This is a small business. It's not flashy or slick. Still, it would be good to have the following in place: - Have an invoice ready when you collect a rug for cleaning. It can be paper or soft copy that is emailed/texted. An invoice gives the customer proof you took the rug and you agreed on a price. I had to chase the proprietor for an invoice. - Take your own photos and measurements of the rug before it leaves your home. My rug was cleaned (I hope) and came back wrinkled and misshapen. Of course the proprietor now says it was like that beforehand. - I had to text the proprietor to remind him to return my rug. Of course he has outsourced the cleaning to someone else. - Rug was delivered to my home by delivery staff who could not manage any of the problems with my "cleaned" rug. They just wanted to drop it and go. Delivery is "free" but of course it is rolled into the overall price. As the proprietor told me, "Nothing is free!" - Proprietor offered to take my rug back and fix the wrinkles and shape for free, but to be honest I was not sure if the rug would come back even worse. So I declined. - This cleaning service is one of the cheaper ones, but if I had the chance I would have paid more for peace of mind and smoother business practices. Proprietor is a smooth talker. We've had four sets of rugs over the years from Javeed at The Rug Center.The last set we bought (in trade) we decided on after he delivered "a 10X14 loner rug" that we fell in love with--a 1970 Persian rug "with a story to tell", a rug that had just been cleaned and looks new. We then spotted a one-of-a-kind Russian 7X10 all-silk rug among his 6X9 rugs and fell in love with it immediately. It was expensive but we were just able to afford it with our trade-in rug. Our condo has been transformed into a "no shoes" dwelling but it is SO gorgeous, we forget about having to take our shoes off! Javeed's staff are tireless, friendly workers who work hard to satisfy their customers. Hats off to Sylvio and Manuel! Javeed;s son is also very gracious and hard-working. We would recommend The Rug Center to anyone with discriminating taste who wants to enhance their home with lovely Persian rugs! read more

Sorry to say this but we had a horrible experience in our first business with this store. Stay away if you want sanity and professional customer service! At the bottom of the receipt, it states that "if for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with our service, please let us know". Well, that's exactly what we did but the owner did not want to hear anything but praise for the sub-par hand wash. Got agitated and ranted words you do not expect to hear from a professional merchant in the middle of the Valley ["filthy carpet" and "do not come back to this store"]! The problem: we took in a fine Persian carpet for a hand wash. It came back discolored and weakened in some areas but apparently that should have been expected according to the owner. We could agree to disagree but that was not enough for him. Please take your business elsewhere that deserves it! Certainly not going back and will not be recommending. read more

Amazing place. We bought 3 rugs: 2 modern ones for the family room and a classic one for the living room. The rugs we had in mind (which they also had in their show room) ended up not being the right choice at all. They brought to our home a selection of rugs and gave us very good advices. After several years of doing business with The Rug Center, I have elected to do my rug business elsewhere. I've purchased 4 rugs from them, three of them hand knotted silk rugs; have had them washed and had one repaired. The work was always good. HOWEVER, customer service leaves much to be desired. A continual battle is getting them to return calls, pick up large area rug for cleaning - for two weeks they say they'll have their man pick up my rug and he still hasn't shown up. I'm done! I found a better place for cleaning service in future. A customer who has spent several thousand dollars at this business deserves better. read more

I just bought my 2nd rug from this place. The store is amazing. It's not much to look at from the outside, but there are so many rugs inside. The owner And his staff are so easy to work , very patient about showing you as many rugs as you wanna see. We spent about two hours here looking through rug catalogs and picked out two we liked. They didn't have anything similar in feel in stock, so they told us they would order a sample. Sounded good to us! They said they would call in a week when the samples were in. We never heard from them again. read more

While the initial service was good... the follow up has been beyond disappointing. If getting a cash refund was an option, I would have already asked for my money back. Everytime I talk to the owner (I believe he is) and we have an agreement about something... he forgets about it. Will definitely be moving on to other locations. read more
