I'm only giving two stars because the service advisor was at least friendly, and I didn't not book my service appointment with him directly, but rather online. I booked an appointment for a simple oil change and tire rotation for 11:15am. I arrived at 11:00 and met with a service advisor. I gave him my name and he asked what they were doing to the car that day...I specified that they were to do a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. Nothing major, just a simple maintenance visit. I was informed that it would be at least a 2.5 hour wait and that I'd be better off to bring the car back at 7am the following day. I explained that I made an appointment for 11:15 and wanted the car worked on at or around 11:15. He stated that would not be possible, so I took my keys and went to South Pointe Honda, where they worked me in on extremely short notice and got me in and out in ~45 minutes. My wife took our Honda in for recall work, also had a free coupon for an oil change given to us by our salesman. We opted to let them rotate our tires, a 19.95 costs. Somehow my wife was charged 24.95. She asked what the extra was and she was told tax? When did people get charged tax on labor? and at a 25% rate? This somehow doesn't seem right to me. I have purchased 2 new cars from them but this makes me rethink future new car purchases. Also considering contacting the state tax commission to see if this is standard practice. UPDATE- I was contacted today stating that I was overcharged. Evidently they charge a shop fee that is a percentage of the labor, however I was also charged tax on the oil change which was supposed to be free. My opinion just went up considerably. read more

I had a similar issue with Don Carlton Honda. Very good mechanics but hard to deal with the accounting staff. It is their contention that the customer should pay Don Carlton for any service done under insurance and the customer would then have to go to the trouble of being reimbursed by their insurance company. Not professional and certainly not customer service oriented. Most of the problems I had were with a Mgr of service accounting. If she worked for me I would be concerned as to how well she represented the best interest of my company. She could certainly use a lesson in customer service and professionalism. RWA read more

My car needed an oil change so I went to Don Carlton's express service today. I've always been pleased with their service. However, I was very disappointed and surprised that NONE of the employees interacting with the customers were wearing masks. I really don't understand how a business can be so irresponsible. So much for putting your customers first. If you are an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19 and not wearing a mask, there is a 70% chance you will transmit it to a healthy person that IS wearing a mask. If you think wearing a mask isn't necessary and don't want to listen to your local officials and don't want to accept CDC guidelines then please call your doctor and ask their opinion. One of the main reasons people shy away from using a dealership for repairs is the cost. The biggest benefit in using the dealer to repair their brand of vehicle is their knowledge of the brand. I recently ordered a trailer wiring harness for my Ridgeline from Don Carlton. It came in the next day as promised, giving me time to do the install before my trip to the coast. When I inquired about their shop doing the install, it was quoted as a 3 hour job and over $300!!!! After looking at the instructions and the parts involved I decided to tackle it myself. 45 minutes later the job was complete. If I had to install another one I could probably do it in about 20 minutes. Had I been quoted an hour for labor I probably would not have even hesitated to have the work done at the dealer. read more

I have a 2016 Honda Pilot. Had multiple recalls. I took the car in for service so we could figure out what was wrong. After paying that fee, they told me I needed to change fuel injectors. Around 500 dollars later still no fix. Then finally they fixed the recalls when brought in a 3rd time. I went to pick up and the 10 mins down the road engine light comes on. Back again 4th time. They tell me gas cap. Done still engine light. Back again 5th tim, Cadillac converte. After this what is next. They have no idea what they are doing. They should get negative stars!!!! read more

I have never been treated worse in a dealership in my life. I've been going to this location since 2016 July because I moved to Tulsa back then. I bought my car from John Eagle Honda at Dallas and all the experiences I had with that place was amazing. I was treated almost equally well here in Don Carlton for a while as well. But recently things got significantly changed and today finally I took my car to the other dealer in the city for the first time. First, I took my car to express service area. My oil life reached to 50% and my maintenance plan (from Ethos Group) covers it. The gentleman I gave my key claimed sharply that my plan won't cover it. I explained him nicely that I have this car for almost two years and it always covers it at 50%. I advised him to check my file and there are information over there of when I got my oil changed and extra information about my maintenance plan. He then went to check and I went to waiting room. He came with asking me to pay almost $40 extra on top of my plan. I clearly stated that my plan should cover the full cost. He said that the plan covers up to a certain price and it is not reaching the service fees they charge. Then I asked him how come I haven't paid anything until that day in the same place for more than a year and he said that it was the sales rep matched my price while he wasn't supposed to. Then I told him that I got served by multiple people in this time line and asked him if the prices went up and he told me that the prices were same. And then I asked him how come all other people matched my the price with the care plan I bought from my dealership but he can't. He told me that "I won't get my price $40 lower for you. That's the price." with a very rude attitude. I told him again that I bought this plan from my dealership and this is a plan for Honda dealerships. There should be a way to either make them match or make the dealership match because I paid a lot of money for the plan. He said that "this is not Honda. This is Don Carlton. We just sell Honda in this location. That doesn't mean that we will do what Honda does" I don't even know what does that mean. The guy at the next boot told him there is no need to talk because their service chief told them that they won't match the prices. Then I asked for my visit history for the location with the amounts they claimed from my plan. I took my car and left very disappointedly. I called my plan provider on my way to other dealer. They told me that they have a limit upon their agreement with Honda but almost no one exceeds those prices ($45 for oil change, $19.99 for rotation and $34.99 for air and cabin filters which sounds very fair). I tried my chance at the other Honda location and they changed my filters and oil with no extra cost. This is the full detailed story that you can confirm with all sides. I'm not even talking about taking my car three times for a service request in past week for my AC and they still can't fix it. My AC makes a loud noise and my car has 31k on it. It's still a new car younger than 2 years old. It's under factory coverage. But I guess I'll take it to other dealer for that problem as well now. Also since it is relevant now, I'd like to mention at the bottom that in my first visit, a sale representative in the used car section that I asked a question about cars told me that he didn't understand a word I said (I've been living here for 10 years. Yes I have accent but I never experienced and communication problems before and after this.) Then I started to repeat what I said slowly and he just turned back while I'm talking and got inside the main room and sit at his desk like nothing happened. I was a little shocked and just kept walking back to my car. So after all these horrible treatment and unsuccessful fixing trials, I decided not to go back to this place ever again. First off, I couldn't get anyone to help me or show me any options. They only showed me one vehicle I went in to trade my vehicle and upgrade when I asked a question to the man who appraised my vehicle. He suddenly became enraged and continued to scream in the lobby at me in front of other employees. Don't recall the name of the guy who screamed. I just walked away and took my business to Chevy. After spending the last two hours at this place and accomplishing so little, I don't even have the energy to type it all out. But basically, if I could give this place -400 stars, I would. Ever since walking off the floor after purchasing my vehicle, my salesperson and the other salesmen have had zero interest in my questions and concerns. They delivered the car to me without a part that I paid for (part + labor) and took a year and a half and a lot of stress to finally get the part. They still owe me for the labor, since I would never have them touch my car again. The service department said they changed my oil and updated my meter on the dash to say so, but when I took it for another oil change 5 months later when it was due again, my trusted mechanic at home said it had never been changed, that he has never seen oil look that bad, and that a screw was missing. The mechanics at this service center also banged my car door on the counter (and LAUGHED about it) and left oil smears all over the inside of my car door. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. They sent me from one area to another with my concerns and not one person would take a single bit of responsibility or even apologize for all the chaos. I am a nurse and had no intention of being rude to anyone in a service position because I know how that feels, but this was absurd and it's unfair that my first car buying experience had to be this bad. read more

I have an 11-year-old Accord that needs a little TLC every now and then, and I trust these guys to get the job done right, at a reasonable price, and without ever trying to get me to pop for extra services I don't really need. I have the hybrid model Accord, and I took the car to another Honda dealer about a year ago, and they told me I needed a new hybrid battery at about $2000. When I started having more problems with the whole hybrid system recently, I went back to Don Carlton instead. I'm glad I did. They did some computer diagnosis, reset a few things, cleaned some contacts, and everything is running right again. Only cost me a little over $100. Got the transmission serviced at the same time for $85, which is about half what one of those quick lube places wanted. The Don Carlton service department really knows their stuff. read more

I took my son's 2001 Honda Accord into the Express Service area to have his headlights replaced because they were beginning to dim. I was told it would take 30 minutes and we'd be out of there. 45 minutes later while seated in the waiting room we were asked if we ever have had a battery issue even though the battery was only 1 year old. I told them we have never had any issues with the car and we just needed new headlights. One hour later we pay the bill and go to leave. Turn the key and nothing happened. Turns out we need a $450 starter that we did not know we needed before leaving car unsupervised for an hour. Hmm...the irony. No issues with car in the 1.5 years he's driven it, 1 hour unsupervised and now we need an expensive repair. Coincidence...maybe!! I will say everyone I dealt with was very friendly and seemed concerned but I'm still out the cost of a repair I didn't know I needed. Makes me wonder if the car would still start if I had not had the headlights replaced. read more
