Outstanding pizza. The entire menu is excellent. The pricing is very fair. You get a large amount of food for the price.

This is the best pizza I've had (in NY, Cal, anywhere). Really nice people too! Always a great meal! Try to go every week!

Stopped in for a couple of slices. Crust was crunchy. Sauce did not have a lot of flavor.

Gave 'em another chance. Three good pies in a row. No burn and the lady helping was very nice. Willing to upgrade the review.

We made the hour drive to check out Dr Ho's Humble Pie. It's been around nearly 30 years, but this…read morewas our first time. The hype is not over stated. First things first. This place is popular and there will be a wait, so plan accordingly. It's not terribly large but has a friendly family vibe. They turn the tables as fast as possible, but the wait is worth it. Next the food. We ordered a special combo which gave us the cheese bread (Fat & Sassy), any large salad on the menu, and any pizza for $50. It was about a $6 savings. It was more than enough for two. We took home most of the bread and the pizza. The Delmarva Shrimp Cobb was fantastic, especially with the lemon vinaigrette. The Little Mermaid Pizza was truly unique. Shrimp, roasted tomatoes, pesto, cheddar, Feta, and Mozz on their delicious thin crust. It was definitely a fork and knife pizza. As we watched around us, everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. Wings, mozzarella sticks, soups, Chinese inspired bowls. It's a varied menu and every plate around us was cleans or boxed to take home. Bonus. All the servers have been with the company for 10 years or more which says a lot about this organization and its management/ownership. Definitely plan a trip.

Four of us grabbed dinner at Dr Ho's Humble Pie this past Friday after we got situated at our…read moreweekend getaway in the area. We weren't sure what this restaurant would be like, since we drove through a dark and narrow road to get there. Much to our surprise, this was a full sit-down experience, and we had to wait 30-40 minutes to be seated. We decided to share the TRIPLE THREAT COMBO! (49.99) which comes with cheesy garlic bread (their signature!), one large salad, and one large specialty pizza. This was a lot of food, and we had enough leftovers to feed another mouth and half. THE FAT AND SASSY Their menu claims that this is the "best garlic cheese bread ever". And indeed it was because I wolfed down seven pieces of that bread within 15 minutes. I love that this was practically a pizza -- round pizza dough topped generously with cheddar and whole cloves of roasted garlic. The cheesy grease and pungent aromatic flavors exploded in my mouth. After seven pieces, I knew I had to stop because there was other food to come. CAESAR SALAD This was a typical Caesar salad with above average Caesar dressing, but there was just way too much of it mixed in. Besides that, pretty solid! I would ask for the dressing on the side in the future. THE HEAVY HAND This is Dr Ho's version of the Meat Lovers pizza, which was topped generously with sopressata, capicola, Italian sausage, and other ingredients like shaved onions, mushroom, and variety of cheeses. We got this one because we wanted more protein, but unfortunately, with the amount of cured meat that was slathered on, it was overbearingly salty. After my first slice of pizza, I started taking meat off my slice because it was too much. Overall, 3.5/5, but bumping to a 4/5 because we were pretty sure we would have had a better experience if we chose a different pizza. Still, I'm happy we got to try a restaurant in the Charlottesville area that is popular and well-loved by locals. Also, fantastic pricing with honestly the best cheesy garlic bread I've ever had. I would recommend getting here ASAP especially during the weekends because they don't take reservations or call ahead orders for dine in.

The pizza had great…read moretextures- thin crust on the bottom but bready at the edge, and the right amount of cheese and spicy sausage topping. We each got a pizza and were able to finish both since we were starving. We loved the pizza scissors! Our server was prompt, and we felt lucky to be seated right away on a Wednesday night. Their connecting bar was having a concert outside, with what felt like hundreds of people in attendance. We also learned that we could park in the industrial warehouse lot next door since it was after 5 PM. We'll be back!

SERVICE We came in on a rainy evening and were told the…read morewait might be about 45 minutes...and no space to wait indoors so we sat outside in the covered patio and they came by to let us order drinks as we waited. Thankfully, got the drink and were called in early about 15 minutes into the wait. That little surprise made things start off on a good note. Once inside, we sat at the bar since there weren't tables available and we were HUNGRY and cold! Even with the weather and a busy crowd, everything felt smooth and relaxed. AMBIANCE The place was small and cozy with a warm vibe that instantly made us forget the rain outside! The cool shallot-shaped lamps over the bar gave off soft light, making the whole space feel super calm and inviting. Sitting at the bar felt right choice for us for our first time -- close enough to the energy of the restaurant and people watching and seeing the pizzas get made but still comfortable! There's a soft buzz but cozy enough to chat and just feel at home. FOOD We ordered the Abruzzo pizza with beef and pork meatballs, fiore di latte, San Marzano tomato, basil, and pecorino. It was hearty and rich but still balanced. We also wanted to try the Prosciutto pizza, which was not the favorite but still good. The San Marzano tomato sauce for the Abruzzo was the star of the show. We were sad we didn't order another pizza with the tomato sauce to switch it up but oh well, another time right?! Loved the floppiness, the tomato sauce flavor, and the crust! Have to love the scissor-plate idea -- very clever and so easy. And size of these personal small-sized pizzas perfect for 2 people so we could have room for dessert and not have leftovers! We finished with the Zeppole "donuts" which were fried ricotta donuts tossed in cinnamon sugar with a hint of lemon (which I LOVED the lemon here and cinnamon sugar worked perfectly!). They were light, warm, crispy and just what you want at the end of a meal. The food was delicious, though definitely on the pricier side ($16-$18 each for the small pizzas, $9 for dessert. Still, everything felt thoughtful and worth it for the quality!
