Daredevil Falls was our very first ride at Dollywood.
Tucked away in a corner on an incline, we made our way to the log boat immediately, without waiting. Not a single person was in line nor were there any guests on the ride. We were completely alone on the journey and honestly, it made for a great first impression!
As we floated along and enjoyed the natural mountainous views alongside some artificial decor to create a logging camp atmosphere, we immersed ourselves into the Dollywood theme. It was strange that there was no music as most rides have some sort of sound, but I enjoyed the quiet as the waters rushed around us. After all, if we were on a real rushing river, there would be no music whatsoever.
The ride ends with a 60 foot drop, taller than both Splash Mountain's (Tiana's Bayou Adventure) drops at the North American Disney theme parks, though, smaller than Jurassic Park's (Jurassic World) drops at both North American Universal parks.
We were brought back to the entrance/exit and not a single person was in line to take our flume. The employees asked us if we wanted to go again and we eagerly said "yes!" We opted out the third time we were asked, but were grateful they did.
Daredevil Falls, a solid 8/10. It's a fun water ride! read more
