Going to this place was rather eye opening to see how ignorant some people can be. I walk into the diner and are greeted by the hostess who asks if my service dog, Cadence, is a service dog. I say yes. The hostess asks for her papers. ADA states you don't have to show papers for why you have a service dog, as it goes against HIPAA. I show her my papers from the organization that trained her anyways. She calls the owner. Owner states I have to leave because two of his cooks have allergies. ADA states that allergies are NOT an excuse to not allow a service dog at the business. My dog has been certified for over 2yrs. Never, and I mean never, have we been met with such ignorance and hostility. I am sickened by the absolute disregard for the law and the audacity to believe they are above the law. We were treated like crap and thrown out. I called them and asked to speak to a manager and the woman said she was the manager and I said I needed her name because I'm reporting them to the ADA and she said that I needed the owner's name and then hung up on me. Businesses that are uneducated like this, need to brush up on their ADA Laws and know that they are in violation of a person's disability rights. Do better, Dom's Diner. Your lack of knowledge of the ADA Laws is disgusting. read more

Tried Dom's for the first time. Saturday morning at breakfast time and it was packed! We were seated and waited on quickly. Our server Sam was great! She stopped by several times to check on us. We ordered the breakfast special 2 eggs, meat, hash browns and toast $4.99. Our eggs were a little under cooked but within 2 minutes they had fixed this issue, with no problem. Food was very good and you get a lot. 3 pieces of bacon or 1 good size piece of ham half the plate was hash browns. The toast is nice and thick. We will be back. read more

I used their take out option the other day since I was craving a decent dinning type meal. It wasn't a great experience to say the least. It was somewhat easy to order but their customer service wasn't exactly friendly. I would have overlooked it if the food was good, but it unfortunately it wasn't. I asked for my burger to be medium done, but the meat patty was well done and a little dry. They also forgot a part of my order, which I had to drive back to pick up after I got home only to still get that part of my order wrong. I decided not to address it since I would have to make another trip back. I'm also positive they gave me salsa with my cheese sticks instead of marinara sauce. It's a shame that my first experience here was okay and then later having this last experience end up being a let down. This place would have received a 4 star if not for a couple things. I hope the owners read this as I'm also going to put it on yelp. Good things: the place is clean and has recently been redone and looks very nice inside. The service was good as far as my waitress who was very very nice. The food came out quickly and the drinks were refilled without asking which is so nice. The food was a good price and very good quality for the most part. Bad things: the mashed potatoes are real which normally would be great but they don't mash them the entire way so it's lumpy. Some people might like it that way but I like my mashed potatoes completely mashed up. They need to use milk and butter in the potatoes and it would taste better. Last thing is that I ordered one scoop of ice cream and was charged double because I had about a dimes worth of chocolate syrup on it. The owner wasn't very friendly about it. She needed to talk to her waitress instead of just believing me. It was a bit of an ordeal just to get her to take it off my bill which I thought was tacky. You want to treat customers right. I didn't realize that adding about a half teaspoon of syrup to one scoop of ice cream would increase it by two dollars. Customer service should be important to them. read more

Done with business for the day we chose Dom's because the parking lot was big enough for our pickup and utility trailer. We were seated immediately and the waitress promptly took our beverage order. We ordered without issue, except I'd asked for extra sauerkraut on my Ruben. Once the food arrived you could tell it was fresh. The flavor was great, except it didn't have much kraut on it at all. I didn't make a fuss, as bring a little short on rotten cabbage just before a two hour drive may have been the wiser court anyway. The fries are very good! Not overly seasoned or salted, so you can add what you like if you feel the need. When we were done with our meal I asked if they had Fried Twinkies. YES THEY DO! Do I ordered two servings, and it comes with two Twinkies along with a scoop of ice cream. Haven't had them with ice cream before, and that really adds a nice flavor. So I decided to bring three home for the family. I let her know I'd like three Twinkies to go, and of course no ice cream. No can do. That will be two full orders (four Twinkies and two scoops of ice cream). I explain to her that I need to bring them all the way to Grand Rapids, so the ice cream is out of the question. I offer them idea of substituting the ice cream for one Twinkie which would result in only three instead of four. NOPE. FULL PRICE FOR TWO ORDERS. Oh well, I bite the bullet, I've already promised fried Twinkies to my 86 year old mother. Then I get the bill... she dinged my an extra dollar for the extra sauerkraut! $1 upcharge on a $7 meal! We have repeated issues every time we come here. Either the order is wrong, the food tastes horrible, or they charge for something that should come with the meal. Getting anything togo is hit or miss as they'll leave something out or mess up the order 7 times out of 10. Good luck getting anything resolved. You'll speak to waitstaff who aren't allowed to resolve it and have to go speak with a manager too afraid to speak to the table themselves in order to say it's policy not to replace their terrible food just because it's bland or has no flavor or they used expired meat. Trash restaurant and it's a shame they took the place of a better coney island. read more

It's a awesome place. My husband got the dominator and took a lot of it home. The food was hot and awesome. They have the best sweet tea around hands down. I am pretty lucky about sweet tea since my grandma was from the south. This was by far the best. Even over Mc'Ds. Go there is such a selection of food. Food was good! Went at a busy time though so the service was bad.....which is understandable. We tried to get boxes for our food when an employee asked us if we needed boxes we told him yes he jokingly kept pretending to give my dad a box then pulling it away and stated it was like a commercial. He gave us all boxes except my dad and walked away laughing..I was weirded out so I got up and went to the cashier area and got a box for my dad, come to find out the mans name is joe the owners father. A few months ago, we picked up my grandparents from the airport, late at night and figured we would give Dom's a shot since we were starving and had no place specific in mind. When we got in, we were seated immediately and greeted by a young waitress. My grandparents are very picky about what they like to eat and sometimes can be quite hard to deal with, so it is very important we have a waiter/waitress who is patient. We got just that, she was so sweet and explained everything on the menu to them, spoke up when needed to, and even made regular daily conversation. We ordered our food, and I got chicken alfredo which normally is not my go-to considering I don't care for pasta foods, but I did this time. I am so happy I did because it was delicious in every way and I had enough to take home which is always good! Everyone at the table seemed to like the food, which is always a plus. She came back a lot to check on us and if we needed something she was right on it. We left full and very happy. Yesterday I ordered baked chicken on take out. Took back yo work. Sliced into it and it was pink. Pink and pink juice. Called the owner and she mentioned bring it back. She took one look and told me its white and I'm color blind. I explained how chicken should not be pink. She said "we have always done this....now leave." I had to beg to get my money back. The worse customer service! Very rude and unprofessional, if I could give negative stars, I would and it's sad because I normally order there due to convenience but never again! They took down my order wrong and gave me the wrong food and when I called to resolve the issue, they just deflected and acted as if I was the worke there who wrote the order up wrong on the ticket. Instead of helping me, the manager TRANSFERS me to an EMPLOYEE who also didn't give a shit because Aaron never messes up or make mistakes at his job, so he says. Just dined in. Food was good. Won't be going back wait staff had their masks pulled down with the exception of 1 waitress. The manager who runs the cash register didn't have one at all and walked around the restaurant. On the door it says masks required.When we received our bill a mandatory gratuity of 20% was already added to the bill and upon paying the bill with a card there was an extra space for additional tip.
