My, my, my...Welp, looks like I'll be driving from Richmond until I work through their menu!…read more This place is "EFFING" legit. I've stood in long lines and paid a lot more for locally loved, (non-tourist-y), cheesesteak spots in Philadelphia that can't hold a daggone candle to this spot in lil' ole semi rural VA. Just a fantastic cheesesteak. Get it with everything. Fantastic bread. I got the seeded. It was perfection. The bread was warm & toasty with the right amount of fillings, whereas somehow the sandwich held together & didn't fall apart upon biting it. Gotta have a functional sang which! Clean place. Clean bathrooms. Most importantly, the owner seems to care.

Come on now--you already know I had to stop and see what they were hitting on! Listen, I don't know who Royal or Cooper is, but they are doing something BIG in Troy, Virginia. Everybody claims to have a good cheesesteak, but the bread can make or break the whole sandwich. This bread was soft, the steak was packed with flavor, and everything was done right. But what really took this place over the top was the chopped Italian--10 out of 10! Royals of Troy, you officially have a new customer. Anytime I'm traveling on I-64, this is now one of my stops. I'm sorry to report that this place has gone downhill since my first review…read more For some reason every time I order a well done smash burger it's still pink. After microwaving my burger for a minute it was still not done in the middle. This is a real turn off for me because I cannot stand any pink in my meat especially after I ask you to make sure it's well done. My husband said the smoked chicken was disappointing because the meat had zero seasoning on the meat. The skin was seasoned well but the inside wasn't. He reported the mashed potatoes and corn were just ok but the green beans were very disappointing.
