! Love the open window seating and the sleek ambiance. It gives peaceful and modern and a nice place to just people watch and get some of the outdoors inside. Will definitely return. Love this area

Birria huevos rancheros with no meat ‍
Ashley R.

The birria huevos rancheros is pictured. This consisted of a four-inch tortilla topped with rice, beans, scrambled eggs (the menu said Sunnyside up?), green salsa, and "birria" which consisted of sauce with, I kid you not, NOT A SINGLE CHUNK OF MEAT. I found a couple of minute shreds of beef and that was it. I estimate there was less than 1/4 ounce of meat on this plate. This cost $17.

Happy hour menu

Came here for happy hour. Their Happy hour menu selection is everyday from 3 pm - 6 pm. We ordered for the happy hour menu and it didn't disappoint us. There was only one server so service was on a slower side but she was very attentive to us even though she was the only one working. The food was delicious and the $5 beers just topped it off.

I got the passion fruit mojito and it was great!

Their menu had lots of great options. It was my first time here and was a little bummed that chips and salsa had to be ordered and was not complimentary. Also we had some kids in our group and they didn't have a mild salsa so the kids didn't really eat any of the salsa. Personally I liked their house salsa and also appreciated that they had 3 sauces you could use for your food at a counter to the side which included mild (verde salsa), medium and spicy. The kids didn't like the verde salsa either. Highlights- My daughter loved her steak taco and I really liked my 2 tacos- camarones and barbacoa. All 3 tacos had lots of protein on them which was awesome. We really liked our waitress Kimberlee. She took great care of us! Our friend really liked her margarita and fun bowl. Another friend loved her calabacitas taco. Things to note- There is not a kid's menu, but they do have a little quesadilla on their menu. I personally would skip the side of beans and rice and order another taco. We got a couple of orders of beans and rice and that was the only thing no one (adults and kids) didn't really liked. We ordered guacamole to start and it didn't have much flavor it was okay, but not great. There is a 5% 'happy kitchen' fee added to the bill. Overall I would recommend checking out this place! I hope to go back in the future to try their mole negro enmoladas.

Adelina's Mexican Food…read more I absolutely adore this food cart through and through - and I can never get enough! Every single time I order from Adelina's, the food is fresh, incredibly flavorful, and made with so much care. There's a perfect balance of zest and spice in everything I've tried -- bold without ever being overpowering. The owners and staff deserve a shoutout on their own. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, and you can feel and taste that love and passion for their craft in every bite! The location is also a huge bonus. Being tucked into Corner 14 Food Carts in downtown Oregon City makes it the perfect stop -- grab food, go axe throwing, enjoy a beer at the bar, and explore the other carts... though honestly, Adelina's is always my top choice. Now let's talk food -- because WOW. The esquites are an absolute flavor bomb: creamy mayo, cotija cheese, tajín, and a slice of lime on top that you can squeeze fresh for that bright pop of citrus. It's indulgent, balanced, and so satisfying. Now: the underdog that everyone needs to try from Adelina's is their famous Tamales! I swear they are a major standout -- ONE OF THE BEST MADE AROUND PORTLAND! I mean the corn wrapping is perfect: not too thick, not too thin. Topped with crema and cotija, it's rich without feeling heavy. Don't even get me started about the flavor of the meat inside because the red sauce they make can use for their chicken inside the tamale... Unreal. I've also tried their beans and rice, plus the house guacamole (DO NOT SKIP ON THE GUAC; it reminds me of the table-side service guacamole we had in Puerto Vallarta) which is full of fresh vibrant flavor salted to perfection; it's finished with cilantro and lime for a fresh, clean bite. It's the perfect addition to literally anything on the menu. Anytime I'm feeling a little down or just need something filling that doesn't feel heavy or unhealthy, this is where I go. Adelina's always resets my day in the best way. If you haven't stopped by yet, please do -- or order pickup/delivery through DoorDash and taste for yourself and add another local staple to your family's favorite spots! There's something incredibly healing about food made with love, and this small local business truly knows what they're creating.

True speakeasy connected to the The Hive…read more This is a hidden gem in Oregon City and of course it should be, being that it's a speakeasy. I ordered a couple cocktails here and both were top notched. The bartender was busy but was still friendly. The vibe here is trendy and definitely a great place to bring a date. We were visiting family in the area and had two people in our group local to the area who had been there several times in the past. We first went and checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. The hostess was very kind, took our number and sent us to the upstairs bar to wait for a table. We were greeted by a friendly bartender who took our drink orders (cocktails and wine) and we enjoyed our beverages while chatting by the bar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large velvet green booths, all new, updated and well done. The drinks were all great. The downstairs hostess came upstairs to let us know our table was ready, and we paid and went downstairs. So far, we were all really happy with our experience. The prices of the drinks were all around $15-20+ but we were all okay with it given the good service (thus far), high end atmosphere, etc. There were people in there but it was a pretty mellow Saturday evening. We were given a nice large area to sit and thanked the hostess. The waitress came and was clearly a little overwhelmed but took our drink orders. I mentioned a drink my husband had upstairs and asked if I could have it, but was told they had a different menu down here and I needed to order from that menu. I looked it over while the others ordered their drinks, and when she came back to me, I asked if I could go upstairs to order the drink I wanted, and bring it down. She said sure. I put in an order for a couple food items with her, and she left. My brother in law kindly offered to go upstairs and order the drink and was gone for quite a long time. We learned that when he was upstairs, he went to the bar and mentioned I wanted a drink from his bar. The bartender's mood shifted and he said he had 10 drinks ahead of my BIL, and asked him to go downstairs to order. My BIL informed him he was told the downstairs bar didn't have the ingredients, and was sent up here. The bartender was annoyed and asked my BIL to go downstairs for 10 minutes and come back again to order. My BIL replied that he was happy to wait at the bar instead and took a seat. After a long while, the bartender curtly said that my BIL would have to pay for the drink up here, which my BIL of course agreed to. My BIL said it was very uncomfortable and the bartender was being rude (a couple sitting at the bar also mentioned this). We are guessing he was overwhelmed and didn't handle it well. He brought the drink downstairs, no problem. We were all sitting for a while and noticed that my BIL never received the beer he ordered from the waitress downstairs. And after about 45 minutes I asked about the food I had ordered (she hadn't checked in with us at all during that time, and I should mention it was not busy at all - several tables open). The waitress said she forgot to put it in. That was it. No offer to quickly put it in, no offer to comp a drink, no real apology. We asked for the bill and split it between two cards. When we got the receipts and cards back, my husband found they had given both him and his brother (the other payer) copies of my husband's receipt-so he assumed he was double charged. He went to the front to bring this to their attention and explained how he was upset by the poor service throughout the evening. He received a quick response that they had printed the receipt twice (didn't charge twice) and were short staffed that evening. We are all understanding people and my sister in law ran restaurants for years, we all had food service jobs and are sympathetic but really just disappointed in this place. I'm writing this review because the employees there just didn't seem to care about the issues we raised. They had an acoustic artist playing that evening who was phenomenal. If you go there on a different day with different staff, I'm sure you'd have a great time. But for the price and ambiance, we really expected better service.
