Some friends showed us this place while visiting Charlottesville, and I'm happy to report I will be making a stop every time I'm in town! What a unique gem! The interior is so moody, with soft lighting and a mix of floor and table seating. There are also some private booths (with curtains) that would be amazing for a date. A huge menu with a lot of choices, including food and coffee (and tea, duh!). I believe they also offer hookah but we did not partake.

What a delightful spot in the mainstream to be, with tea, with the self, and with each other! Drink, relax & be merry! Oh, also great vibes and energy ^-^ Such kind and welcoming people too

I have been dying to go here since I moved to Charlottesville FIVE years ago, and it did not disappoint! I am a huge lover of tea, and the menu is incredibly extensive. We ended up trying a delicious red tea, and it was so nice that it came in a red teapot to tell it apart from the other teas on the table. It was perfectly steeped and we loved sharing it for three of us. It was a good price for the whole pot. The space itself is really cool as well. The interior has cushioned spaces and would be an excellent place to read or study. The exterior where we sat is a great rooftop space with comfy benches and stools, and good sized tables to hold anything you've ordered. The absolute best part of the menu though are the homemade milkshakes. Do yourself a favor and get a green tea shake, with their green tea ice cream custom made by Chap's down the way. It is the perfect drink for a hot Charlottesville day, great to sip while strolling the mall. It might be my favorite sweet treat in the city. Make sure you stop by for one!

We came in on a whim and left with Chai! The service was kind and prompt, and the dining and sitting area was hipster cool. The room is not large but has a few seating areas a With funky couches and chairs. The Rooibos chai w ginger was great and I'd pop in again while walking and shopping at the mall.

The Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar is a place I sometimes forget is there, because it is tucked away upstairs off of the downtown mall. I really like the Iced Chai Latte in the summertime. There's a wide selection of teas to choose from, and it's a great place to chill out with friends. There's a back patio area and a lot of seating options inside. The staff is super friendly and if you have questions about their menu or teas, they are happy to help you out.

The Bazaar Salad or The Half Bazaar (1/2 portion) with hibiscus Iced Teas (of the day)

This place is so cozy! It's upstairs in one of the historic buildings in the downtown mall. You feel as though you've been transported out of Cville and into another country as the fragrant smells of the teas hot you upon arrival. I decided to sit outside on their patio (it's in the back!) so I could work (free wifi!) and enjoy lunch on a warm autumn day. They are very helpful if you aren't writ sure what type of tea to get. I felt dehydrated so they suggested a hibiscus tea (it was on special cold brewed that day) and I loved it! So refreshing and hydrating. I also ordered an autumn salad with sliced pears, candied pecans, sliced tomatoes, crumbled cheese, a homemade vinegarette and some slices of pita bread. I ate every bite and loved all of the flavors. Plus I felt amazing afterwards since it's a healthy lunch option to keep you going on your day!

This place is a dream From the decor to the friendly workers, I absolutely love this place! I am visiting from out of state, and this was my choice for lunch. Great relaxing vibes. The tea selection is very good and the staff are helpful in making suggestions. Will definitely come back next time I'm around!

A relaxing and wonderful staple of downtown Charlottesville. If you're looking for a place to kick off your shoes, listen to lofi music, and enjoy a hot cup of tea or fresh salad, then walk up the steps to Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar. This homey tea shop is exactly what you need when you are feeling stressed or relaxed. I guarantee you'll leave this place feeling better than when you first came here. Please try the Rose milkshake. It's one of my personal favorites. They sprinkle in rose petals with this one-of-a-kind drink and there's something about the unique taste that's comforting and authentic. There are multiple seating options. You can choose to sit on weaved, wooden chairs at glass tables. If that's not your style, sit at a couch with a coffee table in front of you. As for me? I relish the opportunity to take my shoes off and sit criss-cross on a pillow. The table in front of me is the perfect height for getting work done! If it's a nice day, they even have rooftop seating. The diversity in seating options alone is worth a look into this place. Lastly, they have many board games and activities for you to do with friends. I recommend bringing a date here if you're looking to meet up for coffee. It's the perfect blend of relaxed and fun with just the right amount of hippie flair thrown in. Twisted Branch Tea Bazaar is waiting for you. Go forth!

Awesome Falafel Salad vegan option, the dressing was delicious

Love the menu, it's mostly vegetarian and vegan. Fresh salads, soups, sandwiches lots of healthy options. I got the Falafel salad made vegan, basically without the feta and it was really good. I liked the ginger miso dressing a lot. Also splurged and got the vegan, GF spice cake and I'm still thinking about it! Delicious!!

The Chai tea milkshake was so good that I'll definitely be coming back. Not someone who smokes but some friends brought me here specifically for the the chai milkshake and it didn't disappoint. The place here is real cute, and another friend recommended studying here during the day and I can definitely see why. Super cozy atmosphere ! The milkshake itself was so tasty; just the right flavor and texture. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Liked the use of paper straws too~ Will say that it was a bit pricey for a milkshake but I've never seen a chai tea milkshake so it last worth the price. I haven't eaten anything here so I can't say about the food. But my friends have smoked here a few times and have enjoyed every experience.

This is a quirky hidden gem. The overall aesthetic is very earthy and the tea options were extensive. I had the Jin Xuan and the description for the tea was spot on. I loved the whole appeal for the tea joint...from the seating arrangements to the eccentric decor. The prices were reasonable and the staff were knowledgeable. Definitely a spot to try even if you're not an avid tea drinker.

We had cigars but bought more. The cigar collection was anemic, but we were not bothered by that because we came prepared. It filled up pretty quickly around 8 because a DJ showed up. So it went from a cool and chill place to CLUB RICHMOND pretty quickly. We enjoyed the best of both worlds...cigar bar by day/nightclub by night. The food was above average for bar food. The drinks were solid. The staff was cool but slammed by guests. And the patrons were very friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a week later. Only 2 waitresses were available for a crowd of people.I watched our waitress make the drinks, serve the drinks, change the hookah coals and serve food. Management needs to hire more staff asap.

The vibe: according to google the lounge opened at 10:00, but we were not let in until 10:35. Upon entry, you go downstairs and find a spot to sit. They have really cool murals of various figures on the wall and a cool neon sign. The music being played was good, but it was more of a club vibe than a hookah lounge. I came for the hookah, and the hookah girls were still getting ready. So we didn't get our hookah until 11:15 - and it was weak. The cost: It was $20 entrance free, plus $30 hookah, and $15 per drink. THIS IS NOT A HOOKAH LOUNGE, meaning the "hookah girls" come and sell you hookah, but there is nobody that changes the coals or addresses the poor hookah quality. The hookah's used are cheap $20 hookahs with disposable hoes. The hookah was weak. Granted, I've been to the Middle East and have had some awesome hookah to compare it to. You can find quality hookah in the states though (NYC, LA, PHX, Austin, etc), and it doesn't cost $30. I find that the quality of the hookah is really dependent on the hookah being used, the process of packing the tobacco, quality of tobacco, quality coals, and a quality hoes! With that being said, THIS IS NOT A HOOKAH LOUNGE. This is a club with good music, that happens to sell horrible hookah with gorgeous "hookah girls". I'd say that the place has potential, because the vibe is there. Invest in quality hookahs w/real hoes, train the hookah girls how to properly pack the hookah, figure out how to change the coals.
