Ok here it goes. I walked in here thinking it was a bar. Now I laugh cuz it definitely isnt. Its a dinner that serves alcohol. It is small [limited seating]. The server/host was awesome. I told him I have a tomatoe allergy and he was very attentive to it. I ordered the salad. Made sure there was none. I ordered the soup of the day and he informed me of tomatoe being used in it. I told him it's raw tomatoes that im allergic to. The soup was cooked which neutralizes the acid. This experience has been amazing. I mean drink salad and soup was less the 25.00. Great little place for a quick bite to eat in Fargo. We had breakfast, and I enjoyed the light breakfast. It's one egg with a choice between bacon and sausage. You get to slices of toast and can choose what kind of bread. I chose to have an egg over medium, crispy bacon, and sourdough toast. It hit the spot. My husband had the country skillet, which was eggs, hash browns, ham, sausage and gravy. It also came with toast. This place is located in a gas station, but that seems to be common in this part of the country. It still had its own separate secluded dining area and entrance. Food is good. Always tasty. However, service is awful. Very grouchy waitresses who will ignore you. I usually get carry out and they will see me waiting at the counter and continue to wait on other customers coming in after me then loading the dishwasher and other things. I stood at the counter waiting just to pay for my food for 15 min before the grouchy waitress acknowledged me. They make you feel like you're bothering them for being there. Also for some reason (maybe don't like to be bothered) they NEVER answer the phone and even when it's not busy. read more

Good beer and good tasting food however and this is a big one , been here twice got sick twice . Not terribly ill but I was stuck in the bathroom at about 2 AM both times. Not really a whole lot of fun when you need to make a delivery in a couple hours after that. I was very happy with this place. The breakfast menu is very short, but you can pretty much order what you want any way you want. The price is great. This is one of the few times that I actually had to take some food to go with me. The portions are truck stop size. They served Rejuv Juice which was really excellent. I hadn't had it before, but it's quite good. They have a lot of TV's in this place, with one wall having 3 in a row and another having 5 in a row. The biscuits and gravy were very good, which is high praise since almost every restaurant around here serves the same thing. read more

Dolly down grill is located inside the truck stop plaza just off the interstate in Fargo. It's a smaller restaurant and looks to be remodeled. Small menu featuring mom and pop style food. I was here for breakfast. I had biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash browns along with coffee. There was probably six other patrons having breakfast as well. There was one waitress taking orders and bringing out the food along with other chores. Not very personable and I had ordered coffee but she brought me water and forget the coffee. The food came out at a decent pace. The biscuits and gravy were good as were the hash browns and eggs. They feature several steak and egg dishes and I may choose that next time. It's a quite little place, not terribly busy. They have many televisions and they do offer beer. If you are road weary and need a break stop in here to refresh. The truck stop has showers, fuel, several other fast food restaurants along with other amenities. read more

My home terminal an corporate office is out of here an personally Fargo reminds me of how my farm town used to be. That being said I LOVE this place. Truck Stop. Although there's nothing inherently wrong with that, it should be made clear that this is a truckstop restaurant. As for five stars?... you've got to be kidding me. Yes the breakfast menu is very short, but at least it's very expensive! Sure, the portions maybe large, but $12 for a few eggs and bacon is ridiculous. IHOP is basically across the street, so is McDonald's. Get your McBreakfast on and skip the truckstop, unless your RV/F450 with a 5th wheel needs a fill up. read more

This small little bar and grill is a quaint little place. Food proportions are rather exquisitely large. I order biskets with sausage gravy a side of coffee and water. I ened up taking home over half of my breakfast. The plate was filled with Biskets and smothered in gravy just the way I like it. Their menu is small and simple just the way it should be simple two side menu. They also listed food items be hind the bare on a chalk bored which to me gives it a homey feel. Our bill for two was was no more then about $23.00 with tip and that was with two tomato juices, coffee, two orders of biskets with sausage gravy, and 3 eggs. If you get a chance I'd check it out. Hello today I came to eat breakfast at the restaurant here in FARGO I waited 3 hours for it to open, it opened at 6am so I went in and saw Riley the server she was talking to the other guest at the counter when he asked her for her age she replied 17y but like a dummy I asked her didnt you say a few months ago you were 18y then she denied it and said no she is 17y then with a snobby attitude asked me if I was going to hit on her too, I was shocked at how rude she was to me. I thought to myself what did i do to deserve such attitude. Then she asked me my order then i ordered. Then she walked in the back to notify the cook of my order I suppose, then suddenly the cook comes out to me and shaking her fist at me tells me with an extremely angry tone to knock it off, I was appalled at the bullshit treatment I was receiving from these two people. So I asked both of them what is it that I am doing wrong? But neither one could confirm what I had done wrong, so instead of informing me the answer to my question she then said if I ask Riley her age again she will have me thrown out. . So to not cause any problems I left silently and professional and I will not ever be returning ever again....... the manager cody is SUPER awesome but his staff are the worst at customer relations......if anyone is wondering what kind of place this is try to avoid breakfast time for sure......WOW I CANT BELIEVE THE DISRESPECT I RECEIVED FOR ORDERING 2 EGGS AND HAMBURGER read more

Authentic hometown cooking with a simple menu and huge portion sizes. Enjoyed our stop for brunch around noon on a Sunday with chicken fried steak and the all American breakfast. Great service. What another poster here doesn't realize is that our best breakfast in Fargo for moderate prices IS in a truckstop. Their steak melts in your mouth and for less than what you'd pay at a steakhouse you get a well seasoned ribeye or a cooked to order melt in your mouth sirloin with eggs perfectly seasoned, not greasy, and served with perfectly seasoned hashbrowns. This is not a greasy spoon and I do not comprehend why he thinks that because this comfortable upbeat modernly furnished restaurant should be comparable to a Fast Food chain. Like really? If you can't tell the difference between great service and a McDonald's drive-thru, then perhaps he should have gone to Tim Horton's which is right behind the restaurant or to Popeye's or to Charlie's CheeseSteaks also located in this particular Truck Stop. Personally, he ought to keep his day job and leave the laughs for a comedian because having a lack of taste buds and having no appreciation for wonderful food and service due to location is not as funny as he thinks it is. Still shaking my head...unlike OP, I've eaten at all three restaurants he named, along with every other breakfast restaurant in the Fargo area, including the one I paid $27 a plate for the breakfast buffet. The dishes were excellently prepared, my steak tips were tender, juicy, an had a wonderful flavor. My husband also said he was very happy with his steak, he had a rib eye.
