This was our first take out order from 5 guys during the Pandemic- but it won't be our last!! I didn't know they were open- and I got an email from Barracks Road Shops that mentioned that 5 guys was open- for take -out or curbside pick up!! The website was easy to maneuver to pick all your favorite toppings( grilled onions!! Yummm!) and ordering was clear and fast. We got there and called the phone number for curbside pickup and a masked, polite young man brought the bag of delicious food to our car! We got home and enjoyed an easy Sunday dinner!! Usually we get more expensive burgers- but are completely satisfied with our food from 5 guys- also they have No Bun, and Lettuce Wrapped as choices- for everyone who doesn't want a bun!!! Thanks 5 guys for making our quarantine more fun!! read more

Five Guys - Little cheeseburger - Burgers Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

The burger was just ok but the top were not crunchy and fresh. Everything was smushed together and I definitely didn't enjoy the burger. It was bland. read more

This location is always friendly and generous with fries-expensive but the generous fry serving and jovial staff makes it worth it, thank you ! read more

Update post. Great service! Hot and the best. Last two trips were on point with fast and great service

Our burgers and fries were great and portions were generous. The staff were friendly and our food came out fast. It was our first time at this location. We'll definitely be back when we are in town. read more

The food is wonderful, best burgers and fries I've had. A little pricey but still really good. 15/10, would recommend.

Really good tasting burgers and fries that, yes, are a chunk more expensive than McDonald's but guess what, you will usually pass a McDonalds on the way to Five Guys so just go there if you're going to complain about the cost difference. Would I love to see Five Guys a bit cheaper; of course, but as it is, it is a "special occasion" meal for us and not a "we need to grab something out tonight meal. It was very clean and the service was very good. read more

Grub Hub delivery was perfect. No condiments included with food. Site does not have an option to choose condiments so I called the store to make sure they included ketchup for fries. Was assured they would. None. What is a fry without a condiment!? Hence, as we all know the fries are not the greatest when delivered once they cool, so condiments are a must. read more

Good, consistent location, 1 out of 3 in cville. If you need a tasty burger or grilled cheese don't hesitate to hit this spot. My norm is the Bacon Double Cheeseburger with bbq sauce and jalapeños. I can't get enough!! The staff is always nice here and deliver what you request. Every time that I have ordered from here I haven't waited long either. The quantity of fries and toppings definitely aren't skimped on. The interior could use a little more cleaning as far as table tops but I have witnessed some sweeping action happening within the restaurant :). The exterior is part of a strip mall so it is well maintained. Depending on the day parking/distance could be an issue. read more

I don't know why Five Guys seems out of place in Cville to me.. Alas, tucked into the corner of Barracks Road Shopping Center, the shiny red, sans serif neon sign, beckons you to come in for a no-frills burger and more fries than you can eat. Five Guys is alright by me. Their large size fry can feed a small army and the burgers really are good. This location doesn't sway. We were addressed with friendliness, and we were in at a slow time, so they chatted to us a bit as we waited for our burgers. I think Five Guys counts as fast food, but it ain't McDonald's; your burger is still cooked up fresh as ordered, so you'll have to wait a few minutes for it. Worth it. They aren't gourmet, but again, they are well-cooked, topped with the classic toppings, served hot and fresh, and they satisfy that American burger craving. Five Guys burgers are probably floating right there when you close your eyes and think of the Platonic idea of "burger." There's nothing fancy about the food or the place itself, but the retro style of clean, white tile with red accents sets a fun, easy mood and your burger, served wrapped in paper feels genuine. I don't frequent, but I do enjoy! And the fries sometimes call to me in my sleep. read more

Solid Five Guys location in a convenient spot. Five Guys always does well with food, but this one is especially great based on their outdoor seating area. It is clean and open to all, and a great addition to this small Five Guys in Barracks shopping center. read more

Don't waste your money on the food here. The burgers are consistently dry af and tasteless. They can't even put basic salt and pepper. The prices are insane for less food. The patties and the bread has shrunk. The fries as expensive af and they give a lot less. read more

I'd go to Five Guys because every-time you get a burger, you get free peanuts. They also have their own board for reviews. They have crayons and you can draw on slips of paper and put it on the board for everybody to see. read more

When I'm in the mood for the burger I'm often in for no nonsense and no unnecessary frills. Five Guys always deliver the goods with their burgers, heavy on taste and usually pretty heavy on their fry portions. Fast food done right with no compromises on tatse. I was pleased to see Five Guys making an appearance in my home City on the other side of the pond also. read more

Five Guys - Burgers Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

Was recently at your restaurant, I know prices are out of sight, blt, fries and drink 17.00, come on fellas. And wondering why there was 3 customers in the place at 1230. You are going to price yourself right out of business and it's coming faster than you think. it's going to be a long time before I come here again. Insane prices!!! read more

I've been a customer at this location since they opened about 15 years ago, and it pains me to say that after a recent management change, they are the worst Five Guys I have ever been in - by far. The fries are soggy, cold and limp. I've asked until I'm blue in the face to have them extra crispy, double fried, and so on. I've emailed Five Guys corporate to complain how this particular location has gone downhill, can't cook fries, and gets orders wrong, but they are ignoring me and nothing changes. And now things are so bad that every time I order, I just get random toppings on all the sandwiches but none are even close to correct. Do yourself a favor, and go to a different Five Guys that actually cares about the food quality and actually upholds the reputation that Five Guys has worked so long to build. And to Five Guys corporate, this location is trashing your hard earned name. Please fix it! read more

The food was good but expensive for burgers and dogs. Burger place carry out for three that rang up at $97? Too much for me. Ordered on yelp, went in when the app said it was ready. It wasn't. The guy behind the counter said grub hub was going to deliver it to me. Don't know how that happened since we very carefully selected pickup. Then had to wait as numerous people came and picked up their orders while they made our (2) milkshakes and made an enormous bag of fries that we weren't able to finish. It's a really busy popular place but overpriced not the best service. read more

Ordered a large French fries. They didn't fill the cup. The normal is dubbed the cup. The manager on duty said the new owner, didn't want to give the extra. That's probably not what corporate would want. Maybe they will start charging for mustard read more

Do not waste your money at any Five Guys in Charlottesville. They are owned by the same person. The fries portions are not correct & attention to detail on burger order is not there either. read more

I really do not know how anyone can award a place that provides peanuts to your heart's content anything less than 5 stars. ESPECIALLY ELEPHANTS!!!!! All right, terrible jokes aside, they only serve hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries. But wow! are they delicious and greasy. The small menu works because of their fully customizable burger with the fresh add-ins. The fries are delicious and the price point is a seller. Rating this place based off a fast-food joint standard, Five Guys is top notch. Now, all they need is a drive-thru window and a soft serve machine to compete with McDonalds and they're all set. Who else can claim that their meat is NEVER preserved in a freezer? That's what I call fresh! Plus, free peanuts! read more

My boyfriend rated it 5/5 and me 3/5, so it's a 4/5. Disclaimer: I hate burgers and greasy foods. First of all, I was impressed by the amount of fries they give you! The whole bag was literally filled with fries. It wasn't the thin, crummy McDonald fries, but instead thick, crispy, potatoe-y fries. I must admit, it tastes pretty good! The fries are also fried with peanut oil, so it added another layer of flavor on top of the salt. The burger was also surprisingly good. The meat was freshly grilled and tender and the cheese was warm and welcoming. The lettuce still retained its crunch and the bun was soft and fresh. Definitely not my type of food, but I can see why my boyfriend loves it! For someone who abhors fast food, I would eat Five Guys again in the far away future. read more

My father ,my son and I stopped in from out of town. - very good food - clean and friendly - It was busy and they had the food out quickly read more

Much of this place looks and feels like my beloved In-n-Out Burger in California. The red and white tiling, the extremely simple menu, and made to order fast food nature of are all very much the same. The only differences are the ample peanuts to snack on while you wait and that they use slightly more meat for your burger here. On the negative side, I prefer In-n-Out's fries much, much more. read more

I like this place but I feel like it gets more credit than it deserves. Is it better than McDonald's or Burger King? Of course. I love their commitment to fresh ingredients, fresh potatoes etc. But, if you're looking for a serious burger, you can find a number of better ones in any city where you find a Five Guys. In Charlottesville, Blue Moon or Miller's are better. The burger itself never really stands out. The selection of toppings is nice and I never feel like the quality of the ingredients are sub-par. But, I feel like you end up tasting the toppings and not the burger. Particularly if you get it with bacon. The patty itself is good but not extraordinary. Although I appreciate the fresh potatoes, I don't actually love the fries. In fact, I've been known to pick up McDonald's fries to pair with a Five Guys burger. The problem is that the fries are really dense - when paired with the bun and the burger you can easily feel like you are overloaded quickly. The crispy McDonald's style fry is a better compliment and less likely to overwhelm the burger I think. Good place but check out local burger spots in whatever area you are in if you want a serious burger. read more

2 stars is for the fries. Five Guys somehow keeps pulling me back for the fries, even though each time I vow never to return. The burgers just plain suck, and there's no two ways about it. I really don't get the hype. Here's why: - overcooked and underseasoned patties - gummy, untoasted buns - if you ask for mayo, mustard or ketchup (or even all 3!) they hardly put any on - the american cheese (lame) is usually a half-melted, luke-warm mess - the toppings (ie. lettuce, tomatoes) are fresh-out-of-the-freezer, at an ice cold temperature, and have zero flavor. Not to mention, the place is ludicrously expensive. Everything is a la carte, so a burger, fries and drink will set you back 10 bucks. This ain't New York. Sorry. You can get a better burger at Wendy's. Mmmmmm.... Wendy's.... read more

Whenever I think about 5 Guys the song "Woo Hah" by Busta Rhymes starts playing in my head. My gut and my heart be damned, I'm going in! Large cheeseburger with sauteed mushrooms, A1, lettuce, tomato, sauteed onions, pickles and a side of fries please... Yah Yah Yah Yah Woo-Hah!!! Yo baby girl don't be confused...I just consumed 2200 calories and I'm ready for a nap. read more

First off...I have to say I am very flabbergasted that there are not one, not two but THREE Five Guys in Cville. Wow. Anyway. Hubs requested a visit here the weekend before he started his Biggest Loser competition at work because he wanted a double cheeseburger. I don't eat a whole lot of meat, so I just drank a diet coke, grabbed me a handful of peanuts, and nibbled some fries - it's all good =) read more

Bottom Line: Five Guys is delicious, but absolutely horrible for you. One regular cheeseburger and regular fries is 1460 total calories and 85 grams of fat! Check it out for yourself: http://fiveguys.com/menu/nutritional-information.aspx Unless you happen to be a triathelite you should probably never eat this. read more

This place is a solid joint for burgers and fries. There's like dozens of Five Guys and I am sure it's the same pretty much the same everywhere because they keep their menu minimal. They do burgers and fries, that's it. I love that it's no frills, has a hometown feel, and unlimited toppings, of which are numerous in type. read more

Nothing famous about these burgers, other than famously bad. Burger patties were dry like they had already been cooked and sitting under a heat lamp. Bacon was sitting on a basket ready to be tossed on. Cheese wasn't melted. Grilled onions were close to raw. Entire burger was cold and flavorless. Nobody in the family liked it. The only redeeming part of the meal were the fries, which doesn't bode well for a place that specializes in burgers. Nothing like other 5 Guys burger places we've been to. Don't waste your time, go to some other burger place. Red Robin was leagues better. read more

The food is really good but staff need to pay attention on what customer is ordering on line. This happen twice . I specifically said no darn onions and they LOADED it to t up with it! What is the point of customizing orders when people are not reading it. Beyond mad. No more five guys for me! read more

Small is big when it comes to 5 guys. The "regular"burgers have 2 patties and the "little" burgers have 1 patty. A "small" fry is still a whole potato! I think a large fry would be a bag full of fries with a side of hamburger. Quality isn't bad. Hamburger is good and fries are fried in peanut oil. So is recommend ordering small burger and small fry. Save your money. If you're still hungry after that, order more. This location has very limited indoor seating. The outdoor seating around the fountain is limited as well since it's in the middle of a shopping center and is located right next to Panera Bread. read more

pros: This place really deserves a shout out. I have never been treated so well as I have here -- at the Barracks Five Guys. They are all smiles and politeness every time I've gone. They even can make gluten-free (sans buns) burgers for you if you ask. Why? Because they love you. cons: As good as these burgers are, they're not the best. The best burger in the world is still out there; it eludes me. overall: If you need to be pampered, this place'll do it. Please note: you may become sleepy as a result of pampering and eating. read more

I highly enjoy Five Guys. Highly. The Husband and I stopped here for some quick nourishment on our way to a wine festival. We needed full bellies. This place met our requirements. The Five Guys franchise does not disappoint. I've been to the ones in northern VA many many times, and the Five Guys here in Charlottesville lives up to the name. The burgers are as good as you can order from a restaurant, service was quick, and of course the free peanuts while you're waiting! The one black mark on the menu that I've tried is the bacon cheese dog. The cheese was low quality American, and the hot dog was so-so. Stick to the burgers and fries and you can't go wrong. read more

They have burgers hot dogs and fries only! (Thats a good thing) To many places try and be everything to everyone. This place is having new locations pop up everywhere in this mid atlantic region. (Just saw one at Dullas Airport. Same review) The burgers are fresh and the fries are made fresh right in front of you. I like the pallets of potatoes next to the kitchen. Toppings are fresh and this is one of my favorite burger chain burgers. read more

Got dinner here after hearing about the amazing burgers from a friend. Had to try it at least once. Easy to find in the Barracks area with cool black and white tiled floor- very American. Didn't sit in- but there were a few tables both indoors and out. Got the Hamburger of course, which was great because you could have a choice of toppings! Had the regular size, which was huge! So definitely be aware that the little size might be what you're after if you aren't starving or don't have a big stomach. Had to get the burger with Fries- 5 Guys style! A fan of the chain using pure, no cholesterol, tasty peanut oil! A super filling dinner! A decent burger, if that's what you're after! If you like burgers and fries- this is a super-excellent place! If you are ordering for a family of five, do not order five orders of fries. You get so much that there is no way you can eat that much! Two people can split a small order of fries and still have plenty of fries to eat. Burgers were fantastic. Highly recommend! Oh yeah, the FREE peanuts are a real bonus! read more
