So I had no idea this place existed until this was the location for an event that I was attending. There wasn't a single Yelp review to go on so I'm happy to be the first! I came here for an event. The event was 7-10:30 pm and DOM usually opens at 10 pm. To find this place, it is at the address 287 Park Ave but once you walk through the glass doors you are directed towards some curtains. To be honest, if there wasn't a line of people outside I wouldn't have known to find DOM. But I guess that's what makes it a speakeasy right? The bouncer was making everyone wait outside until the coat check line died down.For whatever reason they made everyone do mandatory coat check. Once you finish that, you make your way down the stairs. The space itself isn't that big but it's cute. Red lighting and a disco ball! The DJ was pretty good. There is a small room with some art if you want to find a spot with brighter lighting and to escape the main area. There is one main bar in the back. I'm not sure if that DJ was hired exclusively for the event or if he's a regular there. My only complaint would be that the floor level is not exactly level/even. There are some parts where it's 1 inch higher or there's a carpet somewhere. So pay attention to where you are walking - especially by the couches. read more

From the moment I walked in, the staff and management were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They created such a relaxed and enjoyable vibe, and the service throughout the night was solid. The atmosphere was on point--stylish but not pretentious, with great music and energy. What stood out most to me was the crowd. It was a very contemporary, like-minded group of people who felt easy to vibe with. At the front entrance you'll find a handful of bouncers that will find any way to take all the cash in your wallet whether it's a steep admission or mandatory coat check or something. Drinks are severely overpriced given how awful the establishment is - it feels like you're drinking in a basement cafeteria. Awful experience all around. Save yourself and go elsewhere. read more

This is the single scummiest and sketchiest establishment in all of NYC I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. The first time I tried to go in, it was a Wednesday night with my gf and a friend, the bouncer really aggressively and rudely yelled at us that we were using the wrong door, even though there was no sign or anything. He then told us that we weren't dressed darkly enough (we were dressed smart casual, with button downs) and that if we wanted to come inside it would be $200 minimum per person. On a WEDNESDAY!!!!!! We took our business elsewhere. That was a while back so I figured recently I'd give it another shot after having dinner in the area with my gf. This time we tried to get in, and the bouncer told us that he doesn't think they have space for us because there was a big party happening. There was a snow storm happening and we were far from home, and we really just wanted tasty cocktails and some music, so I ask, "Are you sure there's no way you can let us in?" He radios the manager who comes up and says, ok we'll let you in but it'll be $150 minimum and the lady can come in for free. I was about to leave, but my gf goes "we'll do it!". I rolled my eyes, but decided $75 pp may not be bad for high quality cocktails and live music. So we get in, they take our coats, and inside is a corporate holiday party. There is no live music, and worst of all, no cocktails. Only wine and beer. We felt ridiculously scammed. But it didn't end there. We spoke to some of the people at this party, and the company had booked the entire bar so we shouldn't have been let in. When people at this party realized they were letting randos like us into their holiday party they were really put off (rightfully so). Especially because they pulled this same scam with several other people that came in after us. But that's not all, when we had to leave the coat checker couldn't find my gf's peacoat, and so we had to leave without it due to our Uber, and a long line for the coat check. This happens. We understand. The issue is that she called and emailed DOM several times since then, inquiring about her coat and has been completely ignored. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS- If you value your time and safety DO NOT step foot in this establishment. We hosted a private event here, and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster thanks to the grimy, sneaky behavior of the owner and staff. First, the club owner begged us to throw out event here, promising a seamless and professional experience. Instead, they double-booked the night with another event and threw off our carefully planned evening into absolute chaos. Our itinerary? Destroyed. Our property? Damaged. Our VIP guests? Made to feel completely unsafe in an overcrowded, disorganized mess. When we tried to address the situation with the owner and his son, they were nowhere to be found- and worse, acted completely spaced out and clueless. It's clear this place is run by amateurs who have no respect for their clients or their events. The lack of professionalism, communication, and basic decency is astounding. If you're looking for a venue to host your event, steer clear of this circus. There are plenty of other spots that won't stab you in the back or ruin your night. If you need a spot, call me and Ill give you ten that matter. Take my advice: Nobody respectful or reputable should even consider stepping foot in this dumpster fire of a "club" They don't deserve your business. The minimum spend required to enter is ridiculously expensive given that they don't have cocktails, only beer and wine. They require coat check, but when I tried to get my coat back, they couldn't find it. Then they didn't answer any of my phone calls or emails to try and get it back the next day. The staff is rude and the time we went they allowed us in even though the whole place was booked up for a company holiday party. The people at this company seemed annoyed we were crashing, it was really unfair to them. Music wasn't that good. Overall had a very unpleasant time here. read more
