Green enchiladas

My husband and I just love this place! I got the green chicken enchiladas and he got the asada burrito.

Best guac ever!
Frank C.

We ended up here by accident and it was one of the best dining mistakes I've ever made! It is truly fair to say that I just had the most delicious Mexican meal of my life! I cannot confirm with 100% confidence, but I will bet you money (and I am no bettin' man) that they prepared the guacamole for our guac' and chips immediately after we ordered it. It was so fresh and delicious and delightful that it cannot possibly have been scooped out of a pan of guac made earlier that morning! And - we heard a lot of chopping immediately after we ordered it. So that settles it. TL;DR it was the best guac I've ever had. Ever! I also ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and had no idea what was about to be presented to me. Again - the most delightful, most delicious batch of chicken enchiladas I've ever had! The chicken was spectacularly grilled and presented inside a large, flat, scrumptious corn tortilla. Even the rice and beans were fresh and delicious! Far, far above the common experience. If I had any complaint it was simply that the portion size was too large for me to consume in one sitting and the price was too cheap to adequately reward the folks who worked so hard to produce such a delicious meal ;) The space is a bit small but they also have a nice outdoor patio. So get out of your house and get down here! They have a small but dedicated crew so bring your patience with you. You'll be greatly rewarded! Places like this are what keep me a Foodie. It's so exciting to find unassuming places like this that deliver such Joy and Excellence! Gracias! :)

Amazing tacos in aloha. Right off 185th and tv highway. They have a small parking lot as well They are just doing takeout right now. Got the taco platter w 6 tacos and the double Fish taco. Food was amazing. Carnitas was my favorite will come again

The husband and I were trying to decide what to eat for dinner and wanted to try some place new. So we stopped in to Don Asado for a quick date night. The staff was very friendly and the place is pretty cozy. The menu is a little limited compared to most Mexican restaurants but what they have they do well! I was excited to see Chilaquiles on the menu so I ordered that with chicken and my husband opted for his usual carne asada burrito with guacamole. We decided to get some margaritas to round things out; I got the coconut/pineapple margarita and my husband got a lime. The only thing missing was dessert which they don't offer, because I love ending a Mexican meal with flan.

Wanted some tacos so we came and I absolutely loved their pastor and Asada meats. I loved their green salsa too it is the japaneno type instead of the tomatillo ones. It is definitely rare and I'm glad I found my jalapeño salsa here. Otherwise the other salsa was kind of watery. Will definitely come back.

Are they still doing takeout only? Or are they offering dine-in service again?

Is there rice and beans inside the burrito or served on the side?

Does this place accommodate for peanut and tree nut allergies?

I'm vegetarian. Do they cook with lard?

I am vegetarian as well but not so strict as to expect perfection at any restaurant, except on that is completely vegan or vegetarian. Don Asado's is authentic Mexican cooking made by the nice folks. They make so much of their ingredients on site… Read more

I really should have stopped there. They were very filling. I don't know what I was expecting but they are potato taquitos and topped with meat. A good amount of it too. The bummer is that it did not travel well. When I fit home I ate the crispy ends off but has the middles as leftovers. Almost like chilaquiles. The pork taco was very good. I like the microgreens on it. I was hoping the tortilla was fluffier but can't argue with handmade tortillas The fish taco was put together well but I am not a big fan of chipotle. It was glazed in chipotle and the slaw was chipotle so I was not a fan. For the size and quality the price is right. On par with any decent taco place around.

Ambience: The decor is colorful and vibrant without feeling overwhelming. It has that perfect balance of lively but still comfortable. It works for date night or mom's night out. The energy feels warm and inviting. Service: The servers were attentive, friendly, and efficient. Food came out quickly, but nothing felt rushed. You can tell they care about the experience. Food: The margaritas were simple but outstanding -- refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. The fried chayote completely surprised me. If you've never had chayote, it's a mild, slightly crisp squash. Here, it was fried golden and light with a tender bite inside. The dipping sauce was incredibly flavorful -- bold, savory, and layered. Every bite honestly punched my taste buds in the best way possible. Nothing bland here. We also ordered the braised beef taquitos, and wow. Crispy on the outside, filled with potatoes, and topped with flavorful delicious beef on top and clearly made fresh to order. Everything tasted vibrant and well-seasoned. Overall, ambience, service, and food were all top tier. We'll definitely be back.

We all had an amazing time. It's so good that local celebrities like Eric Miller (Timbers' #15) was there dining while we were enjoying our food. SERVICE Zoe's amazing service is worth calling out, first highlight of our dinner. She was happy, funny, sprinkled zesty remarks that made us laugh, brought food fast, recommended great dishes, clarified all of our questions - Precisely what one expects from the warm Mexican server. It would be unfair to not mention the rest of the staff, it's just that Zoe was the unapologetically the best. FOOD Just the highlights from everything we had: - Chilaquiles Tarascos ($18.99) + Egg ($4): Our measuring stick for Mexican food authenticity, so we ignored how pricey they were for chilaquiles. These are chips in salsa topped with meat and egg. The way they make this dish sets the bar high for all other Mexican restaurants! - Machete con Carne ($18): Delicious giant taco with hand-made corn tortilla, cheese and up to 2 meats of your choice This is what I ordered based on Zoe's recommendation. I'm a 6'2" 215 lbs. man and I felt that I shouldn't have eaten the whole thing, BUT I DID! - Horchata: ($6.2): You'll taste the rice and the cinnamon, like the one Abüelitas in Mexico make. - House Made Flan ($6.99): You'll taste the egg in this flan. I can hear the chef yelling to the cooks in the kitchen when they're making this: "¡Con huevos!" - Café de Olla: ($6.20): AUTHENTIC MEXICAN Coffee! This is not a novelty you find on Instagram where lattes are poured on pastries, no. This is THE REAL DEAL. AMBIANCE We sat outside, the weather calls for it. Simple wooden picnic tables to enjoy the weather, not much needed. It was a difficult decision because inside the decor is BEAUTIFUL. - Outside: About 6 picnic tables sitting 6 people each. - Inside: About 6 or 7 tables for 2, and 3 booths for 6 and 4 tables for 4 people. - Parking: On the street and a small parking lot for about 5 vehicles. CLOSING THOUGHTS This business is doing everything right by representing Mexican culture. They're not adding American cheese just for the sake of catering to a certain demographic. They're hiring people who can speak Spanish from Mexico to provide a great service and experience. You can see the LOVE that the owner(s) are pouring into this business, if you see their taco trucks (I saw 2 parked in their parking lot) or need catering, do yourself a favor and try them. Our server was very slow in bringing our first (maybe 5-10 min) and second (maybe 10-15 min) round of drinks. Overall, the food was good, the service wasn't.
