The Oriental Carpet - Rug

Needed to move all the rugs off my mom's floors before she came home from rehab in a walker. When I…read morevacuumed both sides of one rug and then tried to roll it up, and more dirt fell through the weave onto the floor, I knew having someone pick them up for cleaning was the best option. The Oriental Carpet responded promptly to my message in their contact form and gave me a decent idea of the cost to clean two 9 x 6 rugs. They sent someone to give me a firm quote and pick up the rugs. They showed up right on time and explained the options clearly, and the price was reasonable for a thorough cleaning, given my mom has not had them cleaned for 20 years. The rugs were returned in great shape, the colors on both looked more vibrant, and the workers were very nice about positioning the rugs where I wanted them. And again, they showed up right when they said they would. I was very pleased with the work and service from The Oriental Carpet. They were friendly and professional. I will certainly contact them when I need any more rugs cleaned.

I had selected a couple of rugs in their store & they brought the rugs to my home and set them out so that I could determine which rug was the perfect fit. The team provided a rug mat, moved furniture and found the correct position for the rug. I shopped at about four other rug stores in Menlo Park and Palo Alto and no one came near this level of service. In addition, there's no way an online rug store could provide any of this excellent customer service. The Oriental Carpet is the only store for superb customer service and stunning rugs!

Brandy answered the phone on a Friday afternoon and was clearly busy with a customer. But when she called back she was friendly and to the point. A few days later Luis was at my place of business. He clearly knew about flooring and easily told me the material of my old floor and what had to be done to put in new vinyl flooring. It was that easy. In fact, the entire process was like that, from start to finish to after-install followups. Working with Brandy to choose my flooring materials and schedule the install was easy. She is extremely helpful and communicative, always to the point about availability of materials and lead times. In the end I got great new floors that I love and that my clients comment on again and again. And when I found some details that needed to be fixed, they sent their guys quickly with no questions asked. That's why I went with a professional flooring company. They are not a chain, they're a personal shop that gives professional, friendly, high quality service. I'm happy I chose them!

They were competitive with price and didn't lack with the work. They were able to hammer all this out in 2 days. They took care of the removal as well! They really made it an easy process. I would use them again in the future for any flooring needs I have. Thank you guys!

Our contractor did their job with picking up the RIGHT BOXES, inspecting that the material is not broken and is in good shape, and installed the material given to them. It turned out that the color of the floor is clearly wrong/mixed up. When we reached out to Tiffany, she kept blaming our contractors for not inspecting prior to installing, and claimed that it's our contractors' liability for installing faulty floors. BUT THESE ARE THE FLOORS THAT YOU SELL TO US. Would definitely not recommend this store to anyone for the quality of the material that they are selling.

We had Andy (same family runs the store) do the installation. Again 8 years ago. So you can get an idea of the durability of the job. The installation was done mostly well and has held up all this time. I had also got quotes from Slater Floors and one more place I don't remember. Andy from Perfect Flooring was the lowest bid and the only one who said they would move the washer and dryer out to put flooring underneath and put it back. The others said that either we had to move them out or they would put hardwood around it. Now the (small) issues. When Andy came to give a quote, he said that the concrete floor (covered by carpet) looked level. During the job, after they removed the carpet, the crew saw that the floor was not level. Andy told the crew to stop the work until after I paid additional $2500 to level the floor. That's ok because it is additional work, but what happened to his professional opinion that the floor looked level when he gave the bid. In some places the planks have small gaps between them. I emailed Andy during the job. Without responding to that, he sent an email reminding me that payment is due! After more complaints, he had the crew fix some of it (it was already glued together). Maybe this was a problem with the product (tongue and groove not fitting well), but I did not buy cheap floors from them. For the edging, the crew put glue and left it. No weight to hold it down. They are not perfectly flat. So they popped out without bonding in a few days. They had to come back and nail it. A few years later a few more glued edging pieces popped off. They can be nailed like the others. So not a major problem. Once during the job when I came to check, I noticed the crew smoking inside the garage while working. Besides these small issues, the floor has held up well. No buckling or issues like that. So 4 stars for the installation.
