I did a search and found this Dollarama roughly seven minutes away from where I was. I drove over there. The drive was fine. This Dollarama is in a plaza anchored by Sobeys and LCBO. This store is between PetValu on the left and Pizza Pizza on the right. I spotted a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. I backed into the spot and then headed inside. It's a spacious store. Greeting me were six-pack cases of Pepsi mini varieties, six different Doritos flavours, and packages of Haribo gummies. I knew that I had entered a decent dollar store. I like getting canned goods from Dollarama. They are decent, especially when you are running out of groceries and can raid your pantry instead. I ended up with pasta sauce, Chef Boyardee (comforting and I like that you can crack these cans open without any tools), and luncheon meat. I also got a package of spaghettini. I ended up making a huge pot of spaghetti with garlic and herb sauce. It turned out nicely and I didn't break the bank. I like that this place had two different brands of lemon juice. Seeing lemon juice at a dollar store wasn't a thing two years ago. I was elated to find some exciting, cool finds to me. The first one was small escargots in cans. I have never made escargots. I am inspired to give it a try in future. I last had some in Winnipeg at a fancy restaurant several years ago. They were so good, likely because it had more butter than anything. I was also pleased that this store had Viva Puffs and Dare cookies with the cream filling. I love the former with raspberry and marshmallow filling. Although this store didn't have the Dare coconut cream cookies, it had lemon and fudge flavours that I also love. So cheap and yummy! This store ranks high on my list of decent Dollarama stores. The only issue was using the self-checkout kiosk and getting a weird error that I needed to remove an item at the kiosk and I had nothing. There weren't any humans at the regular checkout area, so you were forced to use the kiosks. However, I had the most helpful and nice young female staffer get rid of this error. I thanked her. I liked my brief time at this store. I'll need to keep my eyes peeled for escargots at other stores. I know that my local one does not carry them, so you may see me back here soon when I am ready to try my hand preparing them. (19)

Despite the awkward appearance, odd layout, and easy to get lost in not being able to find the exit…read moreof this location if you're not used to it (I don't normally travel there but was visiting a friend who lives near this one since I wanted to go when she asked me to come along), this one is quite a lot of fun to check out if you are in or near that location. Large location with a large selection especially of cat products and excellent stock too. Lots of budget conscious items, however, some higher end items, but some though not as many as locations closer to wealthier areas. Good number of self check-out stations but usually at least two cashiers available, as this one seems to be a combination of teenagers and seniors. A short to no wait from lining up to exiting the store. A little less clean and tidy than many stores of this chain I have been to, although maybe it's just my high standards. Worth a visit if you're there anyway.

It occurred to me that I needed to pick up some items here. I checked out this store. I normally don't go to a Dollarama at a mall. Chances are that it will be more crowded than going to a standalone store. I was right. This store is by mall entrance 9. You take the elevator down to the store. There's also an elevator if you need one. This store was pretty busy. I liked what it had to offer. Pepsi products greeted me. I liked the Mickey Mouse set with a whisk, towel, and spatula. It was cheerful and cute. The ice cube trays were cool. I liked the larger cube moulds. They were bright and had silicone at the bottom of each cube, allowing you to easily pop cubes out for your refreshments. The snacks and drinks aisles were impressive. I liked the variety. The chip selection was excellent. I came here for pasta sauce and macaroni. I found everything that I needed. I headed to the cashout area. There was one human cashier. There were roughly eight self-checkout kiosks there. I used the latter. It's hit or miss using one at Dollarama. Sometimes, it's smooth sailing. Other times, it seems to want to give me a hard time. Luckily, I was able to scan my two items and pay without any issues. I didn't buy a lot. I had parked a good distance away from this store, so carrying them wasn't an issue. If I had made a larger purchase, I wouldn't have been as happy lugging everything that far away. It's a good store. It's convenient if you are at the mall and need something. I still like hitting standalone Dollarama stores that aren't as crowded as this one. (47)

Every wall and aisle is loaded with products and Dollarama is no longer what it used to be....that is things for a dollar. Prices are varied and there are more 2 for...etc. The checkout process was efficient given a long lineup of customers. Anyhow, these types of discount stores lure people like me here so shop away!

I like Dollarama when it comes to getting candy, canned goods, and spices. The items are of good quality and the price is right. Items are no longer a dollar. You see the price vary depending on the item that you're getting. You can get sandwich bags with the zipper seal for $1.25. A roll of aluminum foil will cost you $3. Prices are still decent. I've heard that the most expensive item these days will set you back $5. I have yet to buy anything for that price. I bought something for my plant a while back that was $4.25. I like getting tissue paper for gift bags and the gift bags themselves. They are cheap and of decent quality. The snacks are also amazing. I am seeing more sugar-free options these days, but they are still outnumbered by chocolate bars and hard candy that are highly sugary. I have bought lightbulbs from Dollarama in the past. It didn't set my house on fire. One of them recently died. It was an LED. I can't recall how long I have been using it. It was definitely for a few years. Last Saturday, I was hoping to drop by this store and shop. It's not worth attempting a visit on weekends. This store is next to the Mandarin, where families like to gather and enjoy the buffet. All parking spots in this vicinity were taken up. It likely explains why I don't shop here as often than I used to. There's a Dollar Tree a couple of minutes away that never has an issue with parking. I tend to like the variety of products that it offers, including bagel seasoning and sugar-free beverages. Maybe when I'm here after work, I'll return to revisit this store. It's a good one. The parking can make or break your visit, though. (193)

This is probably the least known one as it's tucked in a corner inside Box Grove Plaza, but this is probably by favourite of the four. Everything about this particular store is organized, and I find this store carries a lot more of the $3 items that are actually worth that much (e.g: huge collections of shampoo and body/hand wash). The cashiers here are also efficient and actually smile and greet at you, despite them being paid the amount they are paid. This store gets somewhat busy around 5-6pm as business workers do come in to buy some last-minute items, which makes sense as it is located in an almost purely residential area.

This plaza has my local ServiceOntario, where I have posed for my driver's licence mugshot over the years. This plaza also has a Dollarama that has been here for as long as I can remember. I decided to pay it a visit last Wednesday evening. On Thursday, my department had a virtual lunch. It was my suggestion to hijack our regular weekly meeting to ban chatting about work and have lunch with the team virtually. I managed to convince my colleagues to order takeout. It worked! Being on video (I'm not a fan in general, but I'm okay sacrificing my face for lunch and chatting about non-work-related stuff for an hour), I felt that I needed a Santa hat to get into the festive spirit. I knew that I could rely on Dollarama for my needs. It did not fail. Let's talk about parking. There are lots of parking spots in this plaza. Some of them are extremely roomy, like the one that I was parked at. I swung my driver's side door wide open and had another foot between my door and the car next to me. Yay! Dollar stores are deemed essential during this pandemic and remain open. The prime reason is that they offer food and drinks. Naturally, there were a number of customers shopping when I was there. I immediately looked for the Christmas section. I found it easily! There were lots of Santa hats to choose from. There was the traditional one that I ultimately got. One had two white braids going down either side. Another had antlers. I loved the elf hat with huge ears. The problem is that it didn't accommodate my huge head. Luckily, the traditional one did for a whopping $1.25. The aisles are long in this store. They stretch from where the cashout area is at the front to the very back before you hit the employee area. So, everyone seemed to ignore the arrows on the floor in each aisle. If you were at at aisle where you saw an item, but it meant walking down another aisle and back up to take a closer look at it, most chose to ignore what you should do in favour of convenience. This store is a fascinating place to observe how humans behave. If I didn't have errands to run, I would have found a chair and watched people for a good half an hour. Between Dollarama and Dollar Tree, I like the latter more before everything is the same price. Dollarama varies its prices based on the type of item. So, is it truly a dollar store by definition? Maybe it should change its name to Dollars-rama instead. I do enjoy getting candy here. I got two white chocolate KitKat bars and they were delicious and cheap. The snacks section is pretty impressive. This store has garlic naan, which I don't often see at Dollarama. Perhaps this area has more South Asian folks that this store is being accommodative. It's cool. I lined up to pay for my items. There were two cashiers working that evening. The woman behind me was standing way too close to me. My staring at her and the marker on the floor did not do a thing. She was oblivious, as was the woman behind her standing inches away. It's not an issue with the store, but with people who don't get it. Anyway, I got a nice male cashier who helped get me on my way. My items cost me $6.66. I joked that perhaps I should get another item. He laughed. I used my debit card and all was great. I didn't need a bag and wished him a good evening as I headed to my car. It's a decent Dollarama. Other than folks not physically distancing as well as they should in the store, I'd return because the selection is perfect for my needs. (448)

The other Dollarama on Highway 7 which is a lot bigger than the nearby location Hwy 7 and Kennedy…read more If you want a more comfortable visit, I like going to this location more as the aisles are longer and you can feel more space in between aisles when browsing. Sadly, even though the store is bigger, it still lacked a lot of the popular items as I guess the items are sold out just as quick which means there is a lot of traffic but still have a good amount of variety. I don't remember seeing self checkouts there. Perhaps it is not needed but I feel they need to add it to make the checkout faster and also not having to wait for a staff to show up to check people out. This Dollarama is conveniently located in a plaza with lots of restaurants and even a Service Ontario, and even a No Frills, at next door plaza which means can kill a few birds with one stone when needing to run many errands :) The parking lot is huge and there is sufficient parking. Transit Viva Purple is easily accessible to get there.

I don't have an obnoxious Hawaiian shirt to wear. I said to her that I'd hit a dollar store to find some leis. It's exactly what I did today after I had fetched dinner. I was near Richmond Hill. I did a search and found this Dollarama, which was four minutes away. This Dollarama is located in a huge plaza. I have been here before for Pi Co and Chatime. It was nice to check out a different business. I found a parking spot fairly close to the main entrance. I backed into a spot and walked in. This store is organized like you'd expect from a modern Dollarama. You walk in and kitchen accessories greet you. Around the corner were gift cards. I needed leis. I went to the party section. I didn't find any at first. Instead, I walked around the store. It's a decent size. I didn't get any food, but the shelf-stable ramen and pasta were impressive. I also liked the beverages. I walked around the store a second time. I found leis! They were indeed in the party section. I had plastic leis in mind. These had that fake flower feel that made them slightly elevated and classy. I got a few for my colleagues and me. They were $1.25 each. I got the colourful version as opposed to all red flowers. The best find was a cute Squishmallow. Bolivar is the sweetest scorpion plushie. I had to get him at the low price of $5. Yay! I hope that this store offers more of them. I went to pay for my items. The lineup was fairly short. My wait was perhaps a minute. I had a woman at the checkout who opened up when I said hi and asked how she was. Sometimes, it takes a bit of interaction to get folks to smile. I paid for my items with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I collected everything, wished her a great day, and left with my purchases. I'm glad that I thought of hitting a dollar store for leis. This is a pretty legit Dollar-rama…read more Super convenient location, fairly tidy, and well laid out. They also have two entrances and two sets of cashiers - it is usually busy here. Almost always can find what I'm looking for and they have a decent "home goods" section. We found a bunch of cool and random stuff here to decorate our little apartment balcony this summer - sweet! Some of my fave items to purchase include shower curtain liners, kitchen/bathroom cleaners, Halloween costumes/accessories, picture frames, and Christmas decor. Love to come here to grab gift wrap for presents as well - they have a huge selection. Yay to the dollar store!
