I like this little Dollar Tree. It was a nice addition to the Yelm area. The general layout of the store is great. The aisles are not offset or at an angle so it's just straight up and down and no riff raff. I don't know if it's because it's a newer store or what, but the store is very well stocked and clean. It's overall a great utilization of the space they are in. It's cool that it's right next to the Goodwill as well. It's never busy when I go either and there is always no line and a friendly cashier. read more

I've been at this location multiple times and normally don't have any issues other than wait time to be checked out due to short staffing. However when I went in there this afternoon (Thursday May 19th and 2pm) I witnessed a worker being talked down to and criticized for asking for a break and calling up a manager to check a $100 bill as you're always supposed to, so unprofessional. The worked maintained her professionalism although you could tell she was tired and needed a break. She was the only worker in site as well. I do NOT think said manager knows how to work in customer service and needs to be retrained. This type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. read more

We go into this store several times a month and rarely have an issue. I absolutely adore the women that work here. They're kind, sweet and always super nice. Today they were SUPER busy (no worries). There was a gay male employee who was in lane 3 and said "lane 3 open". We went to get into lane 3 and he stepped out, didn't say a word then went about checking out the people in front of us. We got up to being second to last and he stated he was "closed". Ummm okay. So we got into the long ass line in lane 1. MEANWHILE he CONTINUED to check people out. Seriously?! We walked into the other checkout and he turns on his light and continued to check people out. While waiting for our cashier this other one mean mugged/glared at my husband. I'm not sure if it was the American shirt he was wearing or what but it's unacceptable. We're never rude, mean, degrading or anything to ANY cashiers and this behavior from him was just blatant discrimination. read more

We went in for flash cards for our youngest son and were disappointed to only find subtraction cards. The cashier was able to step away and find addition cards from the well picked over display of cards. Sami was incredibly helpful and went well out of her way to be sure we found what we needed! Her friendliness will definitely bring us back to the dollar tree! Thank you Sami!! read more

I want to thank Andrew Kocot because he was very kind and he was not just an ordinary employee, he went above and beyond in going the extra mile. A lot of people who work just do it for the money but you when you come into the doors thell greet you as told by store policy.. it's just an empty greeting but he went above and beyond to help out. All I did was said thank you and appreciated what he has done giving recognition to the store employees. I think anybody that goes into that store should talk to Andrew. I have been to multiple Dollar Trees and most don't give a crap cause their treated poorly. If you give an inch they will give you a mile if courteous. He made me have a good day cause I was going through a troubled moment and had allot on my mind. He took the moment outta his time as he helped me find what I need.. there needs to be more people out there who actually go above and beyond instead of thinking about their paycheck and saying hello to customers. Talking to ai chat, and ai rep, I got no where. But once they sent me to the girl in drive up and go I was taken care of. She was so nice and said they will pick the order for me again and make sure I don't get the same doordash driver again. She even called me later to tell me the driver has the groceries in the car and on the way. Once they arrived I opened the door to a small plant and a sweet handwritten note apologizing from drive up and go. It made my day! First of all, you must realize there's tons of coffee places in Washington, especially in Yelm I can count about 9 places that sell coffee on the main Street. I'm not even counting the half dozen gas stations either . Most of them are little drive-thru structures. This one is a brick and mortar in town. And unfortunately people are lazy and like to drive through and get their beverages. So that's sort of a negative for Kravins. You need to make that place a coffee house. Someone is willing to get out of their car for. The former business was really adorable. They had some really cute unique vintage stuff in there shop. They had a business that did Do-It-Yourself terrariums in the back. It was very unique and it was sad that they didn't make it due to lack of support of this town. The rule of thumb is when you take over a business you need to make it better and more interesting . I went in the other day, because I heard they had soup there a while back. They no longer sell soup. So that's strike one. Their baked goods looked like they had bought them from the grocery store instead of either sourcing them from someone unique or baking them themselves. There are plenty of bakers that are independent in this town that you could source some really amazing baked goods from if you don't want to do it yourself. You need something like that to bring people in. I don't know why you don't have a soup and salad bar that would take your business to the next level. The cute shop and vintage items are gone and have been replaced with boring gift store items. Tim's pharmacy has the most unique items and they're right across the street. Why are you trying to reinvent the wheel with some humdrum stuff? I'm giving you free advice if you want to make that business go. You have to make it shine and be so unique. Even the drinks have to be different. I purchased a small smoothie that cost me almost $8 and it wasn't good. It was extremely sweet and it had a strange taste to it. Based on that visit I would never come back and I wouldn't recommend you to anybody. You have a really nice shop there. You need to really bring it up to the next level. You need to serve some sort of soup and salad. Something unique. Forget the sandwiches. Those are everywhere or if you make sandwiches they have to be different. People are looking for something new. Also you want to make it a place people want to come and hang out. It's not charming anymore with the gift shop hanging there. Hopefully you fix it. Turn it into a little restaurant.

I've been coming here for my Warrior Cat books for over a decade, which they make readily available every date they come out. Even with the layout changes over the years, I always appreciate being able to come in while my family is grocery shopping next door.
