We stopped in for a margarita and some ships, salsa, and bean dip. Didn't check the menu for drink prices. It's kind of a dive. We were appalled when we received our bill. 14.50 and 15.50 for a margarita. No extra shots or anything. Never will I ever walk into that shit hole again. The service sucked too for that price. What a beautiful restaurant! This place will transport you to Puerto Vallarta its many plants, spot on decor and authentic food will take you on a mini vacation. We had a great lunch here! Friendly servers. Fast service. Great food! We stopped in here for lunch while we were in town for a car show. We were seated as soon as we walked through the door. We received chips, salsa and waters right away. Our drink orders were taken within minutes and when our drinks arrived to the table our food orders were taken. By the time we munched on some chips and salsa our food was on its way to the table. We ordered the molcajete azteca with corn tortillas and a chicken fajita with flour tortillas. Both were fantastic! The meats in both dishes were cooked perfectly with great flavor and plenty of grilled veggies. Our servers checked on us several times and never let our drinks or waters get empty. Each of them were very friendly and polite. The restaurant it self is nicely decorated and clean. It was a nice meal all around. We'll definitely be back soon. read more

I have a child with autism and the waitress was just giving us looks and treating us badly the whole time. If you have special needs child that a lil loud I would not bring them here at all ! There so judgmental. Even when we asked for a menu they took it from another person at the same table to give it to the other instead of bringing more. Rough service here for my last three visits. If you get the young man or Lucy as your wait staff, you're in good hands. Add a star. If you get the older man or the pony-tailed woman, be prepared for aloof, bored service with zero check backs or to go boxes without asking, refreshed drinks without begging, and the check without waiting at the counter for the hostess to chase down. Think a deserted restaurant on St. Patrick's Day is a good sign? I do, but tonight it meant lethargic, dull service. The food was fine, but the lack of service got to me tonight. Dinner was good, waiter was rude couldn't be bothered to slow down and listen, and the place only had a few tables with anyone there ! The the topper was we ordered dessert and honestly it was not good at all. The flan was bitter and had a hard egg lip to it that was very hard to cut, took 1 bite and stopped. The fried ice cream looked better but was even worse, the corn flakes were soooo stale I don't even think she took a whole bite. Tried this place despite the bad reviews... Now I understand. The salsa was not good and made with tomato sauce. The food was bland, very little flavor (tacos, enchilada, rice, tamale). Service was slow. To top it off, some of the chips in our basket had retried beans on them ... how does that happen? Maybe were the put back from another plate? read more

I've been coming to this place for years BY (before yelp) and assumed I had a review posted. The food isn't bad. In fact it's pretty good and you can order a lot of items from the A La Carte menu if you don't want to order the larger plates. Sadly they don't exactly clear up confusion, if you're confused, as I was. I asked for two taquitos on the side and they brought me two tacos. Later the server came by to ask me how were the taquitos. I felt like maybe I didn't understand what a taquito is but if their online menu is current, they offer taquitos as part of a plate but not as a side item. They do offer tacos on the side. I think that's foul play. But to be honest, I think the tacos were pretty good. The queso fundido was not to to my taste or the wife's taste. Perhaps it was more authentic than we are accustomed to (using different, mexican cheese?) but it was grainy, the consistency was just wrong The service isn't bad either - we were waited on quickly and we weren't lacking for beverages on one of the hottest days on record, so that's cool. . The menu is a bit more extensive than a lot of the places in the area - we just didn't have a terrific experience this time. Perhaps we will come back in another year or so and try it again. Everything I have tried until now has been completely tasty and perfectly balanced within the plate. The chips and salsa is super great with their warm chips perfect crunch and salsa that has just the right kind of kick. From their signature dishes to great sized appetizers all the food is great and we enjoy going here all the time. The only negative is the prices, but it actually is not that bad if you find yourself a really good dish that you have to have over and over again. Good food and very friendly service. I do a lot of call in orders for lunch at work, they are close by and always have me taken care of in a timely fashion. The menu is enormous, it's almost daunting. While I really like to staff and the food is good, this is not a place to go and get your taco fix. They do far better on the more complex dishes than the simple ones. So if you are looking for a quick and easy taco, I suggest you go elsewhere. But, if you are looking for an enjoyable sit down meal with the family this is one of the best places in town. read more

I've been here once before and thought I'd give them a second chance...same result. Bad food and bad service. First time the food was meh and this time the "Super Nachos" are anything but. Service is terrible. The only one in the bar (waiting out traffic) I asked them to turn the volume up on the TV. With them making drinks and banging I couldn't hear anything. I was told no and that I should move closer to the TV. Wait staff was sparse and seemed too rushed to help me. I didn't see a lot of traffic to reflect that they were busy. Came here with my dad for lunch. We both got the chicken taco and beef enchilada combination. The taco was a hard shell that resembled Taco Bell in a way. When we got there, we were seated immediately, Chips and Salsa was brought to the table along with water. Then we WAITED, and waited, and waited, for them to come take our drink order. When they finally did, we were ready to order our meal. We ordered our drinks and meal, we were graced with our third basket of chips, and we waited and waited for our meal. Another basket of chips was brought out...really...FOUR baskets of chips for three people? By the time our meals arrived, I was full from all the chips. I ordered the Steak Fajitas, my partner ordered the Colorado Burrito, and our companion ordered the Shrimp Salad. None of us finished our meal because we were so bloated on chips and salsa. My fajitas were long on onions and short on steak. (there were five tiny strips of steak in the pan) I had asked for Corn Tortillas, and was brought Flour Tortillas. They were not worth the $13.95 price tag. The refried beans I was brought were bland and I was graced with a stone in the beans. Luckily I didn't chip or break a tooth! Through the course of the meal we were only checked on once when they refreshed our water. In fact had they checked on us more, I might have remembered to complain about the stone in my beans. Now Canby isn't a super large metropolitan area, and the establishment wasn't crowded, so the service we received was totally unacceptable. While the food was decent, it was clearly 'americanized' and lacking any spice. We go to Canby quite often but I fear we will not be coming back here. read more

The Chips & Salsa here is better than average. Its like a chunky Pace Pacante. the food is good, the service sometimes is good. Usually its spot on when you get there, but then after the Chips and Salsa come its a waiting game. need a flagger some times. Now remember that when you order a drink that is refillable. It is refillable, if you can get a waiter to refill it. I gave it 4 stars for the Chips and Salsa. But in reality it deserves a 3. When I'm in Canby with my Boss we frequent here. We both are snobs when it comes to chips and salsa. It happens to be the best in town. Mental Note, they some times offer specials, make sure they discount the food.
