Horrible experience! Short version -- I booked a Dolly to move two chairs and several other items that were going to be used at my daughter's upcoming wedding-- the furniture was their wedding present. When the "helper" arrived at the drop-off location only one chair was in the back of his truck. He claimed he never picked up two chairs, but we have video surveillance​ from the house with both chairs being loaded. It took me days to get someone to respond. I assumed it must have fallen out of the back of his truck (the other scenarios are even sadder). I had all the documentation in terms of how much I spent on one chair and filed a claim. The offered to refund my Dolly charge and $188 for the chair. So disappointed in how they responded and handled the situation. I'm just sorry I didn't go on Yelp to read the reviews because​ I'm not the only one to have a HORRIBLE experience. Warning don't use Dolly! read more

We had a great experience. Was able to book last minute after realizing that moving a mattress set and 6x9 rug was beyond my car capacity or my husband's patience tolerance. Used the service to move my college age son's big items home for the summer. Debated about selling the mattress set vs renting a u haul, potential doctor bills for the likely pulled muscles or injured back and then a friend recommended Dolly. The app was relatively easy to use. Price competitive to our other options and likely far better than an actual moving company plus it offered the much appreciated service of a strong helper and inside service. I would definitely use again not only for moving but for other projects that require strength and movement of bulky items within my home or out of my home. In addition communication from Dolly and the actual service provider were timely and pro active. Our mover was very nice, very calm (a highly desirable skill during a move) and flexible with an add on that we made on site. We had a great experience. Thanks! read more

My Seattle experience with Dolly was wonderful! Oumar arrived early with a super clean Chevy truck to load my wall unit for a delivery 20 minutes away. He was kind, helpful, considerate, and careful, of what he said, was a "very nice quality piece of furniture". It was, and nice to know that he recognized that. Can't say enough about him! I will use Dolly again, and would like to request him as a helper in the future, but I don't see that as an option on the Dolly site. Whoever answers the Dolly call out first, gets the job, so I'm sure that everyone has different experiences, but the Dolly concept is a good one, if you take care to explain your moving requests, (e.g., exact dimensions of your pieces, stairs/no stairs, distance from A to B, etc.). This is important, because the helper will read all this Before accepting a job. I can imagine that they Don't want to be surprised or mislead with other add ons, or misinformation, once arriving for the job. read more

Both of my helpers so far already have jobs that involve moving so they came prepared and with the knowledge of how the best way to move my items to each location. I'd purchasd a piece of furniture on a resale sight and had no use of a vehicle ...Keith met me at the pickup location TOTALLY prepared for the weather ! What a great idea! It's like Uber for your stuff! We had a Craislist purchase that was going to require renting a trailer, borrowing a truck, getting help from friends, putting gas in the friend's truck and buying lunch for said friends. Instead, with the touch of a few fingers, we had Zack. It cost us LESS than it would have if we did it ourselves! And, of course, no broken backs or fingernails (well, at least for us--lol!) I happened to receive a mailer with a discount code right as I was planning a major move. I hired Dolly to move several boxes and furniture into storage. Garrett and Javonte were so accommodating, friendly and efficient. Very reasonably priced and impressed with the care and quality they took in moving and loading/unloading furniture. I was very happy about the app until I found out that they are using illegal movers with no license and insurance. I had a couch to move and yet, my building requested a certificate of insurance which they couldn't provide. I am more about supporting hard working businesses who play by the rules, even if it means a higher bill for me. There are plenty of legal movers with a very reasonable prices. read more

I would give this service negative stars if it were possible. First, I ordered Dolly service around 11AM, and specifically stated that the equipment (which was a home gym set) needed to be broken down and reassembled. Upon arrival, the guys did not even have tools to disassemble the equipment. It took the guys over 2 hours to disassemble the gym. Then, when it was time to deliver the equipment, another person from Dolly arrived around 4:30PM and stated that they are not supposed to disassemble and reassemble equipment. After a little back and forth with Dolly support, they finally agreed to deliver the equipment to my house but not reassemble it. When they delivered the equipment, they tracked mud, dirt, and leaves all throughout my basement with no consideration of putting down any plastic, paper, etc. to avoid dirtying my floors. Furthermore, 2 out of the 3 guys that were sent for the job were extremely rude. Finally, I checked my credit card statement, and they charged my account 3 separate times for 3 different amounts. I am now on the phone with customer service and have been on hold for 15 minutes. This service is apparently new in the Atlanta market, but this is no excuse for rjudeness, being inconsiderate of client's homes, and horrible organization. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! read more

Both mover and assistant were very friendly and professional. I would use again. Only thing is be very specific and know exactly what you want moved. Anything that they require insurance for (like a TV), try to move yourself. That's where they really get you. A TV in the box that weighed about 10 lbs, was an extra $75! Keep it simple, and this is a very good way to go. My move was a bed, dresser and about 10 med boxes. I moved from a 3rd floor walk-up to the 3rd floor of an apt bldg with no elevators at either location. My total cost was $196 (excluding tip). Very good price, in my opinion. read more

My wife and I bought new living room furniture. As a result, we have to remove 1 large couch, 1 stuffed chair, and 1 stuffed rocker/recliner. We could have sold them but there is just not enough time. Decided to donate the furniture to Goodwill, whose Donation Center is about 5 miles away. Researched and found Dolly. The process to book a Dolly was simple enough. The price seemed good too. I did so and got an e-mail confirming the appointment. The appointment was 4 days away. A day-and-a-half following the booking, I heard nothing further. No phone call, no e-mail, nothing. It was critical to get this old furniture out of the way since there would be no room for the new furniture. Tried my best, but absolutely no telephone number to call. I did send an urgent e-mail to their "support" e-mail address. Another day passed and no response. So, I cancelled online and that cancellation crashed my browser! I did log back in and see it was cancelled as it also showed in the app. I booked with another company. Bottom line: I would never use Dolly again, especially when the appointment day and time are urgent. read more

To get a quote, you have to load an app, set up an account, hit OK so they can "track" your location even when you're not using the app. Ridiculous. I go through all this then... They say they can't move a church bench & TINY spinet piano down 7 stairs. Some great "movers" there. I wanted to get a quote before I got a groupon since 1 review said to be careful of their pricing. Glad I went through all that before I got the Groupon. I would say stay away if they can't move a 6 ft bench and 4 ft piano. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Dolly. I reserved a Dolly helper about 6 weeks prior to my move date, and then he cancelled 2 days beforehand. In a panic, I called Dolly to complain about it; they were really excellent about it -- helped me re-list the way that I wanted and to make sure I got a box truck instead of a pick-up (it was going to rain HARD on our move date), were very apologetic and promised to follow up with the new helper to ensure they were really committed and wouldn't cancel on me again (they did follow up, and then confirmed with me). The helper I got (and his assistant) were both incredibly friendly, 10 minutes early, and holy cow - FAST. They took great care with our items, and yet were able to move 5 large items from two different locations (one had 3 sets of stairs) to our new place in a little over an hour. VERY worth it, compared with how expensive professional movers are. I saw some folks posting photos of light-colored items getting dirty... well.... they aren't professional movers. I was fairly diligent about asking my helpers if I should get mattress bags, furniture blankets and wrap, and ended up getting all of that from a Uhaul store ahead of time... which was helpful. read more

Do NOT use Dolly to move fragile or precious items -- there is NO COVERAGE FOR DAMAGED ITEMS if you hire hourly labor, and the movers are careless. This was my first time using Dolly, and I only needed four heavy items moved with only a couple days notice, so it seemed like the sensible option. I already had a truck that I was loading myself, so I hired two helpers for an hour. I ended up with thousands of dollars worth of loss that Dolly will not cover as well as days of stress. The movers carelessly dropped my saltwater reef tank (which was not very big, only 30g), which I had to replace as soon as possible to keep my fish and coral alive. The tank was high quality and unique and not something that could be found in a local pet store (and the equipment/stand would not fit any of the aquariums readily available), so I was faced with buying a whole new set-up for thousands of dollars, finding a temporary solution until I could reorder my original tank, or going with some cheaper option. I ended up buying a whole different set-up used on Craigslist as the cheapest and fastest solution, but it is not what I would want otherwise. I spent my entire weekend calling Dolly to try to get coverage for the loss, local fish stores and Craigslist listings. Customer support was insulting, saying that the damage to my tank raised a "red flag," as if my tank were previously broken -- which does not make any sense considering the movers literally dropped it and filed a damage claim themselves, and the very lives of my fish/coral/inverts were on the line! I could see using Dolly for items going to the curb, but I would NEVER use Dolly for fragile or precious items. I learned that lesson the hard way, and seriously regret booking them. read more

I ordered my first and likely last Dolly last week. The drivers picked up a dresser for me and delivered it to my new condo. They arrived quicker than I did due to traffic. My sister and our moving company let the Dolly guys in (without my knowledge or permission) so by the time I pulled up they had already delivered the dresser to my bedroom. I was expecting them to be waiting for me. They met me on the sidewalk and had me sign off on the delivery, without ever asking me to inspect the work or notifying me of any issues. When I went upstairs, I noticed that both legs on the right side of my brand new dresser were broken off. Very disappointing. read more

Guys tried really hard. I am appreciative for their efforts. They were friendly and accommodating to a point. I asked if I could get the couch that I purchased to be put on a wall where there was a cabinet and have the cabinet moved to the other wall. They were not willing to go that extra bit. Also, a piece of Molding got ruined on the second landing and it is going to now cost me additional money to repair the damage. I feel that this a very costly service. I would have otherwise purchased from a furniture store and paid the equivalent or less and had more furniture delivered for the money (or less) but I was in a hurry for this functional piece of furniture, therefore bought it at Costco and needed it delivered. read more

First time using Dolly- will definitely use again. App was easy to use. No issue scheduling. There was terrible traffic ( I also got caught in it) and my 'helper' kept me posted as to his time of arrival. I needed a large storage box picked up from Home Depot and delivered to my 3rd floor walk up deck. Home Depot's delivery charge was going to be $20 more and only curbside. I scheduled a move for my office three weeks ago via Dolly. The office I'm moving to requires a more official certificate of insurance than Dolly is able to provide so I jumped through hoops to hire additional (more legitimate) movers to meet the Dolly movers just for the heavy lifting portion. After I arranged all of this, two separate Dolly's cancelled with no explanation. I would just get a text from the company that the mover is no longer available. I spoke with a manager, they resisted the Dolly and it seemed like finally things would work out but tonight I got the same cancellation text at 7pm - the night before the scheduled move. I would expect that with a last minute cancellation they would jump through hoops on my behalf to find another mover. Not wait to see if someone might bid for the work. On top of that be day and time are in the system incorrectly now and I'm not able to change it. I spoke with someone at customer service and he also did not know how to change it and was really unhelpful. I will never trust this company again and hope to save someone a whole lot of unnecessary stress. read more

I am EXTREMELY frustrated with this process. I heard good things about this service, so I decided to buy the Groupon, however, I've been trying to set up a tv stand to be picked up for the past two days. I figured I could set this up using my desktop computer, but when you go on the website it is doesnt really give much information other than to download the app on your phone. I am not very experienced with smartphones and I also dont see well, so Im unable to do many things like this on a phone. They dont have a live customer service person, so Im unable to even call and ask any questions. My only option is to leave a message and wait for a call back however, they dont mention any time frame for a callback, so I have no idea If Im going to receive a call back today, or while Im at work. I will try to use this Groupon but I dont think I will be using them again in the future. read more

This was an amazing experience! Found a great bargain on Craigslist last night. Looked for a mover when I learned that it was too heavy for novices. The mover that has a billion ads on Craigslist was a no-call, no-show this morning at 9am. Within 15 minutes, Albert confirmed that he was available to pick up the desk and hutch from its third floor location. He was timely and managed a very difficult move with good humor and most importantly, no damage. Don't bother with anyone else. These are the only people to use! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Dolly notified me an hour and 20 mins b/f my appointment that My helper wasn't showing up.. Lots of work on my end to take apart the furniture to be moved and lots of work on the end where the furniture was going to be delivered. All this work now needs to be undone and then redone at a later date. We are looking into hiring professional movers instead . The app itself is easy to use and if (IF!) you get a reliable helper then it's a great idea. But you're dealing with people for whom this is not a profession and it definitely shows!! read more

I just used Dolly for the first time and it will also be my last time. I gave the experience 3 stars because the guys who came were fine . But I felt like they were the Spirit Airlines of the moving industry. Every time I blinked they added another 15 dollars! Can't get it out the door easily? 15 dollars to take off the legs (2 legs not 4 on one side of a sectional not both). Got one part of the sectional out the door but couldn't get the second part out - 15 dollars to take off the door . 15 dollars to move up 3 stairs even though they took one part out the garage door without any stairs. At some point I literally couldn't keep up. My 104 dollar job was 185 dollars! And then I got an email asking for a tip. I felt nickeled and dimed . Next time I'll use the mover who I should have used in the first place who tells me the charge up front and then moves my furniture for the price he quoted. I didn't use him this time because Dolly's price was lower. They don't say on the web site that they're going to charge you for hello and good-bye. read more

I requested a "King Size Bed Frame" to be picked up and was quoted $92 dollars which was perfectly fine. The driver contacted me a little afterwards saying that he was in route to pick up my item. Upon arriving, he sent several messages stating that I needed to accept the adjustment fee of $60 because it was listed "incorrectly". He stated that "A bed frame only consisted of a metal foldable frame that goes under the box spring." and that I had "A complete platform bed with headboard, footboard and side rails with crossbars." He then said that he was going to double check with customer support (which I'm sure he didn't) and that he's pretty sure that it was incorrect and that I needed to pay the additional $60 before loading the items on the truck. I then went into the app to see what a platform bed consisted of and the items that were listed I DID NOT HAVE including a mattress!!! I accepted the adjustment anyways (because I was tired of explaining that the additional 60$ was incorrect) and decided that I would ask about the additional fee's in person. He arrived with his partner & when asked about the additional fee's he stumbled around his words started stuttering and couldn't give me an exact reason as to why I was charged an adjustment fee when I DID NOT HAVE a platform bed!!! I immediately emailed customer service and the next day called customer support and the situation was immediately rectified. She stated that she didn't know why I was charged an additional $60 on top of the $92 and I was charged incorrectly. I honestly think I was charged that amount because $152 is more to split amongst two people than $92 and he wanted to split the rest with his partner. Awesome customer service!!! Poor workers!!! I say that to say this...please get better & more honest workers to avoid things like this. It's draining for the customers who really enjoy the convenience of your services. read more

hired them to mainly move a very heavy table and threw in some other furniture to make it worth the trip. however, they said couldn't move heavy table even though we informed them of the weight prior to scheduling move. when they go here, they moved a few of the other items, standard items (grille, patio furniture) and then they told us they couldn't move heavy table. they told us they'd credit the account for the heavy table. remember, the main reason for hiring Dolly was to have the heavy table moved. they told us the credit would be $15 on a almost $150 original charge. still in dispute but absolutely ridiculous credit of the main item. hired someone else for less and got job done. too bad didn't know of 2nd mover before hiring Dolly. read more
