I came here on a Wednesday night around 9:30pm for some dinner with my sister and friend. We got lucky with getting a table because a group just left, you seat yourself. Our waitress was really nice. I did the Baked Goods cocktail and they did the Old Fashioned cocktail, all was really good. For food, I did the BLT with fries, my sister did the hot dog, and my friend did the Nasty biscuit. Took a spontaneous roadtrip and ended up in Charlottesville for the wineries! Inevitably, we ended up on the strip with all the cool bars & restaurants! I did not eat here, but bounced here from other restaurants & a crystal shop for a drink! On the table they had a specialty cocktail menu! Say less, I'm ordering from that! I ended up choosing the Scruffleupagus - Masal Chai Old Fashioned! At first, the very friendly server was like... what did you just say? LOL! I drink old fashions pretty much anywhere I go, and this one was so DELICIOUS, unique, and well balanced, but still maintained its strength! This place has immaculate food, beer, and most importantly service. I wish I had caught the name of our server. He was the tall black man that took orders from outside. One of, if not the best service I have ever gotten from any establishment in cville. Dude is just fantastic. The food here is very good. My Rueben was just as good as I wanted it to be and the appetizer of pimento cheese was good and very unique to put on the menu. My only gripe is the beer is quite a bit overpriced in my opinion. For ordering draft beers I cannot justify the price when many other establishments within walking distance have a better beer menu at cheaper prices. Maybe the move here is to take advantage of there excellent bartenders and see what they can whip up. Would definitely come here again as the place is just fabulous. Just not to buy beer. read more

Went here for dinner with my fiancé. Though it did kind of seem like a touristy spot, the outdoor seating had great vibes under some big oak trees and in the hustle and bustle of downtown. Miller's is a lovely jazz bar on the downtown mall in Cville and has to be one of my favorite spots in town. The service I've had has always been excellent and the kitchen is open pretty late. The unique cocktails on the menu ensure a fancy bar experience and the kitchen is open late. The fish was perfectly crisp and the fries did not disappoint. The pimento cheese was a nice touch with the chips (both potato chips and tortilla chips). Enjoying a meal like this while being feet away from a live jazz ensemble is truly a Cville treat and I'm always looking for an excuse to come here! read more

The food at Miller's was good but I don't see myself wanting to come back for a second time. I got the chopped salad with chicken and the chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked but I wished that the lettuce pieces were smaller since it is a chopped salad. My friend got a double angus burger with chips and said that it was just a regular burger nothing too special. My other friend had payed extra for fries on the side but didn't receive the chips that were suppose to come with the burger originally along with the side of fries. Halloweekend and I was dressed as Cupid. Was told that I need to wear a shirt or get out. What Cupid have you seen with a shirt? Maybe that is their policy, but I think it's super whack. Fun, chill atmosphere for a quick drink and place to hang! From the outside looking in, it's a hidden gem. There's live music throughout the week and plenty of locals. The bartenders are always very friendly and the crowd is usually fun, though more relaxed. Not too loud or crazy, but definitely a good spot to meet friends on the weekend(s). I ordered a sky blue sky, which has mint and dry gin. The last time I came I had cross eyed strangers (yum!) and a sleepy kisser, which was also really good. Though the prices are absent from the menu, expect anywhere from $8-10 for cocktails and speciality drinks. I spent about $11 tonight for a drink and (generous) tip. There's three floors: on the main floor, you can find a dining/seating area, a bar, and music. On the second floor, extra seats and dining space, mostly tables and chairs for eating. There's a bathroom downstairs and upstairs. The third floor is the SMOKING area, mostly locals/regulars. There's another bar, some arcade games, and pool tables. Lots of smoke. Saturday night, we got to Charlottesville late and headed out to get some food. Someone said to me in the hotel lobby that we should call ahead to any of the bars or restaurants and make a reservation. We decided to risk it and just go. If it ended up pizza slices back at the room, we had beer with us, and it'd do. We arrived at Millers and it looked crowded by a table of 10 just left. My husband went in to ask about a table and they asked us to hang on. They hustled to clean up the tables and get things ready, and we got a prime spot up in the window. We played Pokemon Go, enjoyed our drinks, watched the pouring rain come down, the bachelorette parties scurrying between the raindrops, and we ordered drinks and late night snacks. I had the nashville chicken fingers (hell yes) and my husband had a burger. We also had chocolate martinis, because they were out of cheesecake, and Anna (our server and mixologist) was the best. We wanted to go back on Sunday, but they were closed. Oh well. Gave us a chance to visit another spot but we'll be back at Miller's again. read more

This is an unassuming and underrated restaurant; the food was absolutely delicious! The tavern chips are a must order. A giant bowl of homemade, hot, seasoned chips smothered in blue cheese, thick-cut bacon, and cherry tomatoes for only $6. We then split the fried green tomato salad and added sun-dried tomatoes which paired well with the delicious cornmeal-crusted tomatoes and goat cheese. It was inexpensive as well. The interior could definitely be spruced up and brightened, so we opted to sit outside. I tried to go back for brunch once since I'd heard excellent things about their biscuit sandwiches, but when we went we were given a very limited menu and told that something was wrong with their kitchen. Service the whole night was great, and the atmosphere was great as well. Have to say that the highlight of my night was my cocktail. I ended up getting something that I totally don't remember the name of (forgive me I'm a novice) but it was delicious! For my meal I got the spicy chicken and was pretty disappointed. There were way more fries than chicken, and the chicken was a little chewy at certain parts. My friend got a burger and felt the same way about her meal as well I would say that it was an average meal, nothing special. Have eaten here a few times and it's not bad. Consistently average is what I'd give it... and I'm not saying that in a bad way in this case. For lunch or dinner on Downtown Mall, it's quite reasonably priced with a menu that's got a wide selection of offerings. The best description I can offer of Millers is that if given an opportunity to go to an Applebee's or Locally owned place, I'll pick Miller's. Food wise I'd say it's a comparable experience and probably same with service. Definitely nothing I've ever eaten here leaves me saying , "oh man, you gotta go to Millers to get ______", but there is also nothing that's every totally turned me off. At the end of the day, it's a good family dining, reasonably priced restaurant that's not a chain... so if your at the Mall and you don't want to drop $30+ per person on dinner, it's a great option. read more

We were touring the area and arrived in Charlottesville right around dinner time so just took a walk down the pedestrian street to see what looked good. Miller's has an attractive spacious outdoor section under tall leafy trees right across from the restaurant with well distanced tables (no umbrellas so it was a good thing the threatened rain in the evening didn't happen). Like most restaurants these days they have a QR code you can scan for the menu but also disposable paper menus if requested. We had the burger and spicy fried chicken - both very good, chicken portion a bit more substantial than the burger unless you get a double. Probably the most reasonably priced menu along the pedestrian mall, perfect for a casual quick bite. Service was prompt and attentive. Note that they do add a surcharge for credit card payment - not much but it was indicated on the check that there is savings in paying cash. read more
