They don't do designs which was the one thing I was a little disappointed about but my nails came out amazing and the lady that did mine was so gentle. More than anything I am just sad because I thought I had finally, finally found my go-to nail place, and was prepared to spend $82 ( including tip) every 3 or 4 weeks for a pedi and dip manicure. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. I got my 3rd dip manicure 2 weeks ago. I could tell right away that my right middle finger was going to chip. Sure enough, 4 days later that finger and my left middle finger were both chipping. I called to let them know and they said to come in to have it fixed but I would have to be prepared to wait because they were busy. By Tuesday 4 of my nails were badly chipped. When I went in, Mike said too many nails were chipped and that I would have to pay for another dip manicure. Needless to say, I was shocked. He tried to say that it was because my nails were too thin and I questioned why this would be the case since it hadn't happened the first two times? Then he tried to tell me it was because I did too many things with my hands. No seriously, that's what he said! As if I had done anything differently than I ever did with my hands (like I was suddenly milking cows or getting into bar fights or ripping open boxes with my bare hands or something?) And remember, I could tell it was going to chip on the first day, so this is absolutely bogus. So just to be clear, a $42 manicure lasted only 4 DAYS. Finally he offered to remove the dip manicure and give me a regular manicure instead. I wasn't happy about it but I agreed because I didn't want to ruin an otherwise nice day, and I had already made up my mind not to return. The job was assigned to the one tech who always seems super miserable (the others have always been very sweet, but this one is never pleasant). I requested a matte polish but she said it would be $5 extra- LOL! Remember this regular manicure was supposed to make up for my $42 dip manicure that didn't even last four days, and they couldn't throw me a bone and give me the matte polish? How ridiculously cheap can you be?? I know Mike overheard this part of the conversation and didn't speak up to say, "Yes, give her the matte polish," so there was pretty much zero attempt to make the situation right for me. I don't think I can roll my eyes hard enough here.... Long story short, she did very thick coats and she didn't even paint the free edge. I sat under the dryer for a full half hour, but thanks to the thick coats, once it was finally dry (more than an hour later) it was full of bubbles and smudges. So she obviously didn't use a quick dry top coat either. The worst part is that against my better judgment I threw her a $5 tip. So all in, $48 for 4 days of manicure! And I can't even express how ridiculously bad my nails look right now. I cannot and will not patronize businesses that don't stand behind their work. If anyone has recommendations for nail salons in the area please let me know! Still looking for a go-to place. I will post a picture of my nails later. Seriously, it's awful and I can't wait to get home and remove it. read more

Well... I will have to say that Dolphin Spa is the best place that I've gotten powder dip nails done at before! I'm fairly new to it (the last year or so), and I was going back and forth between that and gel because the other places I got them done at weren't super impressive. I was TOLD that powder dip would last much longer without any chips and such, but this was NOT TRUE! Multiple places I got it done at would only last me about 2 weeks, but then I found Dolphin Spa! I was extremely happy with my nails which still looked amazing after 3 weeks! The only reason I got them done again today (3 weeks + 2 days) is because one finally popped off in the middle finger, haha. having OCD.. I couldn't go on (otherwise I could have easily kept mine into week 4). The place is nothing fancy if you're looking for atmosphere or little pampering perks. It's pretty standard salon with good pricing. I think I got a regular pedicure (which they gave some paraffin thing to loosen up the dry heel in the back, which was nice) and powder dipped nails for about $70. I ended up coming back to California for the holidays and got my power done here today, and will say.. meh. I'm definitely coming back to Dolphin. read more

I booked my Saturday morning appointment just a couple days ahead of time by phone. I got a gel mani and regular pedi. The owner Jojo did my nails and she is just extraordinary! My nails were a work of art. This was my first time getting a gel manicure and I felt like a princess. I never felt rushed. Jojo does quality work and the results showed. They lasted a month and I got so many compliments on my nails! Like so many other reviews here mention they do use a new set of tools for each customer as well as a liner in the tub for pedis. I appreciate this level of hygiene and it was definitely a selling point for me! Also, the prices are super reasonable. I highly recommend!! Came here with my mom and loved the work she was especially happy we left an average tip $5 per person that assisted us. We attempted to make an appt for 2 weeks out (we get our nails done regularly) and was told that was so far out they only schedule appts one week in advance. We called one week in advance and tried to get another appointment but couldn't for the day we wanted. My mom stopped by and made the appt for the following week. At this appointment we were forced to leave a tip My mom paid (shes much nicer than I am) but it left a sour taste in my mouth. We attempted again for another appt one week out as suggested but was told it was too soon. They need a better scheduling system what they have in place sucks, they should just take walk-ins. Lastly, Jojo while her work is good. She talks entirely too much, yapping with other customers, showing photos of her son is annoying when work should be getting done. IF a break is needed take it, but I should not have to wait for you to finish chatting for my service to begin. Its a spa and should be tranquil I don't want to hear anything relating to your personal life. It's unprofessional. Jojo's level of unprofessionalism is displayed on her google responses...just take a look. She doesn't take responsibility everything is the customers fault. Yesterday was my first time at Dolphin Spa as I had just moved to the neighborhood. I had a poorly done gel French manicure from another nail salon and was looking for a good nail salon to redo them. The appointment with JoJo was easy to book, and they were very helpful in terms of trying to understand over the phone the type of gel manicure I had previously (they don't do acrylic and can't remove acrylic). JoJo was meticulous in ensuring that my cuticles were trimmed, and also did a beautiful job with my gel French manicure. The white tip was applied evenly and what I appreciated most, was that she took the time to do it right - by removing dead skin under my nails, buffing them evening and re-doing one nail when she felt it wasn't perfect. Even then, it didn't take long for her to complete the job. I really like her professionalism and that she takes pride in doing it well. She is also very friendly in a no nonsense kind of way so our conversation flowed naturally. I also liked that she and her whole team work well together, so the place has a great vibe overall. This is the third salon I've tried for a SNS manicure and it has by far been the best. They take their time to make sure they take the nails off correctly and make them how you want them. Went out of my way to come here because the reviews were SO good. What a letdown. Had last minute travel come up so I tested my luck to see if I could get in without an appointment. Got there mid morning on a weekday & place wasn't packed. It was recommended that I book ahead next time, but main point: **I was taken as a walk in** I was really curious about NextGen, which is why I came here. Asked for it, my service started & I was transferred to someone else halfway thru the process. ***Pro tip: don't take a walk in if you can't ACTUALLY take a walk in. Our dollars are all the same, and we're ALL capable of writing reviews*** The woman who resumed, and finished, my manicure could not have cared less about my satisfaction with it. After 6 dips I'm visually concerned about the ridiculous thickness my nails have gained, and I ask--are they supposed to be this thick? Instead of giving a damn about my satisfaction with this $45+tip service, I'm briskly brushed off, and told that "this is thicker than gel". That's it. No offer to fix, file down, make right. She didn't care. At all. Within days I HAD to file the monstrosity on my fingers down & paint over. It looked awful. A week later (this *should* last 2-3wks) I'm getting it professionally removed. It was too thick & ill/applied to keep on. I've since had a fantastic nextgen manicure & now know what to expect with great results (sorry it's not in BK or NYC). Jojo and her husband Mike are both attentive and friendly. I felt comfortable and relaxed during the process and the results are stunning! I am usually very indecisive but Jojo gives very professional suggestions on color and style choices so I don't need to stress. The staff really takes the time to make sure every detail is perfect for you and you are happy with the results. My gel nails and normal pedicure also lasted quite a long time. They still looked brand new after more than 3 weeks. The space is clean and neat. I haven't had a manicure or pedicure since February. So I went online to find a sanitary salon in the neighborhood. Based on another customer's review on the sanitizing practices of this salon, I decided to call and make an appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by Amy. Before I sat down, the chair was wiped down with sanitizer and each pedicure station had thick clear plastic sheets separating each of the pedicure stations which I truly appreciated. I currently have a fractured foot and am wearing a boot. Amy gave me a very nice pedicure. She was understanding about my limitations for not being able to flex my foot. She was very gentle. Next was time for my pedicure. I decided to try the powder gel manicure. Again the station was wiped down and clear sheets were separating the manicure stations. There was also a plexiglass between me and my nail tech with just an opening for me to put my hands through to have my nails done. Mike the owner who is so nice and pleasant to talk to gave me my manicure. Mike had to work around my fractured wrist in a brace and he was gentle and didn't hurt my hand. My nails look amazingly beautiful! I was so happy about my whole experience at Dolphin Spa, that I would highly recommend them to all my friends! Thank you Amy and Mike for a wonderful experience! I came here for the first time a week ago and have to say, my mani-pedi (regular, not gels) is still holding up pretty well. They were able to squeeze me in for a same-day Saturday afternoon appointment - to my surprise, given how popular this place is! I picked out an Essie polish from a decent selection that also included Zoya for non-gels. My technician did a great job with my nails, and my hands & feet felt totally rejuvenated afterwards. It's hard to find nail services this cheap in the neighborhood - I paid around $30 for my mani-pedi not including tip. Believe they are cash only/cash preferred.
