Previously they've misplaced corndogs for chicken tenders, but get everything else right, which sure, thats fine. I can look past that. Not sure how you can add someone elses order to mine in the drive thru though, tell me you're charging me $10 when I order it and pay for it but actually charge me $22.55, which I unfortunately didnt realize until I got home. Genuinely don't know what to say as thats just wild to encounter. Granted it is late and the drive thru was busy but still, that means someone else didn't get their food, but also didn't have to pay either...maybe don't have one person reading the orders and another passing the food?? Guess im having a date with myself tonight. Interior: Not the employee's fault here, but whoever thought that metal chairs in a tiled floor wouldn't lead to extremely loud dining needs to sit here for 5 mins sometime. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I found myself in this area. My body was screaming for protein and I thought chicken tenders would hit the spot. I'm really happy I found Deen's Bistro. I came around 4pm so was the only customer there at the time. It was nice to see that it was a halal spot. I was immediately welcomed and was able to place my order quickly with the cashier. It took about a little over 10 minutes for my chicken tenders to come out. It was nice to learn that they were fresh and made from scratch. There was seating inside, but I opted for take out. I had to wait a bit to eat since they were freshly made and hot. The spices were pretty nice on the tenders. Overall, I'd give the tenders a 3.5, could be because I went during an off hour. They also gave me a huge generous serving of some sauce. Glad I could grab some protein.

For a dine in experience they have good bbq probably the best I've had in cville so I'd be back. The restaurant is decorated with football and military memorabilia with nods to local firefighters and likely police departments as well. They definitely lean into an "army family" aesthetic. Their customer service is top notch and everyone who works there is very polite. This is definitely a "yes maam yes sir" type of restaurant. The food is great and I was actually surprised at the prices. I remember feeling like they were absurd while ago but we are for two for $15 each and had plenty. We shared a 2 meat platter with the brisket and pulled pork and made it an XXL combo that came with a side and a drink. Got us to about $22 and then added a side of mac and cheese and a bottled drink so we got to about $30 even for 2. The brisket and pulled pork are fantastic. Iv had Nashville BBQ so it's kinda hard to compete but this is probably the best I've had in Charlottesville. The meats are all good I personally prefer a bit more flavor but they're at least a 4/5. The sides were literally all great. The baked beans are prob the best I've had. The Mac is solid prob a 4/5 same with the corn pudding. The platter comes with a complimentary side of cornbread. This was a 2/5 (too dry and crumbly for us). The house sauces are all amazing and they have PLENTY of choices (I think 6 altogether inspired from different regions which is cool). We did not have leftovers - it was good portion for 2 people but we didn't feel stuffed or have extra so if you're SUPER hungry just add some extra sides. The food is good and for the price we would definitely be back!
